Somebody end the suspense already!
MackelYnarp - please, keep us posted on this. I've been scouring the 'net trying to find someone who can give a definitive, proven answer on this and all I keep finding are people who have jailbroken their phones in the US but nothing relating to Canada.
It's interesting because those whom have jailbroken their iPhones in the US are "tethering" but via MyWi or other such WiFi sharing methods, after Apple took away Netshare off the AppStore. Nothing about actual tethering via Bluetooth which AT&T doesn't allow anyway.
It's obvious with Rogers announcement that they are planning on having iPad plans but could those just be for those who don't have an iPhone to tether to?
I've also read conflicting views - some people saying it's because the iPad and/or iPhone can only act as a slave device, not a master, that is the reason they cannot tether together but would like some actual proof of someone trying to do it Canada with a non-jailbroken iPhone.
I mean, of course there are other options (3G model, buy a MyWi, jailbreak) but they involve either outlaying more for another data plan (3G or Rogers MyWi) or going through the jailbreak process (as if I don't have enough problems...) 🙁
