Well, we might need to still suffer haters... a Verizon iPhone ain't happening anytime soon. No, the January keynote will be about the iPad, not iPhone.

I'm pretty certain a Verizon iPhone is happening. John Gruber seems to agree and we know that he is quite connected.

So that all of you haters can get off my AT&T network. I cannot wait to see people start crying about Verizon network next year...
LTE network won't be ready and current Verizon service will be heavy loaded with iPhone users. If enough people make switches, then AT&T will start lowering the monthly plans and focus on signals way more.

Please go to Verizon and get off AT&T network. My 3G speed is already at 4-5 MB/sec. I would expect almost like 4G speed on my 3G network. Please go to Verizon.

I'm tired of people like you making post like this. I'm not an AT&T hater, but where I live I only get edge network which is extremely slow. At home I use wifi, but when I'm out, I hate that I cannot always get a signal.

With verizon where I live I get 3G so it's a no brainer for me if Verizon gets the iPhone. Stop trying to stir up trouble.

Not even close. Poor Verizon fanboy. Verizon does have more customers, after outright buying Alltell which was a carrier people fled to from Verizon. Also, that aside, Verizon does not handle the amounts of mobile data AT&T does. Never. Recall, AT&T mobility might be new, but AT&T Inc (or its Mother AT&T Co), has been around since early 1890s. They have handled more data than what you can imagine (even data through TAC-1).

In any case, iPhone users do more data transfers than Droid or Pre users do. Just go online and check the comparison charts.

The statistics show that Verizon customers already use more data on smartphones than AT&T users do. Stop hating against verizon users. You sound like your an AT&T fanboy.

I used all carriers and for me, Verizon has the best network WHERE I LIVE. I'm not speaking for other states, just mine. I love the iPhone, so that's the only reason I'm with at&t

Are you on Verizon now?

If you are on Att why in the world did you choose a carrier where you only get edge network and when you are out can't always get a signal?

Lol, Verizon 3G, just a mere 1Mb/s more than EDGE in data transfer. AT&T, well.....

Like I have already stated, the reason I'm with AT&T is I love the iPhone and plenty of people complain about At&t and dropped calls, i read it n this forum all the time I actually did drop AT&T for a few months last winter for the Droid on Verizon (btw veriozon is much faster than AT&T edge network), but I hated the Droid. I missed my iPhone terribly so I bought a iPod touch hoping that would sustain me, but then the announcement came for the iPhone 4 and I caved. I don't hate AT&T, I just like Verizon better but you guys on here are acting like a bunch of psychos over AT&T.

Get over it.

It's just beyond me why you would choose a carrier that doesn't offer satisfactory coverage.

Marc

It doesn't mean current AT&T customers will immediately leave to Verizon, but it will be a process as people's contracts start to end. Good enough for me. Anyways, over here, AT&T is normally 3000kbps and Verizøn is 1200kps. Umm yeah ... hell no.

Life is full of tradeoffs. Olivia 23 has decided that the iPhone is worth it in exchange for less stellar coverage. It might not be what you or I would decide to do, but is it really so hard for you to understand? People make trade offs about all sorts of things every day...

Wrong.

Wow, you just got completely and utterly owned with one word (and link). I've never done that before.

Why would this ever be relevant information in this day and age?

This is why I want Apple to have an option for Verizon.

Rather than having every iPhone users on AT&T, half of the people or more, would go to Verizon just because it's change in their eyes.

Then AT&T would show it's true speeds and reliability at a cheaper price.

Maybe even bring back unlimited data!!!

AT&T is used to the many people on there service and worked many things out, so they are the alpha dog and keeping up with the many users.

As for Verizon, that ain't so.

Thats why I am sticking with AT&T when many people switch to Verizon.

Not sure I would say half or 50% of ppl would leave AT&T for Verizon, I think we might be looking at roughly 10-15% maybe all depends on if it comes out, and what the specs are, apps store, what Verizon does to limit the experience, etc.

I just hope when or if Verizon gets the iPhone we split this forum into 2 sub-forums one for ATT and one for Verizon. This way I don't have to hear all the people bitching about how Verizon's network sucks

AT&T well.... hopefully you'll even get a 3G signal unless you're near some big city. Oh, also, dropped calls.

Incorrect. Check 45651, then check the population in that zip.
While you're at it check 45710 and 45656. 5 bars of 3G in all these areas.

Over the past few weeks, I have had 3G the entire way to work. I travel 60 miles one way everyday and cross the state line into WV.

Really looking forward to Verizon getting the iPhone. The Verizon lovers and whiners will move on to their Nirvana and AT&T bandwidth will be freed up. Maybe even stupid threads like this will come to an end. Can't happen soon enough. :D

Why do people think the iPhone will destroy Verizon's network? Verizon's network handles more traffic than AT&T and it's fine. They have a ton of Droid phones that don't bog down the network. Does the iPhone just consume way more data than any other phone?

I was really trying hard to stay off this thread, buy half? Really? Where'd you pull that statistic out of? I'd be floored if 10% of AT&T's iPhone customers left for Verizon if they were to receive it.

Fanboyism has no end.... but you are right. Eventually the network will ease up. $77/month (with tax) for 450/5000, unlimited data and 1500 texts... here and usually get 2-3 Mb/s down and 1-1.3Mb/s up. I also ain't going anywhere.
You talk about fanboyism and your the biggest one here defending AT&T's mediocre service. It's a shame really !!!!!

I was simply stating the other person who stated that a lot of ppl would leave, is incorrect, I don't think 1/2 will leave, I think it might be 10% or less.

There were some polls done about AT&T and more then 79% of the ppl on AT&T said they are happy.

From coast to coast I doubt that very seriously.

I don't live in a big city, not even near one (2 hrs or so to the nearest "big city"). Yet at least 3 bars at work... in the walk in refrigerator.

Outside the fridge, I average 4.5

Mediocre service? Really? I get 3-4 Mb/s down on 5 bars wherever I go on Southern Louisiana (exclude some marshes here-n-there where there are more crocs than people).

Wrong.

Research firm < AT&T or Verizon's data analytics

Stay classy

Are you repeating that every where you go, or have you bothered using AT&T? My trip from New Orleans, LA to Houston, TX was categorized by nonstop fast 3G coverage (1.3 to 2.4Mb/s average). I exited on small towns, 3G was there. Dropped calls? None, until I hit Houston downtown metro; and only then there was 3 calls out of perhaps 30 I made.

In New Orleans, dropped calls amount o 1 a month; literally.
