dang it that long layover in korea killed it. ups now shows mine is rescheduled for after the long weekend on tuesday...
If your local UPS CC has Saturday hours, you could try holding it at the CC in the off chance it arrives there Saturday (but won't do you any good if it arrives Sunday) :) Most have early morning hours, so would allow you to snag it early on Tuesday as well.

Today was really Calgary's day. I went on at 6:05 and took my sweet time (because of slow cellular network) and got a reservation in. Then I went to the "buy" page and found they had in store pickup available, so I purchased that one and then cancelled my reservation. It was really nice to not have to race the clock for once. Now I just need to figure out the best way to return my online order, which just shipped a few hours ago.

I sure hope something like that happens in Toronto today.

Did these show up as available in the Apple Store app or do you have to go to the website?

Heh...yeah...you can't cancel it now (once it ships, you're stuck with it).

Just don't open it....return it to the store with all of the plastic intact (hell, maybe don't even open the box it's shipped in, so if there's any problems with the contents, you can't be held liable.

Heh...I figured after yours shipped you were just going to wait. :)

It's the same inventory - whether you use the App or the website.

You SHOULD be using iStocknow to get alerts though....otherwise you have very little chance in jumping on one before they're gone.

I got 10 emails last night around 11 PM that the stores I was watching (Edmonton and Calgary) had all received stock. So since it was late at night, I figured I would have pretty good luck in the morning.

I wish I had that kind of patience!

Heh...I can't talk...got a reservation for a 256 on the Saturday, then got the 64 the next day. :) (then cancelled my pre-order)
Just got lucky (and was using the browser version of iStocknow to get the alerts as fast as I could). Still feel bad about only using that 256 for a day....such a waste....but, it'll go into Apple's warranty stock.

I was surprised the 256 was available this morning at 6:00am. I guess I have to wait for my 64 till next week.

Not necessarily - the stores are getting trickles of stock in, but they're also getting reservation/pickup cancellations. You really should be setting an alert up and keeping an eye out for your phone. You need to jump on it quickly (as there's lots of others doing the same) :)

Anyone else's order stuck in ZhengZhou China .... Seems to be moving pretty slow there. UPS shows my order sitting for 24 hours. Hopefully things will move soon. UPS still shows delivery on Monday. Confirmed they are working on Nov 13th in Ontario.

Today was BC's day. Looks like Saturday is all Alberta. I'm seeing 256's everywhere. Enjoy your day Alberta. :)

Right! If my pre order wasn’t on its way I would go and pick one up. All good, I’ll just wait it out! #yyc

I am going to blame that clown of a president as he is in korea, probably why the shipment is delayed.

"these UPS planes are hugggeeeeee, there doing great work, great work!"

It's weird. Mine still shows delivery on Friday. Still stuck in Korea, hopefully it got on UPS99 about an hour ago to Anchorage but still no sign of a departure scan from UPS. Refreshing refreshing refreshing

yeah. lots of stock for 256gb in Calgary today. I got a reservation in, but still debating to go to the store. My pre-order is on it's flight to Calgary and gonna be here 11-14.

Mine left Korea, but was rescheduled for Tuesday. So most likely none of us are getting the phones before the long weekend.

11/7 7:52 pm arrival
11/8 11:00 pm departure
So yours is in the air right now while mine might not be on this flight. Your delivery may go back to friday once it gets to Anchorage. It also depends on where youre heading after Anchorage. Do you know from past preorders?

Pretty sure everything goes through Louisville with this shipping method, sadly.
It usually does and it might be the reason youre being rescheduled to Tuesday. Look for a previous flight pattern from Louisville to your destination because the fact that youre in Vancouver might delay it. I'm in Quebec City and now signs of rescheduling...

Don't feel too bad about it, it's more important to pick the storage that's right for you. I'm on a 64 and I've been kicking myself thinking that I should've got the 256. As of today, I still have 40GB free and I've synced all my music and photos. Considering that I was on a 16GB before (albeit full), not surprising that the 64 is g2g for me. What I figured is that if you don't need the extra storage, it's a complete waste. You also won't get the resale value back for the increased storage. It also depends on how long you plan on keeping the phone. If this is a 2-3 year play for you, 64GB will get pretty tight around then and be a really low storage option (especially once 4k becomes more mainstream). I'm keeping mine for less than a year so 64 is plenty.

I know when I get the X+ (which I'll be keeping for 2-3 years), I'll definitely get the highest storage option to protect against that.

Yeah, I think 64's going to be fine for awhile. I have another 50GB in iCloud storage....much cheaper to bump that up if I want to have more content available on the go. Also subscribe to Apple Music, so only have a few playlists downloaded to the phone.

In terms of 4k video, it's really just about how much you need to have on your phone....if you're able to get to your Mac/PC easily enough, to can transfer that over wifi or lightning pretty quickly.

Well, we've seen some western shipments from Anchorage to Ontario, CA - so, the question is, does Apple stock ever ship from Ontario, CA to BC? (ie - do they do customs clearance in Vancouver or just at the Mount Hope (Hamilton) airport?)

Has anyone returned an online order to a retail store? Just wondering what the process is and if they even allow this?

We would need someone frome that region who already went through the preorder process to answer this question...

I really don't see them giving you a hard time. I was surprised how easily they let me return the 256 that I only had for a couple of days. Pretty much no questions asked. :)

Just do a print-out of your receipt and take it with you. Make sure everything's back in the box just as you received it.
