I had 3 devices on the pre-order page and my sister at her place waiting for 12:01.Order placed, but the app opened the store late. Tried to do store pick up but it sold out quick. By the time I went through the process I missed the first shipment. 🙁

my sister accidently order through apple.com instead of .caI wonder if it's our carrier internet backbone that screwed us. (I'm on Fido - so Rogers infrastructure) - either of my i-devices were getting through. One was on cellular, one on my home wifi. (that was with the App).
Maybe the Americans do have an advantage...maybe there's more servers allocated for the US (that'd be a pretty crappy thing for Apple to do) - it really should be load balanced across NA.

Apple's really changed things with this launch. It was one big bucket before. It appears that the carriers and Best Buy have their own allocations. (checked on Best Buy after I ordered and they were still showing Nov 3rd, but you had to order on a carrier contract - no unlocked phones).
It shouldn't actually get charged to your card until the status of your order changes to "Preparing for Shipment" - at least, that was the case in the past. Website finally worked at 3:06. Got an order for nov 3 using Apple Pay literally seconds before they went to 2-3 weeks.

Then I got an email from Apple saying they were having problems with my payment and I needed to correct it. Thankfully apple is super cool and don't cancel the order on you immediately and give you some time to correct things. So I called Visa and was told that I should not have selected Apple Pay at check out because there is a limit and I needed to select credit card payment instead. I then went to the Apple Store online and corrected things. All went through and now my order status is "Order In Progress" still with November 3rd delivery.
Does anyone know what the Apple Pay purchase limit is? If so, is there a way to increase it?
As I'm sure you can imagine I wanted to throw up when I read the notification saying payment was declined.

Both CCs that gave me grief were MasterCards. Maybe I should get me a Visa.Strange. I paid via visa with Apple Pay and had no issues at all
We've seen a lot of people have the app mess up and not let them into the store until several minutes after the start. I'm thinking Apple's Inktomi web caching servers screwed up and were still giving us a cached version of the store (when they should have been letting us through). Hence why the web store opened sooner for a lot of us (they go to different groupings of servers).
Cheeses me off as I had the app all setup....I would have had a 3rd delivery for sure if that wouldn't have happened!!!
Just got a call from the CC fraud department for the card that declined the Apple Pay transaction. It was flagged by their system as possible fraud.Strange. I paid via visa with Apple Pay and had no issues at all
