Looked at my camera meta data. I was there on August 29. Should have setup a chair and called the news to promote myself and then leave. Could have beat that August 31 guy.

Note the matching t shirts. Advertising and PR. They might be smarter than you think.

This confuses the hell out of me. I waited like 18 hours for my PS4 and I've waited outside of Apple stores for iPhones before, but only when my days off aligned and I had friends that kept me company. How can people afford to take two weeks off work, family time, etc. to camp for this, let alone have the patience?

My ADD is way too stronk to wait in one spot (kinda) for two weeks... That's a lot of video game, drinking, and sexy time I'd be missing out on... No thanks.

I love all the comments showing how many people don't even bother a quick scan of the article, much less actually watching the short video, but feel compelled to leave a comment telling them to get a job or call it pathetic all the time being clueless that these are people promoting companies or apps. Either their own or someone they work for.

Yes, continue being brainwashed little worker drones. We need you to serve us food, manufacture goods, be code monkeys, etc.

Us self-employed salute you!

.

If you are self-employed or employed by someone else, what difference does this make? Having a job and actively contributing to the betterment of society is a good thing no matter which way you spin it.

It's the lazy folks who just don't want to work, leaching off society and contributing nothing, that most people have issues with.

Have to admit if I was moneyless and living rough I would be happy to invest afew days queuing if I could profit by $100+

Obviously these people do not have jobs. Or they stockpiled all their vacation days for this (which is a complete waste IMO). As much as I'm a fan of Apple, I would never do this.

These people are resellers. This IS their "job". They wouldn't be doing this unless they were going to make money off of it.

Professional line sitters = literally getting paid to sit on your a$$.

Obviously a publicity stunt to garner attention, but geez, two weeks is a bit extreme. The guy all the way to the left under the umbrella already looks like a bum they picked up and cleaned up a bit. Oh well, different strokes for different folks. But money talks.

I should pass by the store and give them change.

Try doing that yourself. Living out all these days on the street. It's not like they're getting paid to sit at the comfort of their own home.

So, they know that it's not going to be on the shelves on Tuesday. ... right? I can't wait until they announce a "Christmas time" release date. Just wow.

People lining up this early are either being paid to do so. Or they are hoping to sell their spot on line for$$$$.

Yup - MacRumors posters have the collective reading comprehension of a kindergartner.
The quality of article written brings in the same quality of reader. So if you want better readers/posters . . . you know what to do.

I think they should make everyone order online for the first several weeks. Then these people will leave. LMAO! This is premature. What if they instead announce the new iPad and save the iPhone until later in October....
