Regardless of any of this, the fact he's camping out a week in advance for a phone he's pre-ordered and has no reason to camp out for means he's a media whore. And that puts him on my sh**-list by default.

Really because he wants to have fun so that a good reason to get on him.. Oh that is so great.. I did not know he was hurting you or any one else in any way?
Sorry but your logic is full of BS as others that have nothing good to say..

24 pages for this guy and he's supposedly the loser. LOL

hahaha, best quote in this thread for sure.

I don't see the uproar over this, either way. I mean, I wouldn't go wait in line for a week for my reserved iPhone 4, but hey, this guy really wants this. I'm sure he would think you're super weird for things that you are passionate about, so it's kind of hypocritical to roast him.

Hey everyone!

I just got the phone with Channel Fox 4 News Dallas/Fort Worth. They will be coming out tonight to do a LIVE broadcast interview with the anchors speaking to me from the studio.

Watch for me! The nightly news broadcast begins at 9:00PM. ;-)

I vote to make this guy a honorary Demi-God in the forum, how many other members have gone from Newbie to Member in less than 24h, taking 28 pages of insults without judging or insulting another member and becoming page one news.. (for all the hates! some looser eh!!)

1 Vote from me. :apple:

p.s.

People do realize how much money & publicity this guy has raked in for MacRumors?

I am embarrassed to be part of MacRumors, and I've always felt welcomed here before.

From watching him on the videos it is easy to see that he is mentally "slow". I would like to know what kind of business he supposedly owns. He's camping out because he is mentally challenged and it seems like the normal thing for him to do.

P.S. Even mentally challenged people want their 15 minutes of fame.

Making a cellphone so important in your life - that you would camp out in order to get your hands on it first is idolotry..consumerist greed and ownsership of material things taken to a grotesque and extreme endpoint.

The slave workers in the Asian factories that churns this tech out just want enough money to live and feed their kids...some seemingly rich american boy has time and money to waste, waiting in line to own yet more and more belongings that he will probably just stick in a drawer and forget about when the iPhone 5 comes out.

Why not spend your holiday doing something that isn't entirely focussed on yourself and the ownership of more stuff ?

I think it's cool what JW is doing. He is also brave to participate in a forum here with so many judgmental prics. There is no courage in judgement. It's actually a cheap fearful perversion of courage.

So you're as much a coward as any of us ? Seriously, you people judging us judgemental folks need to look up the word hypocrisy sometime.

And I don't see it as judgemental to discuss anything that was discussed here. Face it, if no one had posted anything "judgemental", there would've been no discussion at all, because frankly, there is nothing else to discuss besides the guy's apparent contradictory employability status or the futility of the actual waiting in line for a phone the guy has on reserve...

I know it may be hard for you to comprehend, but there are actually some decent, kind people out in the world whose motivations aren't coverups for ulterior behavior.

And unfortunately, those "sensitive" folk will drag everyone along for the ride when a parasite latches on to them and tries to suck them dry. Political correctness is harming our society in a very bad way.

Recently, we had a disabled politician take part in a spending scandal over here. Over 1,000,000$ of public funds were used for her spending account (yes, disabled, old, lady). Some "sensitives" tried to bury the issue because, hey, who wants to throw a disabled old lady in jail uh ?

However, this "disabled old lady" was charging the state for 2000$ "diners" in 2 different cities at the same time. Was charging the state for Vegas trips at dates where she was present here (later found out it was for her daughter).

Seriously, sometimes you need to look past the "victim" and not let it affect your judgment. "Think Critically" might not be a trait of many Apple users, but it's important to society that people leave emotion out of analysing situations so as not to enable the parasites of society to leech off of it unpunished.

People, he is camping out for something he wants. So what. This is something he wants to do. Why are there so many negative comments about this. He isn't hurting anyone, not stealing, nothing at all harmful. He is not doing anything wrong. There is a difference between constructive criticism and being flat out rude. Some on here from what I have read seem to be over compensating for their own issues. So, please let's change the tone of this thread. There is no need for rudeness. If you have advice and can share something meaningful without being hurtful, then post it. If you have comments that are rude and hurtful, keep those to yourself.

Now back to Justin, have fun and stay cool.

:D keep the hypocrisy coming boys. So funny to see all the "sensitive" folk get trapped in what they are trying to denounce.

Plain fact of the matter is, sometimes negativity is required in order to see passed any emotional ties someone is trying to spin a story with. "Think Critically" involves a lot of negativity in order to get to the truth surrounding events. Call me cynical, but I'd rather be safe than sorry and I'd rather let someone fend for themselves then get abused. I'd also understand someone letting me fend for myself if there was any uncertainty in the situation I was seeking help for.

...

This guy is planning to camp in line for a week. Although, somebody offered their bathroom, his original plan must have included not to shower for a whole week.

Have you seen any spare underwear or socks in his tent? I suppose, Superman can hide in shame. When it comes to stink, an ordinary guy with a week-old underwear will do. Summer heat in Dallas will finish the job.
Now have a look at his suitcase – I guess you missed it.

I presume that anything he needs, including clean underwear, is where it belongs... in his suitcase!

"Sensitivity training" is a know psychiatric brainwashing technique to disable people from rejecting decisions made by others. Been around training to counteract this mentally and legally.

Whenever some "progressive" says I am not sensitive enough, I start to dig up crap on them of what they are trying to hide and justify. One guy got fired in the middle of an investigation for all the porn he was hiding at his work computer.

All the anger and criticism here I see is a good thing. I don't take crap from social parasites and, thankfully, the majority does here too.

"Peace and love???" Meh. What you hiding?

Wow... um, I think this statement says more about you than anyone else.

Also, let me ask this. Why does it matter whether you judge some one if what they are doing isn't harming anyone? If it's not harming anyone then what do you care?!!

Sure, if he's doing something harmful, I'm not going to say let's just be sensitive. But camping out a week early affects no one but him. Who are we to tell him what should be fun if he isn't harming some one? You're not him. What you find enjoyable he may find equally stupid, ever think of that?

You're right, I should not have put that emotion there. But the bottom line is, this guy is doing something he wants to do. Why is it important for some to be negative towards him. There hasn't been any constructive criticism, that I have read in this thread. Everyone has an opinion and that is great, but keep the opinions that are not useful out of the thread. Comments like stupid, fag or whatever are not useful and do not provide any benefit to the thread. This is a young man waiting in line for something he wants. This does not impact anyone negatively.

lol seriously?, its just a topic on a internet forum, some people are taking it way too personally and by that I mean the ones acting butthurt about him doing what he wants to do, some people are sticking up for him and if you find something like that humorous.... whatever

as for your second paragraph, whats with this whole "think critically" thing you keep going on about? :p, rather be safe then sorry?, let someone fend for themselves?, cut past emotional ties? what?, lol its a guy camping outside a apple store for a iPhone :p

I'm not the one who brought it up actually, early in the thread, some hyper sensitive "Please leave Britney alone!" clone said "Whatever happened to Think Different ?", obviously not understanding the meaning of Apple's catchy slogan in the first place.

And last I checked, I never commented on the camping out part except as to how it relates with the disability part. That is the main target of my commentary.

I also don't see how people are "butthurt" by this guy camping out. Arn posts a story, there's a discussion tied to it. We discuss. There's no personal tie of any kind here, I'm not even an American tax payer.

It's funny how everytime someone disagrees or posts something negative, he's always "taking it too personally" and is "butthurt". Seriously, one sided discussions are boring, it's nice to have different perspective, and not one perspective is more butthurt than the other. We could say the same about the "sensitive" crowd, hey, this is just Internet discussion, why are you guys so butthurt about us calling him a faker ?

Also, let me ask this. Why does it matter whether you judge some one if what they are doing isn't harming anyone? If it's not harming anyone then what do you care?!!

Well, I see a lot of folk questioning whether or not he was harming people. Disability, comp, tax payer money... sorry if you don't feel harmed by someone abusing the system you work your butt off to pay into, living in a socialist state and losing about 60% of my income to different taxes, I can't help but think abusers are harmful to myself and others around me.

And again, keyword : Questioning. Not ascertaining facts. Merely asking questions about presented facts and offering commentary and opinion.

I also don't see how people are "butthurt" by this guy camping out. Arn posts a story, there's a discussion tied to it.
Really? Because half the posts I see in this thread are nothing more than "omg what a loser that guy is!!" without any other merit or discussion implied. We must be reading different forums...

Here is a question, does it state in this thread that he is indeed on disability? I may have missed that fact? So people are automatically assuming something and sharing their opinion on something that may or may not be true? You are assuming he is abusing the system or is there personal knowledge of this?

Rating (137 Positives; 448 Negatives)

I'd say it's much more than half who think he's a loser.

I saw the length of this thread and had to take a look because I'm surprised at all of the people spending time commenting on something they view as so negative.

I simply don't think it's newsworthy and wouldn't waste my time unless he turned it into a charity push or something to spin it positively. In my opinion the newsworthy aspect of this is the number of haters that care to comment and obviously commit time while at the same time saying it's a waste.

 lulwut?, whatever makes your day better :p

lol :p, it makes the discussion more interesting, I think its fair enough for someone to defend what they are trying to say, mainly I think its a bit unfair for him because of those who have been rude towards the guy and insulting him for just doing what he wants, you have been more paranoid and a bit over curious into his personal life :p, in the end I fail to see why it matters so much but its the internet.

if you feel so strongly do and say what you want but there are much worse things he could be doing with his spare time and money, as far as I was concerned, he is 'somewhat disabled', even if he receives benefits its his choice to do with the money as he pleases, he gets the money, maybe they give him more then he needs to live on, its not like he takes the money as he pleases, that issue is with the government, but in the end he gets given the money, however he stated he wasn't buying the iPhone with any benefit money, he was buying it with his savings which it sounds like he has earned though doing work and I am happy to go along with that, doesn't bother me enough to 'think critically', if anyone cares enough not to believe his story and is worried about what he is doing with enough money to blow on stuff like that then they should have more of a issue with the government for giving it to him in the first place, as far as I am concerned its his personal life and some people seem to care just a bit too much

I was mainly aiming my responses to those who are just being rude and insulting.

Actually I have had several test and EEG's run. I'm non-epilepic. The doctors aren't sure what causes them. I'm disabled because they prevent me from been able to drive leaving no choice but to get around on the bus when needed.

Oh, I know, my aunt is the same way. Started having seizures when she was about 9, wasn't epilepsy, don't know what it really is, but it must be a disability. Now she is 44 rears old and a complete invalid.

All I'm saying is don't let them make you think it's a "disability". Because it's not.

This person who claims he can't work is doing all of this off our tax dime.

I know this thread is huge so few will read everything but its nice of you to jump to that conclusion, previously Justin (that guy) came into the thread to address that, he has said he isn't using any benefits that he receives to pay for it and is spending his own savings, money that he has earned to buy it

there are several people who are still suspicious or whatever so I am not saying that like its fact, but figured I would at least say what he has said as I figure you have not read the entire thread and wouldn't know that :p

If he can do this, he can work. Even if he's not buying the phone with our money, he's living off our money.
