Again, positing your opinion as fact or part of a greater truth. "the majority doesn't like it." where did get this from? A poll on this website? Most people I know won't even notice, much less complain about it.
This website is not a general indicator of the typical iPhone user. Ask them about parallax or skeumorphism or control center and they'll say "what?"
In my general experience with smartphone users, they are comically under-informed. I know people who use a passcode on their iPhone 5s and have no idea what Touch ID is. I have had to explain to people what Active Display was on a Moto X. I've seen people who had no idea the Note 3 had a stylus.
I think I can safely say that most people don't really care about full screen contact pictures because they don't even notice it. The typical macrumors member is far more informed about iPhones and iOS. That's why they're here. Same reason someone on a car forum knows way more about his engine than a random guy driving down the street. We're enthusiasts. We're statistically insignificant.
