It is definitely BS that they even ship any units to stores at all, and make the people who preordered wait 3 weeks. Basically, I reserved a phone, and they say "we will give it to you in 3 weeks" and then they take 100,000 of them off the production line and sell them to walk-in customers. The whole preordering system is a sham.

Wonder how many scalpers we're on line, probably 80% were scalpers dam hopefully they can't make any profits
I was watching a few eBay auctions this morning out of curiosity, and one of them (256GB) from Surrey ended at $1700 CDN. The guy would have paid $1712 himself. Sucks for him! Haha.

My early impression of the X is massive screen in a smaller form. I find that to be perfect.

Face ID has been perfect so far.

Can’t wait to really test this puppy out, after work. :D
[doublepost=1509727794][/doublepost]On another note: are we all still stuck on Nov 21-28? What the hell is going on?!:(

In my lineup there were endless stories of how everyone got shafted by the preorder system on October 27... almost everyone that I talked to saw their order jump to Nov 21-28, even though they were right there at 3:01. One poor guy even had his order number created but never received the confirmation email, Apple told him "sorry, must have been a glitch but we can't help you". In a way I was glad that at least those people were there because they genuinely wanted to get their hands on the iPhone X for themselves.

On which bases Apple picks those for earlier deliveries? This is really not fair. They should explain their logic behind their decisions to bump up others while leaving others behind. I live in a major dowtown city, loyal to Apple for decades, ordered X within minutes and my 21-28 Nov. date did not move up.
APPLE YOU REALLY SUCK!

I have feeling that they want me to click on Cancel button.

Nope!

I'M STUCK ON 20-27

But no problem Apple, you go ahead and make sure every walk in and carrier order is fulfilled before you touch mine...

Oh, one more thing that was REALLY REALLY annoying at the Sherway Gardens store this morning.... some (not all) of the staff talked to the customers like idiots when they questioned the low stock numbers/Space Grey 64 only being available.. "well you see, that's because you should have preordered online if you wanted 256gb" -yes, we know that lady, we ALL tried to do that already!

Couldn’t agree more with everyone, scalpers get 6 or 7 for profit and Apple gladly makes us wait while they just get them like nothing....... everyone who walked in is lucky but I have sent any movement, while stores are getting stock throughout the week

I want to cancel to. I'm just hoping that I'm able to reserve one tomorrow or that we see a bump of at least a week on Saturday. If I really have to wait until Nov 28, I will cancel both of my phones. The allure is starting to wear off now that I'm seeing everyone already have it. Not to mention the phone i really want, the X+ is less than 10 months away.

Anyone go to Pacific Centre or Oakridge? Wondering if I'm stupid for even thinking I could walk in after lunch today and pick up a 64gb model....

They made sure that some will feel lucky and others will feel loosers. Very desturbing from the company that presents itself to be something special. They should not have anyone lined up in front of the stores until they deliver to us who stayed awake half of the night on Oct. 27.
Creating the lines to fake popularity.

Went to the Apple Store in Square one at lunch to look at the X (mine is coming in 2 weeks), and one guy approaches me and said "hey I just bought 2, do you want to buy one'... I said no thanks. He's like... are you sure? I have it right here.

He tried this inside the store with about 4-5 different people whilst I was there. No one said a word to him.

ups called...there was an issue with my address.im getting it monday.
seriously annoying
UPS strikes again. I have a vendetta with FedeX and UPS. Awful, awful companies.

lol i would think that Apple would try to kick this guy out of the store once they were wise to what he was doing. It's a pretty big liability for them to allow that.

To everyone complaining about the pre-order process, I think we all need to take a step back and understand that the complexity of having that many people order world-wide is far beyond what we probably understand, and I'm fairly confident that no one at Apple was sitting in their pre-order war room making sure some got screwed over.

The sheer number of different people all trying to access the site at the same time, not to mention the fact that in different countries the ordering process is very different (the states having carrier versions, versus ours all being unlocked, for example) must make it literally impossible to have a pure "First-come, first served" system. It just wouldn't be feasible. There must be so many intricacies with internet connection, timing, etc. that they have to do their best, with the programs they have in place, and trust their systems.

Yes, some people are going to get screwed in one way or another - I was in that boat last year with the 7+ and fortunately was not this year - but I am positive that no one is sitting in the Apple boardroom watching for any of your orders to come in to make sure they can put them behind others' orders. That's ridiculous. We just have to accept that it's as much a lottery system as anything else, and live with that fact. It's no different than trying to order concert tickets, etc.

Okay, rant over. I'm just tired of all the "woe is me" posts in this thread.

Problem is, there are many things Apple could have done to alleviate the problem after the fact, but they are actively choosing not to. In fact, they are helping certain later groups over other earlier ordering ones, which completely flies in the face of their FCFS motto.

I feel that it's just not a great process for those who stayed up to pre-order. You have a group that got very limited access to launch date and then you have a larger group that has to wait and see a great number of people across the world get updated and earlier shipping dates. Then to hear stories of people just walking into Telus and getting one or having these line ups. Apple needs to communicate better how and why some are getting better shipping times and the people who are paying full-price to Apple are not receiving any word on why their orders are staying in limbo.

Complexity is not the problem if it can be more simple and more transparent.
1. Why to sell small certain number of units if you did not finished delivery of orderes made on Oct. 27th? To show to the world that everyone is just dying to have the product.
2. Why not to treat people equally? We all get when the inital date shows or we all get moved up.

No complaining here it is what it is, but if you look at the american threads many are saying they are able to simply walk into the store and buy. Seems like the shortage hype was blown way out of proportion.

Your comparison to concert tickets is irrelevant. That is true first come first serve based system. This is not! I'm pissed that I put in an order at 3:05AM, 20 seconds after the store became available to me, yet people in the US that ordered at 3:15AM have their phones by now or stores are getting hundreds of stock while I don't even have a shipping notification.

Nobody is stupid enough to think they are screwing us on purpose but the fact is they are prioritizing orders WRONG.
