I've read it over and over again, but I can't find where he says he is on disability benefits?

There's a lot of bashing on the assumption that he is claiming people's 'hard earned tax dollar', but no where does he state that or even allude to it. He may be one of the fortunate few who has a private income; it's not inconceivable.

While I agree that remarking on having disability and spending a week camping may raise a few questions, I am not in full possession of the facts, and I'm not about to judge the guy on spurious speculation.

I agree with you. I do not see anything about him collecting a check from the government. With the known facts, he could just be mooching off his parents.

Hence why I said "IN MY OPINION" many times like nicely asked by zin. What's wrong with stating my opinion ?

Nothing's wrong with stating your opinion; it's the opinion itself that stinks. You simply are not in possession of facts that show that anyone is being "abused" by supporting this kid. Forming strong opinions without the facts to support them is the root of many of the evils within our society.

Timmmay!!!!

Hopefully he pre-ordered a phone ... I have a feeling that most of the stock is accounted for already. That would SUCK to camp out for a week and not get a phone. Scratch that. It would SUCK even if you ended up getting the phone.

Yes, denouncing what "Might be disability fraud IN MY OPINION" is the root of many of the evils of society.

You know who's the worst evil in society ? The political correct crowd. Thread carefully around these folks, because they might have you lynched for stating a disabled person doesn't seem so disabled...

Again, IN MY OPINION.

That's not insensitive, that's ignorant. You don't know what he has to deal with, you just assume everyone can handle things, because you don't have empathy. Walk a mile in his shoes, buddy.

Anyway, he has a valid excuse, every else who lines up on the other hand...

I've worked with several people who suffered from seizure disorders. One guy on his best days would only have two seizures a day, it's NOT a disability. It's called a lack of work ethic AKA lazy.

Maybe this guy will get his own reality television show. Enough people here seem to be infatuated with this little show and producers try to make money off anything with a buzz.

Mine is being shipped to my home.

Although, this is really no different than waiting in line for an hour to ride a roller coaster for 90 seconds. Sometimes, the thrill of the hunt/the anticipation is the best part.

It's a phone!

Give me a break.

I can understand being excited about getting a new phone. But this sort of behavior is more about an addiction to having the latest and greatest gadgets than about the functionality of the new phone.

As if waiting for Beatles concert tickets on their first American tour is any different?

None. Both are idiotic. Beatles , even more so.

A concert is a one time event. A phone is something you purchase and own for a long time. So they are in fact different.

You lose.

Joining the "Of course he can work" crew.

If he can safely spend a week in the sun without medical attention, he could do an office job.

exactly, drop him in china or india and in no time he'll be employee of the month.

he's just flaunting his free lunch.

It's not disability fraud. You know nothing about him. Unless you are his doctor and helped facilitate disability fraud.

Hey everyone, let's grill KnightWRX who is clearly an accessory to fraud!

And you know it's not fraud, how?

LMAO

I love all the comments about this guy not working. As if the commenters on this board are models of productivity and efficiency.

The people making your computers for slave wagers are saying the same thing about people with time to post on message boards at work.

Valid REASON, not excuse. An excuse implies something different.

While I do not agree with you totally, I see your point. Again - it is not an excuse but a reason.

I do agree with your well placed 'walk a mile' quote. I think the world would be much better if more people had EMPATHY and less smart-ass.

D

- Guy has a disability that prevents him from working : Fact stated by himself
- Guy with said disability and no paying job is waiting in line for a 2000$ over 2 years product : Fact as witnessed by this article
- Guy with said disability is a "student" so can do some kind of "office" work it seems : Fact stated in the article

Questionning the fact that a person so disabled they can't work is sitting in the hot june sun for a week while taking in tax payer dollars for a gadget he doesn't need : "Disability fraud potential" written all over it, IN MY AND OTHER'S OPINION.

So wait, it's safer for him to have a seizure on the sidewalk at 3 a.m. in front of the Apple Store instead of somewhere where he's being supervised by other people ?

Keep them dollars rolling for the "disabled".

No wonder we honest tax paying folk never get a break, the political correct crowd would prefer to live in a box under a bridge than risk offending some guy who pretends he's disabled, IN MY OPINION.

Why don't we just stick to the facts! Everyone is assuming that this guy is collecting a disability check! Maybe he has generous family. Just don't know enough about the situation to criticize.

Granted I don't want my tax dollars supporting anyone elses I-addiction. I would rather keep more of my money for my I-addiction. I don't believe we know for a fact that this guy is using disability benefits at all.

Seriously, I think their is justified resentment for those of us who work an save to have a nice life and then watch our tax dollars wasted. We see it all the time. However, I would rather not assume this guy is doing anything wrong unless proven otherwise.

You know the whole free country thing and live and let live. I do believe in that.

He stated he already has a pre-order for the new phone, so he's not waiting in line just to be the first one to get "the latest and greatest gadget." For him, it's clearly about the experience itself; I'm sure he's met (and will meet) lots of people interested in what he's doing, he'll eventually garner other linemates of similar interests with their own interesting stories to tell, he likes being a part of the launch event of a device that really is groundbreaking in a few ways, and it's something he's passionate about and interested in. It's not "sick" behavior and it doesn't make him a "sad" individual. Yes, everyone here has the "right" to speak their mind... I don't think anyone is questioning that. I just think it's rather surprising (and sad, really) how quick a great number of people seem to completely dismiss someone over something so insignificant. Chill with the vitriol...

He hasn't had a vacation in 10 years so he decides to go camping... on a city sidewalk?! Is that even legal? I really wonder if social services or some mental health professionals should be involved. I'm not even joking.
