I agreed. If the mighty mouse had two physical buttons and the ability to use the side buttons separately, it'd be a great product. If HP can design an iMac white mouse with real buttons that looks good, so can Apple. As is, it's just another Steve Jobs product that trades functionality for design. It's nice for general GUI use, but anything that requires a lot of mouse clicks shows the limitations of its design.

I don't understand what you're saying at all. What is the advantage of 2 physical top buttons? I've never had an issue getting either button to function correctly...

I bought a Mighty Mouse back when they first came out and I really never liked the feel of it. The pressure required by your fingers to make it "click" is way too much and I hate that there are not two "real" buttons.

Logitech and Microsoft mice feel way better to me. Anyone else agree, or am I the only one? I wonder if this new wireless one is any better???

Anyone know if the laser in this new mouse can be used as a barcode scanner?

the pressure required by your fingers is way too much? What?! please.... and why do you care that there isn't a line seperating the buttons? It works like 2....

:D THIS is what you must do :D

Ps. I've just fixed mine after two days with no "down" scrolling.

That is the dumbest video I've ever seen. Rub it with a clothe. Hold it upside down and rub it with a clothe. I had to watch it twice and take notes.

To answer an earlier question, RF based mice and keyboards do not require "line of sight," but it makes the operations more smooth. I noticed after putting the USB adapter on the back of my machine, inside the computer desk tower, and closing the door... that the mouse worked but was a little spotty. I plugged the adapter into the USB on the back of my Dell monitor.. and I'm very happy with the wireless optical performance on my Kensington Pilot.

It is just Windows trolls complaining about no physical buttons...

OMG, when I press any button, the whole mouse moves slightly!

The only time that I have seen a mighty mouse act up is in windows if the user keeps their hand firmly pressed against the entire surface of the mouse directly on top of both buttons simultaneously when they want to click something. (IT ALWAYS LEFT CLICKS!!!)

Go do something productive like buy WoW, make yourself a troll and start killing midgets.

Yeah, good point, you do need to use proper mouse "posture" to make it function correctly, but I assume most users have that

This should be out in the UK in the 'next few days' so thats sweet!

Its gonna set us back £49.99 tho, which is a fair bit for a mouse. Combine that with the £34 for a bluetooth adapter for my PowerMac G5 & it becomes quite an expensive upgrade....

This is Apple at its best. Get your customers to buy two of every product. Come out with a product holding back one or two main feautures while keeping it still cool enough that people will buy it. Then a year later, release the version that everyone really wanted in the beginning and they'll all buy it again.

The people at Apple know of our hunger for the latest & greatest and are masters at exploiting it. I wish it wasn't true, but I'm weak just like the rest of you. (Okay, so, I didn't buy a Mighty Mouse, but that's because I'm a poor college student. When I actually have the money, I will fall into this trap.)

And does anyone else think it looks like a real mouse? Go to Apple's homepage and check out the pic there. That's probably what they were going for, but seriously...it looks like a mouse! Apple knows how to work it.

Are you talking about with this new BT Mighty Mouse? It has right-click, no?
Yes.
It has four buttons:
- Left click
- Right click
- Scrollball click
- Side trigger click

A Bluetooth laser mouse for $70 US is a good deal by any standard. Next time I go to the Apple store (Thursday), I'm going to try one out and see how I like it (Even though I already have a Bluetooth Logitech V270 ;)). The V270 is not laser and it's very small - too small for my Carpal Tunneled wrist and hand.

Windows trolls? I've been using Macs since the system 7 days. Probably longer than you've been alive.

It's a genuine Apple support help video
Just had to post it :D

That is not only dumb but it doesn't work..
I just did it out of curiosity and the mouse still won't scroll down.It will go up and sideways but not down.

Apple needs to get better help videos..
