buy.com crucial 2GB sodimm's 59.99/ea!

I can't log into my account at Buy.com to see if my memory has been shipped. Nor can I get to the help center. Luckily Google found the customer service email addy. I have a question in and am waiting for a response. I had my wife try and log in to my Buy.com account from her XP notebook and she can't log in either.

Is anyone else having problems logging into Buy.com accounts?
 
newegg is out of stock :(


anyone know ram suppliers based in the uk or ireland?

Want to order ram and have it soon, dont care about the cost :)

I think you can't log in to buy.com with a google checkout or you can't find your order if you did google checkout.

i used a yahoo email for google checkout so I can't even check my order through GC. I was able to use the link from buy.com's email, enter my order number, last name, and tel # to see the status.

Still "Sent to Warehouse". :(

You'll get an email when it ships. And no problems checking mine. you have to use the google checkout link on buy.com to check your status.. not the normal buy.com accounts login.
 
Thanks for the assistance. I can finally log into my Buy.com account this evening. I guess they did receive my email RE: unable to log into my account. I didn't use Google checkout because when I clicked buy it took forever. I decided if I wanted the ram that I had better get through the process as quick as possible. I used my already established buy.com account. I'll get the $10 from Google another time. ;) My order still says sent to warehouse.

It was a really unrewarding week of online shopping. My eBay purchase hasn't shown up and the seller hasn't responded. The Buy.com order hasn't shipped and they haven't responded. I ordered an add-on for a Fender bass amp from Music123 and they haven't given me a tracking number or answered my email. I usually get treated better than this.:(

Buy.com uses UPS Mail innovations, meaning UPS might delivery it to your local area but then they hand it off to USPS. (This applies if you did the free shipping).

So it hasn't shipped yet. It said on the order page it can take 3-5 business days to ship, and with that sort of deal they got pummeled with orders (they took the item down later as out of stock).

Today is business day #4. It can will likely today or tomorrow. Assuming you ordered on the 6th.

Buy your RAM from OWC and trade in your RAM. OWC's RAM is at a good price and I have never had an issue with their RAM! Crucial on the other hand is another matter!

RAM is very very cheap right now. You might not need 4GB right now, but you might in the future. I would max out the RAM. Matched pairs are always better.

Buy your RAM from OWC and send the 'old' RAM back to them for a refund!
 
Well, my order from Memory America shipped today via Fedex so I should have it by the end of the week or early next week. I'm impressed that they were processing orders on the holiday.

Oh, and they honored the $4.50 shipping to Canada. We'll see if I get screwed at the border. Fedex is usually pretty good, though.

Once I get it we'll see if a) I can figure out how to install it and b) if it's any good!

So far, very impressed with Memory America.

You can track your order both through googlecheckout and buy.com...

Thanks!! now I was able to log in to GC acct. Still says in Progress. When I log on to buy.com it now says "On-order". I guess it's backordered. at least no cancellation yet. No problems since I don't even have an imac yet. :)

If its coming Fedex Ground, when it arrives you will have to pay customs brokerage of $16 - $35 to Fedex on top of GST and provincial tax. Never accept courier ground shipping to Canada, always insist on either USPS (mail) or air freight (expensive but brokerage is included)

Really? I've never had that with Fedex before. UPS does it all the time and they charge outrageous sums. My wife ordered a pair of boots from New York that she paid $55 for and we got charged $85 for customs and brokerage fees. That was a year and a half ago so they may have become more reasonable but I try to stay away from UPS for cross border shipments whenever possible.

That being said, I'm sure Fedex will charge me something so we'll see.

Still can't wait for new RAM!!!!

I just received my 4GB of RAM from memoryamerica about an hour ago. I ordered it on Friday afternoon! I live in Toronto.
I chose the International Expedited shipping option ($20). They use UPS. All I had to pay was another $15 in GST and PST for customs fees. No brokerage fees. Good deal. FAST shipping. If I would have gone with one of the cheaper ground shipping options, I would have had to pay around $45 CAD in brokerage fees plus the taxes!

My RAM is installed, and my MacBook is very happy. The RAM is Samsung.
Huzzah!

edit: from what UPS told me, when an item is shipping by air, there are no brokerage fees. When it is ground shipping, there are brokerage fees. International Expedited is air shipping.
 
Just got and dropped in my 4GB of Crucial! :D

i missed out on the buy.com deal, but i did get 2gb of crucial ram from newegg. didn't need 4gb, so i think i'll be all right with only 3gb. :)
