Huh, no, anyone can duplicate that provided they have access to the right material/tools. There's nothing special about Apple's plastic.

An ebayer could have opened up to take pics, etc. and misplaced.

Auction said NEW.SEALED,UNOPENED.

The Micro sim is still in the tray. Don't you think if they were going to open it, they would have removed the Micro sim?

Sure, it won't be the first time an ebayer has sold a re-sealed product, nor the last. Not saying it was actually re-sealed, but you can't rely on their words.

Why in the world would they need to remove it?

No idea, but a lot of sellers on eBay do remove them. For what purpose I have not a clue.

The guy you bought the phone from on eBay

hey. you just recently purchased an iphone 4 from me on ebay. 16 gigger. I opened and resealed the thing for the purpose of taking photos and made a lil' booboo when replacing them.

the guy who won the 32 gig auction got the 16 and wants his money back. I think you should do the right thing and return it to me so I can make this right for both purchasers.

How would you feel if you got the 16 in lieu of the 32 you thought you were getting? you'd be as pissed off as you are glib right now.

As stated, The box was SEALED.

So I didn't do to bad. $700 for a 32GB iPhone 4 with Next day shipping with insurance.

No screen issues. Phone is flawless.

Wait you paid $700 for what you originally thought was a 16GB?

Congrats on your find... You should try your luck on the lottery!

The seller shouldn't have claimed it was never opened if it was. It's the seller's problem if only for the fact that he claimed it was never opened.

By the way, that's not really the seller from eBay, is it?

I agree.

The seller didn't open it.
These people are on something.

I just got really lucky.

the seller is apple authorized and able to open and reseal the boxes for purposes of showing the actual product which is essential for proper ebaying of products such as this.

i even get iPlastic DIRECTLY from Cupertino, which has a certain smell, texture and strength as opposed to standard plastic wrappings.

If I was a buyer, I wouldn't give up the phone due to the seller's mistake because I wouldn't want an iPhone that somebody else has been using if I had paid for a new iPhone.

The purchaser of the 32 has already shipped it back, after only opening it, realizing it was 16 and packing it up.

plus $15 iTunes gift cards were offered to make up for the mistake

And now, instead of choosing to keep your mouth shut, you decided to post on MacRumors about it, and screw someone else out of a 32GB phone, that they actually paid for. Very classy there tough guy.

Naw, Nice try though.

I simply created a thread because I couldn't find anything on this.

I thought it was iTunes acting up because I have a few iPhones synced to my MBP.

No, you wanted to brag about how you got sooo lucky and how entitled you are to have that luck
