The Calendar App on the iPad is wayyyyyyy to hard to see!
small Light grey text on white background = FAIL!

Could not disagree more, at least on my mini (which has the, you know, horrible screen that burns people's retinas and causes major migraines<wry grin>), the Calendar App is great, I love the white space and white background, and personally, even with my old eyes, the thin font is easy to read and just goes with the whole clean look of the new version.

Massive wasted space: why is the folder grid 3x3 like the iPhone? Last time I checked the iPad screen was a little bigger  just take one look how pathetic the iOS music app is. Huge amounts of white space and what happens when you turn it over for landscape mode? MORE WHITE SPACE. They spent no time what so ever on many aspects on the iPad user experience

Can you share a screenshot of this? I'm curious what it looks like. I don't have an iPad and none of the store models have a folder (I learned today--trying to see this exact problem--that you can't change the icon/app placement on the store models).

I find some lag on the mini, especially switching from an app to safari to input text and vice versa. Also noticed folders in the dock appear solid grey with no transparency.

Quite smooth here in my ipad3. Full-screen notifications and reader mode (in landscape) looks sweet. I don't understand the criticism.

I'm in the same boat. Terribly disappointed with this. Now, my iPad feels cheap and clunky. I've had a few apps lock up on me, and scrolling through news stories, etc. is laggy, and sluggish. "Fluid" no longer describes ANYTHING I'm doing.

For the first time, I can say I'm genuinely unhappy with Apple. Too bad I can't rollback to iOS6 while they sort this out.

If its lagging bad on your ipad 4, anyone have any experiences for an ipad 2 (the original one). I might hold off upgrading if it slows mine down even further, it's already showing signs of slowing as it is. :(
Works fine on my iPad 2.

I agree with the poster DotCom2: my eyes aren't that bad, but even with reading glasses I had trouble with Calendar. Found a replacement.

The animations seem to noticeably stutter for me on my iPad 4 - scrolling through a conversation in the Messages app, scrolling through tracks in the Music app are both obvious examples. The animation going back to the home screen sometimes stutters a little too.

By all means it's usable and still a worthwhile upgrade over iOS 6, it just doesn't have the same level of polish that you expect from Apple. Hopefully we'll see iOS 7.1 with iPad improvements alongside the new hardware later this year, or perhaps fixes before that in 7.0.2.

How did you revert back? I asked that question in another thread and was told I can't downgrade from iOS 7 to iOS 6.1.3

Then someone posted a link to the 6.1.3 firmware and I download those. It mentioned restoring via iTunes in DFU mode. Is that how you downgraded?

There was an article on 9 to 5 Mac that showed how to do it. Downloaded the 6.1.3 image from the website linked in their article, then restored from it in iTunes by Option clicking the Restore in iTunes.

Unfortunately, Apple has indeed stopped signing the 6.1.3 image so if you haven't already gone back, it's too late.

Safari on the iPad under IOS 7 is pathetic!

I have a retina (A6 processor) iPad and have just upgraded to IOS 7. The response on Safari is pathetic to say the least! I've had to switch to Chrome for the iPad just to have a 'browser usable' device! If this is going to be Apple's way forward (and I'm a big fan!- owns iPhone4 & 5, Macbook Pro and iMac) then I see trouble ahead for them! Another very annoying omission is from Calendar where the ability to open a day from the month view by 'tapping' the date is 'just not there'!; surely this is the most intuitive response; tap the date from the month view to 'open' the day view!? Steve Jobs would never have allowed these flagrant 'mistakes' on his watch! On the iPhone (thus far!) is seems OK?

I installed iOS 7 on my iPad mini two ways: first through Settings and next via iTunes. I find that the latter allowed less kinks to go through.

Safari was stuttering a bit on my iPad mini when I first installed iOS 7, but I went into Settings and after clearing the Safari history, cookies and data it cleared that right up. It's been great ever since and I actually like iOS 7 on the iPad even more than I do on the iPhone.

Ditto. Very smooth on my ipad3. I don't care for the yellow in the notes app. Otherwise, all is well and I really enjoy ios7.

I'm pretty happy with it on my iPad mini. Can not speak for the iPad because I do not have one and I never owned a normal 9.7 inch iPad .

I wouldn't risk it. Upgrading to 5.x ruined my iPad 1. The additional features weren't worth the performance hit (e.g., Safari crashing).

Same experience. The ipad 1 is a near useless steaming pile of ding w/ ios 5 :( (I do not mean that sarcastically, it severely damaged the experience.)

Saw "android level lag" in the OP.

Lol. Another person who hasn't used android recently.

Butter smooth on my 32gb iPad 4 here.

Try disabling Safari under "iCloud" in settings. It was completely unusable on my iPad 3 until I did this.

Any other iPad 3 users with a good experience? How is the battery life I have read its worse?

Funny toy

When will Apple release an iOS that enables iPads to do proper work for professionals, i.e. manage files, have full access to e.g MS Word, MS Excel etc.?
I don't want ever to change to DELL and MS Windows 8. But for the time being, the iPad is not more than a funny toy or an expensive reader for me. I still have to carry my MBP around.

iOS7 working great for me on my ipad4, in fact I made a point of 3Dmark benchmarking it before and after and the performance shot up!

Before score iOS6 Ice storm test: 6344
After on iOS7 ice storm test: 10314

Only issues I've had is the screen not rotating when turned, have to keep restarting my iPad to fix it.
