based on concepts and drawings of the chassis, looks like they're only adding the façade of speaker, while only one hole will be for the mic. I hope it isn't merely cosmetic; there HAS to be some sort of benefit that Apple hasn't told us about yet BESIDES waterproofing/resisting.

I don't know. I've heard from a very reliable source that the opening music for the keynote is AC/DC's The Jack.

She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, jack, jack, jack, jack, jack, jack
She's got the jack

Bragi Dash earphones have a sound problem.

I returned my Bragi Dash headphones because they sounded so terrible. I even wrote a review on Amazon about how bad they were. $300 headphones sounding like they aren't $300 headphones means they must be returned immediately.

How long had you used them for and which version of the OS were you using?

If these actually stay in my ears and give me size hours (I'd take at least four but six is great) at $150, they're already superior to most any other sport Bluetooth buds on the market. If I'm going to go Bluetooth I also want/need completely cordless.

Curious what Apple will price their standalone bids (if they're even a thing) and how they perform and fit in a sport environment.

I just received a set of $20 bluetooth headphones I got off Amazon. They sound magnificent and took less than a minute to figure out how to pair once I had done the initial charge. The quality for a phone call is excellent as well.

They're black and don't have a mess of cable, won't coil awkwardly like the headphones that come with the device, and have a better build quality. If I had known about these before, wired headphones would not have been a thing for me any more.
Mind sharing what you bought?

It is the carrying case that houses the charger (which needs to be connected to a power source to charge the headphones). I do not have anything like that for my Dash - and I am glad about that as they look stupid.
[doublepost=1473121432][/doublepost]

They Dash have an audio setting that previously would not allow the volume to be broadcast above a European standard that was deemed to be safe. At the request of some users that restriction has been removed and you get an audible warning when you get to the safe volume level. However the volume heard is dependent on the sound level of your music - I have some songs that I can barely hear at the safe level and some I listen to way below the safe level.

Is the Dash good? They look unreal but I heard complaints about them cutting in and out of signal if your phone is tucked away in a bag etc

sorry, but if you require a shamelessly sexist promo to promote your product, I will not be buying. I will stick with Bose, thank you very much. (I can't believe it's 2016 and we are still being subjected to this kind of frat-boy marketing crap.)

kill you sperm! Kill your brain! Buy Bluetooth devices, it's the future!

YES! We all should demand adequate testing. You may be fine bring a test subject, I'm not.

Any proof or just scaremongering?

What health concerns? The only thing I can think of is ear infections from putting something in your ear, but you can get that from regular ear buds.

It kills sperm, but I don't see how that affects headphones.

I find this very strange. I think this must be a production issue. I walk around outside with my phone in my pocket a lot and have minimal drop outs. I don't have any music stored on them locally.

It would be great to see your evidence and qualifications supporting this.

Who needs facts when you have fear, though?

Perfectly solve overpopulation issue silently and yet people still cheers for all of those "convenience".

Just don't use your BT headphones on your crotch. Solved problem.

I think Bragi found out they are about to be Sherlocked (Airpodded) and need to lock in some sales before Wednesday.

Sorry, but 10 hours is waaaaaay over "too much" for a day. You can't listen to more than 2 hours a day of music!
This is kind of confusing. Did you mean to say 2 here? I don't thinking it would be terribly difficult to listen to audio longer than two hours. Maybe not every day but I'm sure there are days I've listened longer than two hours.

Yeah, I think the person has to be sarcastic. I listen to around 6 or more hours of audio almost every day.

I have bought two pair of Earins. I lost the first pair on the bus and currently don't know where my second pair is. Loosing them is the biggest problem with wireless earbuds so far for me. Another problem is that you loose the signal, if you turn your head quickly.

Once you go in-ear wireless though, wearing wires looks really dated.

Damn, I must find my second pair, or I will have to buy a third pair. I know they are in the apartment, wish you could locate them from the phone.

Can we get Siri to sound like Scarlet Johansen?

I think new, enhanced voices may be introduced eventually and will be a feature that would lure in those who are on the "should I upgrade?" fence. Maybe not on the 7, but some day. I think we're overdue for seeing enhancements in speech synthesis.

Apple won't be announcing the removal of anything. They will be announcing the launch of a better customer experience.

wireless will never be a never be a better experience if you care about sound
[doublepost=1473137583][/doublepost]
Apparently not everyone got that message.
Apple will spin it as revolutionary(it isn't) and how they waited to implement the technology(they just need something to differentiate from old phone)

AD 2017

When people stop whining about headphone jacks, because every Android OEM will remove them, and everyone has bought bluetooth headphones.

That won't happen Android manufacturers don't remove features just for the sake of removing them.

Wireless doesn't give me the experience of the cord getting caught on something and phone out of my pocket. Better experience in my books.

When they first shipped to Kickstarter Backers - after a 12 month delay it was massively disappointing. The BT connection just didnt work. There were frequent drop outs. I believed, like many, that this was a hardware issue that was not solvable. I made an adjustment to where I carried my phone - from front left to front right pocket and that had some improvement. Outside I started to use the in built mp3 player as the drop outs were quite bad.

However on both the latest OS (2.1) and the one prior (2.0) I have no BT issues to speak of. I get the occasional fraction of a second drop out outside. In my house I can have my iPad in corner of my kitchen and walk to teh other end of the kitchen (7M) and only then do I start to get drop outs.

I do have some issues with them though:

- New security requirements mean you need to confirm a code with the device you are connecting to (first time connection). This works fine with very smart devices like phones and computers. It works fine with dumb devices (mini BT transmitters) who ignore the need to enter the code. Then there is the AppleTV who isn't expecting a BT pairing code but the Dash thinks it is and thus can not connect to the Dash.

- Switching between devices - this requires you to go into the BT settings of the device you are connected to and disconnect, then go into the next device setting and connect. On a trip to the city which has walking and a train ride then getting home to watch TV on the iMac - I could switch between devices 10 or 15 times a day. This needs to be better.

- Price - I kickstarted these for US$200 when the A$ was 1:1 with the US$. They now retail for $300 and the A$ is .76:1 with the US$ meaning they have jumped from A$200 to A$400 - a bit of a leap.

Issues other people have:

- Dash doesnt deliver on some of the health sensors that were promised
- Some Dash have cracked - it is not known if this was a user problem
- Customer service can be sketchy (I had a pair die but they were replaced pretty quickly - although I had to pay postage to ship them back)
- Some people continue to complain about the BT connection. I hear lots of "I have to have it 10in from my device" and similar unfounded claims. I honestly and genuinely am no longer having these issues.

For the record - I do not work for Bragi, have been both an advocate and a detractor of Bragi and was one of the very disappointed backers when the units arrived. I am now over the moon having been disconnected from wires.

Appreciate the buns just like a Carls Jr. commercial. Doesn't mean I will buy what they are selling though. Sex doesn't always sell...

I care about sound. But I care about having a device that doesn't hit concrete more.

You clearly don't if you believe you can achieve as good a sound quality from a wireless solution. Wireless are good for convenience not sound quality.

How good is the sound quality on the train? Can you pick out the individual notes whilst school kids yammer at each other, babies scream and the train rattles?

I can't believe people have such a myopic condescending view.

I can't bring myself to be a test subject for Bluetooth headsets. Everyone here should demand adequate research and testing to VERIFY, without question that Bluetooth radiation is safe.

http://emfblues.com/bluetooth-radiation/

2.4 ghz is orders of magnitude lower in frequency than ionizing radiation which starts around uv ( 8 × 10^14hz to 3 × 10^16hz) and goes through x-rays and gamma rays. Visible light is even orders of magnitude higher. You'll be fine.

Very good if you have a decent set of cans and a portable dac actually. Our trains in Chicago area have quiet cars;) so even better! It is just simply fact that a wireless solution will never achieve the quality of a hard wired connection nothing condescending about that.
