They should air the last two episodes as a single 3 hour movie as a grand finally.

That's almost what I was expecting they'd do. The penultimate episode would be regular length, and we'd finish off with a long 2 hour finale.

Oh well, we get half an hour more of Breaking Bad as is. Which is cool...until you realize it's the last new Breaking Bad we'll ever get. :(

A basic cable channel tv series isn't about to break too many viewership records.

As already noted the finale of MASH was a huge, as was Superbowl XLVI but I don't see breaking bad having the same exposure or reach. I'm not knocking the show, heck, I've never saw it, but I'm going on the fact that it never had the ratings that could make a run for the record.

Im thinking that next Sunday's series finale of Breaking Bad might be the biggest night in the history of TV ratings. There have been a lot of great shows on TV in the past, and while some might not be into Breaking Bad, it has taken over Sunday nights. I find it nuts that when Im watching NFL games, and reading tweets, most of the tweets are about how many hours until the next episode of Breaking Bad begins, not Aaron Rodgers throwing for 400 years and 4 TDs. I think in the age of social media, its going to be the biggest night we've seen yet. Does it top President Obama, with his 320k tweets per minute when he was re-elected?

I certainly think, at least in terms of twitter, it depends on who you follow. If you follow like minded people it may seem bigger than it really is. You should see my timeline blow up when Pretty Little Liars is on.

And on Sundays, it's all about the football. One or two about Breaking Bad, but that's it. I don't think it's going to be breaking any ratings records, though. And if it beats Obama's reelection in terms of tweets, we may be doomed. ;)

DAMN, didnt know the numbers were that high

And Breaking Bad peaked last week at 6.37 million (and counting)... so they're a good 120-160 million short. I'm guessing maybe as high as 8 for the last episode.

If it's not on a network, it has no chance to break a TV rating record. Social media mention record? Perhaps, but probably only at the very end of the episode. I know many who avoid posting in order to limit spoilers.

Think of it like this. Back when MASH was big, there were...what? 3 channels? ABC, NBC, and CBS? A great show was more likely to hit a wider audience back then.

Breaking Bad is coming on in an age when we have hundreds to choose from, and the channel it does come on isn't necssarily in everyones package. It's a small miracle it's watched as heavily as it is.

And a lot of people watch it through other means.

Yup, forgot about the other options. Some people do opt to watch it online via AMC's website. And, of course...Other Means.

The latter of which I was almost forced to do, since I subscribed to Dish shortly before they began their pointless petty spat with Viacom.

TV is going to be transformed and intertwined with the internet pretty soon. Different topic for a different thread, however.

Who else thinks is going to feel bad and/or save Jesse? I think despite everything that's happened, the only reason he really wanted to kill Jesse was because Jesse was a threat to his family and name. He obviously isn't anymore, and maybe he thinks if he'll save Jesse, Jesse can make his family some money in the future. Who knows.

Yup. Entirely different topic. But I'll add a bit and say that I'm patiently counting down the days until. I've been wanting to cut the cord for at least two years now, and only a handful of shows are keeping me around by this point. If I could get HBO Go without a cable sub, I'd probably do it the moment my Dish contract runs out next year.

That was the initial reason, but things have changed considerably since the incident in the desert. Considering how Walt's mind works, he's likely blaming Jesse directly for Hank's death, and at least puts part of the blame on his shoulders for breaking his family apart. Running to Hank rather than discussing things mano-a-mano was an act of pure betrayal from Walt's perspective. He sees every horrible thing that happened from the desert on solely as Jesse's fault.

If you want an example of how Walt can twist conclusions around in his head, demonizing the people he loves while making himself out to be the victim, just look at how he treated Gretchen in the restaurant back in season 2. He's doing the exact same thing here.

If Jesse gets his happy ending, it definitely won't be because Walt decides to forgive him at the end.

Walt and Jesse are going to have a showdown for sure (no survivors).

I'll be interested to see if Skylars visit to the 4 corners monument is resolved.
She stands in the middle and tosses a coin, has she got a plan?

This could be a sign of things to come

Wasnt that from the shootout in the desert, where Hank died? I dont see how it would be a sign.

That's from last weeks episode. It's when Walt runs out of gas in the desert because there is a hole in the gas tank and he has to roll his barrel of $10 million.

Waiting for the next episode has made this past week feel a lot longer then it was...

Yeah, the bullet hole was from the shootout, where Hank died, and when Jesse was hiding under the car. Im still not seeing where the bullet hole is a sign for anything else.

The bullet hole is right in the middle of one of the reflections of walt's head. Something I'm sure the producers did on purpose to screw With us.

ok ,ok .... the bullet is smack in the middle of Walts forehead in the reflection
