I updated on my Mini and was expecting it to be a bit laggy. It's silky smooth and the transitions in and out of apps are lag free.

I'm not surprised that iPad 3's are having issues. I thought my iPad 3 struggled with iOS6 most of the time. It just wasn't fast enough for that resolution and clearly why Apple released a speed bump upgrade only six months later.

EDIT: I am noticing the Mini's lack of system ram though. Safari constantly has to reload webpages with tabbed browsing. It seems that iOS itself is using up a lot more available ram.

I just found that the stuttering from any Application to the Home Screen, only happens if i use the 4 finger gesture. Because if i just hit the Home Button, it goes "buttery smooth".....

So, the Hardware clearly Handles it well. They just have to fix the 4 finger Gesture !

Working fine for me on an iPad 2, but the folders limited to just a 3x3 grid is absurd. Why waste all of that screen real estate?

I have folders filled with web shortcuts. 7.0 no longer returns you to the open folder so that you can open other apps/shortcuts like in 6.1.3. You have to go back and open the folder again and scroll to whatever page you were on.

I downgraded back to 6.1.3 on my 4S and Mini. Apple is still signing them as of this very minute.

My thoughts on some apps(i have the ipad 4)

Music app - it is very laggy. Songs are not playing, i had to turn off my ipad for it to work

Safari - snappier! I just dont like the blue download bar on the tabs, it seems small. They should have put it on the address bar instead.

Message app - nice seeing the time stamp on every message

Apps folder - too big!

Not surprising. That's exactly what happened with my iPad 1 when I upgraded to 5.x.

Rotate the orientation of your device on the home screen and tell us again how its buttery smooth. Also if you have folders notice how they flicker...... If you somehow magically found a method around this let us know.

Tried both and my iPad mini neither stuttered nor flickered.

I tried it for a day on my mini. Laggy transitions bothered me. But mostly I don't like the overall look. I don't like the bright colors, or all that white.

I know someday I'll have no choice but to upgrade, but for now, I reverted to 6.1.3. Feels very good to be back on iOS 6. Everything is smooth again, and most importantly, easy on the eyes.

How did you revert back? I asked that question in another thread and was told I can't downgrade from iOS 7 to iOS 6.1.3

Then someone posted a link to the 6.1.3 firmware and I download those. It mentioned restoring via iTunes in DFU mode. Is that how you downgraded?

Same here, using gestures to close apps on the mini, the transition stutters then pops into the home screen. Home screen button is smooth. Leaving my ipad 4 on ios 6 for the time being.

It's working well on my iPad mini. I think the new colours offset the resolution somewhat. Not that I had any problems with it but I think the bright colours make the screen brighter. It works really well on my mini but surprisingly even better on my touch.

Apple may very well haved stopped signing anything but 7.0 now so it may no longer be possible to downgrade. I downgraded my Mini and 4S at about 4AM.

I keep reading that. What does not mean?

Before an iOS version can be installed on an iPhone/iPad/iPod, it basically asks Apple for permission to install that iOS version. If Apple does not give permission for that version, the downgrade will not be possible. Apple usually stops allowing downgrades of previous iOS versions a day or two after release of the new version.

It's much more complicated than this but this is the easy to understand version.

Thanks for the explanation ! :)

IOS 7 slow

Apps download 10 times slower. On iPad 4. iPhone 5, is 5 times slower with new system. Also the Smart Cover does't work now! Hope there is a fix soon!

It's been running very nicely on my mini, haven't noticed any lag, been mostly using Safari, which I like, seems better use of screen space (a good thing on a mini). I especially just love the control panel, swipe up from the bottom and you've got the AirPlay control right there, rather than double-click, swipe icons left at least twice - that UI change is well worth it for me.

I agree the OS doesn't seem perfectly optimised for the additional real estate of the iPad, but I expect an update from Apple soon to hone and polish some of those sorts of things, I'm just totally surprised iOS 7 was available for iPads the same day it was made available for iPhones - I'd completely expected a staggered release as they finished the iPhone version first (to coincide with the iPhone refresh) and took an extra month to finish the iPad version, so I'll easily overlook any of those sorts of issues for a month at least.

The icons look hideous. And take a look at the Timer app on the iPad. That's just embarrassing.

I take it the first dead horse has been beaten to boredom (or everyone else's annoyance?) and so another dead horse (iOS7 on the iPad) had to be located, much to some people's delight, "hooray, here's a dead horse we haven't beaten yet."

Pound away, and eventually these comments will join the, "safari seems snappier" and "update the MacPro," Hall of Overused Comments.

The Calendar App on the iPad is wayyyyyyy to hard to see!
small Light grey text on white background = FAIL!
