WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CAMERA APP

How does pano work? So you take a picture then move it to the left/right and it will tell you when the last shot matches with the next one?

You take a picture and then part of the frame is then ghosted so you can line up the next shot. Then that shot becomes ghosted and you move the camera again to line up. When done, you hit a button and it puts it all together...

There's a panorama 360 app that I see in the app store (don't own it) that supposedly works like the newer digital camera where you just sweep your camera and it uses the video to create a stitched photo - but I think it's a lower resolution and I'm not ready to buy a 2nd pano app.

Thanks for that explanation i think i will take the plunge and buy this now!

I've tried both and find autostitch much better (gets better independent reviews as well)

With autostitch you just take 16 pictures from left to right (or opposite or up and down) and the app does the rest, probably not the best picture to show it off but..

Its certainly impressive for a phone camera. Thanks for the input!

I think either app is a good choice. I like Pano because of the ability to overlap pictures in the viewfinder. I've heard great and seen great results from both apps...

Here's an example of one I did with Pano... also not the "best" but you get the idea

Has anyone used plastic bullet? It looks like hipstamatic, but with a little more to offer.

I like Plastic Bullet, but it's quite different from Hipstamatic.

What I love about Hipstamatic is that it's a one button camera once you set it up (choosing a lens and film). Click! Done. Click. Done again!

With Plastic Bullet, it's a case of Click to take the pic. Then click again to retake or use the pic you took (sheesh!) then flip through sets of random effects. Don't like one of the 4 you're presented? Click again. Still not one you want? Click again. Click click click click click click click clickclickclick clickcklxzkcpxlvhjoifdshtn48cq0weuiojs!!!!!!!

That being said... the effects in Plastic Bullet are fun, and you can choose to save one photo multiple ways (each time using a different random effect, I mean).

So...
If you're taking a few photos and have time to mess with each, Plastic Bullet is lots of fun and definitely worth buying.

If you're out with friends at a party or going on a photo walk and want to snap lots of quick photos, Hipstamatic all the way.

Quick question about Hipstamatic: can you save the pics to the camera roll and import to iPhoto as usual, or do you have to get them out of the app via email or upload to Facebook/Flickr? It doesn't say in the documentation as far as I can see.

This is one of my favorite things about Hipstamatic. They really got the process of taking and saving pictures right. When you take a picture, it just friggin' takes the picture. You're not presented with silly "Really? Are you sure you want to use this?" screens. It just takes the picture. Y'know... like a CAMERA would. I wish more camera apps worked this way. Also, Hipstamatic automatically saves the picture to your camera roll. So, when you plug in your iPhone, you can easily transfer the pics to your computer without having to figure out which shots are where on your iPhone. Again, I wish more camera apps worked this way.

I do wish Hipstamatic had a setting for turning off the silly borders. At first, they look cool, but after a while they're tiring - especially the ones with text on them. I usually crop them out in iPhoto.

Hipstamatic is a LOT of fun and TOTALLY worth the price, even after buying extra Hipstapaks! I hope they come out with new Hipstapaks soon.

Wow awesome man thanks for the tip. Never even heard about this app before. I was sort of sketch about if it would work, and so far it's worked flawlessly

Camera+ has been taken off the app store because it violated Apples oh so strict policies.
in that case is there anywhere one could find it?

Because of this thread I have 9 camera apps (missed out on camera+) and I don't even have a iPhone yet:(.

3 photos from my iPhone. The first 2 are unedited, the third is the second photo with some editing done on it, one the iPhone as well.

MORE CAMERA APP 'Showoffs' (SlowShutter, Pro HDR and You Gotta See This)

There were all just taken on my bike ride up the east river here in NYC with the Pro HDR app and very little adjustments. No other app was used for these shots... (I did reduce the size in photoshop...)
