Leave the guy alone!

Most of us cannot even understand his situation and feelings. Most of us are taking even little/stupid things for granted in life. Until you lose that little/stupid thing, you do not realize. It is easy for most of you to criticize the guy when you are in healthy state of mind.

To be fair, it's easy for most of us because most of us wouldn't do something this blatantly stupid.

Don't listen to the outrageous negative comments by the people here dude. Stick with it. It's your life, do with it as you please.

He set a goal, regardless of what it's for, and he's following through with it. How many of us can say we've done something even remotely similar to this type of conviction.

Doesn't matter if it's for a cell phone, sailing around the world solo, riding a bike from one end of the country to the other, or whatever it's for.

He's got a determination I'm willing to bet most of the negative posters here only wished they had.

If this is your mission then go for it.

ummm well he posted pics of himself and his tent and everything and even met another MR member, if you read the other thread you would have seen that :)

And which of these proves that the guy behind the jwagonner account is really the guy in front of the Apple store ?

I've never understood the camping out thing be it for a new gadget, video game, whatever. I've just always wondered how it feels a month after the fact when anybody can walk into a store and get said item - what does it mean then? I have gone to midnight releases for a few games and movies but to take a week out of your life like this just seems wacky.

To each their own I guess. I think most of us have enough responsibilities (marriages, kids, work, etc) to worry about.

And in all seriousness, someone with a seizure disorder would be playing with fire by hanging out in 100+ degree heat. I truly hope if he undergoes an episode someone is there to help him. Seems hugely irresponsible.

what's a costumer?

Haha was wondering the same thing ;) i saw it originally in the grammatical train wreck of the initial post and thought it was an error, but having seen the guy spell it the same way in a subsequent post I think he may actually believe that "customer" is spelled that way.

Apparently, the guy has a business. Besides, this argument should not be about any disability and how we can patronise people of thinking that they are unable to do certain things.

This thread is about a guy, who - from all the other activities in the world - chose to camp in front of an Apple Store for a week to wait for a new gadget and to show how dedicated he is to this new product.

Again, it's not about his disability or condition. In fact it seems that he's a pretty capable guy, he even posted here earlier (if it was indeed him). Apparently, he's got a business, which kind of makes the disability argument irrelevant, so we can treat him just like anybody else.

It's kind of odd that hardly anybody mentioned 'freak show'. Usually that happens with threads about excessive waitings and obsession with Apple hardware.

Does refusing to leave the Deans office/waiting room until he reconsidered my Application count? Because I set the alarm off, more than once.:D

Since the original post mentions things like "disabilities", "can't work", "blah blah", and with facts we know like "He has an iPhone on reserve", we can safely assume why he is doing it : Attention. No matter what that account posing as him says about it.

Idiot, Disabled? yet he can spend weeks in line for an iphone, yet another example of the profound American lazy attitude and having the government pay for your life. I guess I'm working for him too.:mad::mad:

And which of these proves that the guy behind the jwagonner account is really the guy in front of the Apple store ?
And what proves that all the people criticizing him are really hard working tax payers and not just 12 year old morons, who love bittching at people in the anonymity of the internet? Ah, that's tricky...
So, if we assume he is really the guy in front of the Apple store: How about some excuses from some posters on this forum?

This thread turned into a sad direction right from the begining.
So much for "think different".

Wow, i left this forum this morning shocked by the ripping on this guy, returning now and glancing through the responses I am frankly quite disgusted.

The vitriol being espoused here questioning the level of his disability and his ability to work is just shaming, what a load of cowardly bullies some of you are.

Arn / moderators please close this thread.

- Guy has a disability that prevents him from working : Fact stated by himself
- Guy with said disability and no paying job is waiting in line for a 2000$ over 2 years product : Fact as witnessed by this article
- Guy with said disability is a "student" so can do some kind of "office" work it seems : Fact stated in the article

Questionning the fact that a person so disabled they can't work is sitting in the hot june sun for a week while taking in tax payer dollars for a gadget he doesn't need : "Disability fraud potential" written all over it, IN MY AND OTHER'S OPINION.

Better now mister touchy feely ?

This story stinks as much as this guy will next week on launch day.

So wait, it's safer for him to have a seizure on the sidewalk at 3 a.m. in front of the Apple Store instead of somewhere where he's being supervised by other people ?

Keep them dollars rolling for the "disabled".

No wonder we honest tax paying folk never get a break, the political correct crowd would prefer to live in a box under a bridge than risk offending some guy who pretends he's disabled, IN MY OPINION.

And you know for a FACT that he collects disability from the tax payers. I am sure you pulled that FACT straight out of your a$$. Would you like a towel to clean your hands.

You guys still do not understand. His mind is NOT healthy. Some people even call this behavior stupid, c'mon! It is obvious the guy has a problem. So, if you see someone twitching his/her eye, will you judge him/her being stupid although you know he/she has tic?

how about this?

who. cares. let's just all live our own lives if we can't agree on anothers.

Cool. Portable Toilets!

"There is even a portable toilet around the back of the store if needed."

"If needed"?. Hmmm. a week is a long time.

A concert is a one time event. A phone is something you purchase and own for a long time. So they are in fact different.

Back then: "Hey did you hear Paul died and they have this fake guy acting like him?"

Now: "Hey did you hear that some guy left this next generation iPhone at a bar?"

Just different flavors of Kool-Aide!

I missed that part in the article where it said he was paid by SSI. Can you quote it for me?

And you know for a FACT that he collects disability from the tax payers. I am sure you pulled that FACT straight out of your a$$. Would you like a towel to clean your hands.

Nowhere in the post you quoted is that stated as a fact. In fact (yes, it is a fact, it is closely followed by "IN MY OPINION" showing that I do not even state it as a fact. Here is the relevant sentence in case you want to see how much you failed :

Questionning the fact that a person so disabled they can't work is sitting in the hot june sun for a week while taking in tax payer dollars for a gadget he doesn't need : "Disability fraud potential" written all over it, IN MY AND OTHER'S OPINION.

I can send you a pic of my pay slip if you really want to and a picture of me sitting at work holding it up if it's going to shut you up. That's called : Backing up with evidence.

Crazy!

Ok, the dude is nuts to be outside that Apple store in Dallas. Duh! Maybe he hasn't looked at the weather forecast for the week:
Friday 98
Saturday 98
Sunday 99
Monday 100!
Tuesday 100!
Wednesday 99
Thursday 97

I just hope he's wearing sunscreen and doesn't get heatstroke. Crazy!!!

Ya'll be nice! :)

I know Justin and he's definitely eccentric, and I about to fell out of my chair when I saw him on Macrumors, as well as on our local news here in Dallas. JUSTIN.. yes, you are nuts to be out there camped for a week, lol.... but I'll hit you up as soon as you get so I can see an iPhone 4 in person without having to endure scary lines and crowds at the Apple Store.... I will be getting one, too, but I really don't want one so badly I will wait in line for one. :)

And, yes, he really does have seizures, and some are pretty rough.

I'm honestly starting to get concerned that you can't actually read.

Don't worry about it. The politically correct lynch-mob is in full swing here.

This kid is asking for some razzing based on what he's doing. But because he mentioned the 'D'-word ... some think it's 'horrible' to joke about his silly, public, stunt to camp in front of the Apple store.

When I do something stupid, I get plenty of good natured razzing ... whether it's 'loooser', 'moroon', 'dilweed' etc. That's all this is really.

I think it's discriminating more when we say we can't razz this kid like we would anyone else ... simply because he's 'disabled.'.

It's a cockamamie stunt he's pulling, in public. We would be discriminating to NOT call him out!!! We would do the same for any non-disabled person. lol.

And which of these proves that the guy behind the jwagonner account is really the guy in front of the Apple store ?

you know what, its a conspiracy!, I think there is plenty of proof that its him, or maybe someone else went outside that very store and went in his tent and took photos.. and also happens to look like him too , seriously have you read the other thread?, there is enough there, the guy proved he is the one with the jwagonner account or at least provided enough to convince a lot of people he is

really, its not like he is doing anything wrong, I don't get why so many people are raging and ganging up against him and just being plain mean :(
