Just so you guys know Micron = Crucial.

Thanks, I knew that (but I'm sure others didn't).

So what do you all think? Is Memoryamerica too good to be true with their prices? $59 for a 2GB PC5300 stick? The specs for the RAM all look good, but I can't find enough review info from customers to know if it's a good choice or not.
They don't have the "Guaranteed-compatible memory upgrades for your Apple MacBook 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo" statement. That's the only thing. Is that a big deal?
(but as Tommy-boy's father said:"I can take a crap in a box and stamp it guaranteed, but all it is is a guaranteed piece of crap.")

What's unrealistic about 60/stick? We in this thread that got in on the crucial deal on buy.com paid 50/stick.

If you get micron memory you got a good deal, if you got samsung it's still a good deal. Apple uses Samsung ram occasionally (I've read), and their displays have been Samsung off and on.

im jumping in as the guinea pig/test rat for memory america. I'll let you all know how it goes. ordering them in a few minutes.

thanks for finding the same stick on newegg. I bought it from them instead since I have heard of them before.

is it my imagination or am i seeing the same ram on newegg for $60.99?

Thanks for your post, this time I was fast enough to order 4GB for my Macbook! :)

Is it generally recommended to keep the old money in case I should send my Macbook in for a warranty repair, or can I just sell the 2 x 512 MB at Ebay?

Anybody seen this deal in Canada?

Newegg still has them in stock but won't ship to Canada. Has anyone seen a decent deal from a company that ships to the Great White North? I tried Tigerdirect and CDW but they were WAAAYYYY higher.

I found a 4GB kit at Memory Depot for $207 CAN but that is still considerably higher and they only give you a selection of their RAM vendors and don't tell you which one you're actually getting. Grrr.

I already have 2 GB's on my MacBook, is it really worth upgrading it again just for the extra 1.3 GB gain (I have the mid-2007 model)?

Agreed.
Well, I ended up ordering from Memory America, and they have already shipped my 4GB of RAM. Hopefully I'll get them by the middle of next week (I am in Canada). Huzzah for my strong Canadian dollar.....:D
I'll post the outcome of my deal here if anyone cares.....

/Go Leafs go

Edit: Hey DJspice: I ordered from memoryamerica.com - 4GB for around $120 USD and they ship to Canada

Sweet!!! Thanks a bunch Surely! I've now done the same and my 4 gigs are on their way!

$119.80 minus a 10% discount for being Canadian!

And really reasonable shipping, too. Well, we'll see how good these guys are!

I am looking as well. I have a May 07 MB so I can only take up to 3GB, but that's still quite a bit. :x

EDIT: http://www.canadaram.com/macram.html has some pretty good deals :)

Just to be sure, there is no way to find similar deals for the older PC2700 RAM right? I am looking at 1GB sticks on newegg at $70 from Crucial... It is just too old and they are not making enough such sticks for the price to move significantly anymore right?
Too bad, my PB G4 could use a little more memory !

I jumped on this as well. I got a 2 gig stick for my iMac I've yet to order...it'll bring me to 3 gigs. If I find I need more, I'll purchase a second for 4 gigs...I just don't want to have the 1 gig stick laying around doing nothing.
