Really, you know his motivation, and you don't know him? :)

Since the original post mentions things like "disabilities", "can't work", "blah blah", and with facts we know like "He has an iPhone on reserve", we can safely assume why he is doing it : Attention. No matter what that account posing as him says about it.

I have known Justin for over three years, on and off, and I can tell you he is in fact disabled, and I know from personal experience that he has some pretty rough seizures. That being said, yes, I think he's damn nuts to be out there waiting a week. :) However, BECAUSE I know him, I also know that he really DOES just want to be the first to have his iPhone. In fact, he is the first person I *ever* knew to own an iPhone, and he's just a big ol' eccentric nerd. :)

I don't get why so many people are raging and ganging up against him and just being plain mean :(

He played the disability card, what did he expect, that people would pity him ? Someone too "disabled to work" yet able to withstand 7 days of camping in a hot city ?

Yeah, we're being big meanies questioning his story and not taking any comments at face value. It's called "Think Critically".

PSSST.. Just between us, you should tell him waiting in line in Dallas is a bad way to be first to get an iPhone. The East Coast will get it before Texas do...

That's pretty sad. It's funny that when you sell your soul to a corporation, you line up to pay them. I worry for today's youth.

I agree with that statement completely. What struck me out of the whole story was "his seizure disorder and no being able to work so he is going to camp out for a week." My first question, where does he get the money to camp out? That costs money. Next, where does he get the money to buy the apple products he is camping for and then the monthly services that are required?

Now some of you may be ready to pounce on me thinking I am insensitive to his "condition" but I have had seizures since I was 16. I know good and well the impact of what something like that can have on your life. I still have to take meds for it everyday.

It just struck me that he was using that as an excuse to be able to do that. That just really irks/bothers me. Yeah, when you have one, you can't drive for 6 months to a year depending on the state you live in but your life isn't over. That to me is just crazy.

Sorry for my rant and if this has been beat to death already.

you know what, its a conspiracy!, I think there is plenty of proof that its him, or maybe someone else went outside that very store and went in his tent and took photos.. and also happens to look like him too , seriously have you read the other thread?, there is enough there, the guy proved he is the one with the jwagonner account or at least provided enough to convince a lot of people he is

really, its not like he is doing anything wrong, I don't get why so many people are raging and ganging up against him and just being plain mean :(

They need to understand why he can get an iPhone if he has no income as if it's any of their business.

I understand questioning the reason why he would camp out this long for a phone, that is hard to understand, but his money situation is his concern not ours.

You don't have to believe it.. but it's him

And which of these proves that the guy behind the jwagonner account is really the guy in front of the Apple store ?

For the people who actually know Justin, we KNOW it's him, lol.... I've known him for years and I think he's damned crazy to do this... but it's TOTALLY something he would do. :) I don't know if the account "jwagonner" is him or not, but I sure as hell know that picture is him, and besides, he was on our local ABC affiliate on the news last night, and I know his face and voice VERY well, having known him over three years.

Wow, this thread is full of haters, just some of the most vitriolic statements I've ever witnessed on these forums. Lighten up.

Honestly, people do what they do, he's not harming anyone, if it's important to him let him camp out. It ain't for me but who am I to judge.

I will be there at 5am to pick up my iPhone 4 though ;):D

For those calling him an attention whore, you're forgetting that the press will often use anything for a news story. Not saying this isn't important, but for example back in 2007, I was first in line for the 7th Harry Potter book at my local barnes and noble, and the newspapers loved it. They talked about me on CNN. Same think happens at every other midnight release/premiere. So this guy may be a week early, give Justin a break.

Quote from Justin Wagoner:
"There is even a portable toilet around the back of the store if needed."

Needed??? Who can hold it for a week?

Which corporations care about their customers? They are responsible to their shareholders. Welcome to the business world. And please quit being so dramatic please, todays youth were raised by their parents, blame them.

In case you missed the point, I wasn't questioning whether the guy in front of the store is this "Justin" guy. I don't know who the heck he is anyway, nor would I care.

I was questioning whether the account jwagonner was the same guy as the guy in front of the store. I get you're his friend (though we have no way to know if that is true), but you could at least try to understand what it is you're responding to.

They need to understand why he can get an iPhone if he has no income as if it's any of their business.

I understand questioning the reason why he would camp out this long for a phone, that is hard to understand, but his money situation is his concern not ours.

Unless his money comes from frauding a government program filled with ours. Then it's very much a concern for everyone.

Judge when you don't know someone?

Idiot, Disabled? yet he can spend weeks in line for an iphone, yet another example of the profound American lazy attitude and having the government pay for your life. I guess I'm working for him too.:mad::mad:

I totally understand your frustration with American laziness... but please put that in the context of a general discussion, because he is my friend and I know him and I think he's nuts to do this, but, if you're really concerned about it, interview him and hire him to work for YOUR business. :)

You do not know what his life is like, except in the context of this situation.

He's not looking for attention? Uh, he's already got a phone on order. He's camping out for a WEEK in front of a PUBLIC store. He's gladly posting updates of his 'experience' online.

I don't know about you, but those are not the kind of things I would do if I wasn't looking for attention.

You guys still do not understand. His mind is NOT healthy. Some people even call this behavior stupid, c'mon! It is obvious the guy has a problem. So, if you see someone twitching his/her eye, will you judge him/her being stupid although you know he/she has tic?

I'm not questioning that his behaviour is stupid and irresponsible. But my point is that this has nothing to do with his alleged disability or condition. Seizure disorder does not make him mentally retarded or unable to make good judgements and decisions.

Frankly, his stupid action is not because, but despite his medical condition.

What would you say if I went there and started camping a week before launch?

I know this is going to sound insensitive but . . . thank GOD he's white! ahahah . . . i mean, i'm not white and i love people of allllllll shades of beige-brown (everyone is basically beige or brown or kinda pink) but that Apple store is in Highland Park and the Parkies would lose their MINDS if that was a large black man. Now i can't judge EVERYONE in HP but really . . . i mean it's pretty easy to stereotype parkies . . . That sounds horrible and i'm not judging him for his disability or anything but if he wasn't who he is then i'm not sure the people in that specific area would take to him camping out there and what not . . .

oh and i think it's very mean to insist that he die just because of this . . . you don't really know his situation or how things work for him . . . he has his reasons for not working . . . i go to UT Austin and see stupid orange prostitute sorority girls who have . . . seriously, no joke . . 80k dollar cars and pay 1100 dollars a month for rent and lose their iphones every other weekend . . .so it doesn't bother me that he doesn't work.

Twitter?

Hey Justin, respect dude!

I'm driving over from Shreveport to the Knox Street store next week myself where I've got one reserved.

I'm trying to decide at what point I wanna head over....based on the crowd.

Can you shoot me a pm with some way I can get in touch with you if you don't mind and ask what the crowd's like? Since it's a 2.45 hour drive I'd like to get there in plenty of time.

Yea, it's reserved, but personally I don't trust the reservation process and I'd rather get there early.

Thanks!

Yeah, we're being big meanies questioning his story and not taking any comments at face value. It's called "Think Critically".

Look, I'm not a psychologist, but I know him well enough to know that there ARE potential difficulties with him getting a job. And I know Justin well enough (3+ years) to tell you that he did NOT say he was disabled to "play" the "disability card," because I can tell you it wouldn't even enter his mind to think it was necessary to "play" ANY card at all. He was just anticipating that some people might wonder he would be able to camp out for a week, and he didn't consider (TRULY) how badly some people might think about him.

PSSST.. Just between us, you should tell him waiting in line in Dallas is a bad way to be first to get an iPhone. The East Coast will get it before Texas do...

Well, he's just trying to be first among his friends in Dallas, I wager. :)

I don't know about you, but those are not the kind of things I would do if I wasn't looking for attention.

Like his friends are saying, he's an eccentric nerd. I think one of the things one with a said personality would do is camp out for an iPhone. He didn't call up the news, he just set up camp like he's done for past iPhones.

He's been given attention, and he's not shoving it away, would you? People are interested in his story, so he's posting updates. He's not going "OMG LOOK AT ME I'M FIRST IN LINE FOR AN IPHONE ROFLMAO"

The guy has no job, not in school and yet thinks he needs the most expensive phone with one of the most expensive plans.

Whats he going to do with it? Play video games on it all day long while he's at home sitting on his butt?

You forgot to mention he may have no girlfriend too. Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet or I missed it.

He's just excited about it and wants to share his joy about getting his iPhone with other people. I know him. It's totally him.

You do not know what his life is like, except in the context of this situation.

Your right it is totally unreaonable to think that someone who can sleep on a sidewalk and camp in the summer heat should be able to hold a job. He is the worst exaple of a lazy american milkin the government for every penny. Their is zero reason why he can hold a job if he could camp on the side walk in the summer heat for a week.

Nowhere in the post you quoted is that stated as a fact. In fact (yes, it is a fact, it is closely followed by "IN MY OPINION" showing that I do not even state it as a fact. Here is the relevant sentence in case you want to see how much you failed :

I can send you a pic of my pay slip if you really want to and a picture of me sitting at work holding it up if it's going to shut you up. That's called : Backing up with evidence.

Your statement:
Questionning the fact that a person so disabled they can't work is sitting in the hot june sun for a week while taking in tax payer dollars for a gadget he doesn't need :

You stated you were questioning the fact. It was clear, to me, that your "My opinion and others opinion" and the perceived fraud he was engaged in, was you stating your's and others opinions as a FACT.
