Can't find tracking info on your black 16gig iphone 5? here's why

If you ordered from apple then this thread doesn't concern your order. They could have already had it in the US. It's about AT&T 16gb black. He also said there were some white ones. But more than likely if you have AT&T and ordered another size from att then it will more than likely ship from overseas.

Basically if you don't have a tracking number by Thursday you won't see a phone on Friday. Which we already knew but he did open up the process for AT&T orders a bit and thank you for that.

There were people last year who didn't receive their tracking number until after their 4S was delivered.

I know this thread is supposed to be for at&t.com orders, but my black 16 is sitting in Addison, IL and was ordered from apple.com.

it's normal dude. they usually hold the phone till the release date, in this case, friday.

i preordered my 4 and 4S on apple.com, they usually hold the phones in a facility for a couple of days if it arrived early. but if you're lucky you could get the phone a day before the supposed day like what happened with my iPhone 4.

I know it's normal, I'm just stating that it is possible apple orders and at&t orders are coming from the same staging facility.

I must have gotten lucky... My order was placed at 11:41 CST on the 14th and it appears that I am good to go on the 21st (no items in B/O column).

I am not part of that supply chain, however on our end, if the back order number is 0 your phone will arrive by Fri. however, this will all change on Thursday @ 1540 EST... If you do not have a back order of zero by that time, you will not have a phone on Friday.

GF - is it Thurs or Weds? Earlier you indicated if the switch doesn't occur by Weds we're out of luck but now its Thurs? Also, for those of us not having panic attacks about possibly missing the phone by a couple days, even if we don't make the Friday shipment presumably we will only be a couple biz days behind (i.e., by next Weds?) or is there a whole new shipment we have to wait for which will take "14-21 business days"? (Ordered from Premier at 8:47am on 14/Sep)

I am not part of that supply chain, however on our end, if the back order number is 0 your phone will arrive by Fri. however, this will all change on Thursday @ 1540 EST... If you do not have a back order of zero by that time, you will not have a phone on Friday.

If you say Thursday at 3.40pm why is everyone worried about their status not pushing tomorrow? Tomorrow is Wednesday in the reality I live in. Is it Thursday USA time or china time?

The original poster is wrong. My black 16gb just went from 1 back-ordered to 0 back-ordered. I ordered through premier at around 8:00 AM Pacific. I also just got an email (15 minutes ago) from Premier saying:

Dear DANIEL X,

I use got the same email. 16 blk. AT&T. ordered 715am central. Now I'm waiting on one for a white 16. Well, it's my wife's so I'm not too worried. It'll get here when it gets here. I'll have mine.

If you get yours on Friday and I don't, I'm gonna be pissed!!!!!! I ordered mine at 1.30 am PST, Sept 14. Up to about that point the apple site and AT&T were down and that's when I got through. But if they are first come first serve I better get one on the 21st too! The pre charge is on my card and I called the CSR center today and they confirmed that I needed to do nothing further as far as terms and conditions, and like everyone else reported they told me 14-28 business days till shipment. We shall see what happens!

I ordered my phone really late... 3pm cst but had no other choice other then to order it late... and I did it from a store, so i will be one of the last to see anything happening. That, and I ordered a 64. so either there is a lesser supply, or I will have less to worry about as far as demand.

I wonder if the phone hasn't shipped by launch day, if you can swap your order for one in store and have them cancel out the order.

I just checked the order page on ATT and i have a tracking number from UPS! I ordered around 6:30 AM last Friday and I have never been on backorder. I also received the second email last night confirming my order. At the UPS website, it says "order processed waiting for UPS" and delivery is "next day UPS air saver".

23,482 phones have been rejected due to credit card issues... There are going to be some pissed people, and 23,482 people who were told 2 weeks have been bumped up.

Also receiving 74,000 phones tomorrow which may be able to be batched and shipped by our cutoff for Friday delivery.

Those 74,000 phones will be fulfilling people with backorder:1/2/3/4

ahahahaaa so i was on ups and decided to try reference number of my cell phone with zip code of where I'm sending 2 of my 3 phones and boom it worked! now I can finally see tracking. I NEVER tried this from the beginning so maybe that's why I couldnt see info on my 16 gb iphones

so I guess you can use the main # of your acct and don't put the 1
