Some fun facts about Jeremy Sandmel at RE Showcase. He has quite a few patents. He was also one of the programmers for Descent 2. He and Aaftab Munshi were veterans in GPU and software engineering at ATI before they joined Apple around 2007 when iPhone was introduced. They also started working on GPU acceleration in MacOS back then so he knows his stuff now working on Metal 3.

Good for this dev. Let me know when nearly all AAA titles start getting ported over though and then maybe I’ll pay attention.

They have their own contents and market UNLIKE macOS. What I'm trying to say is that Mac is such a terrible platform to play and develop games.

I develop games on mac. I work with game devs that dev on pc. We have the same tools, the workflow is the same. I dont have a harder time than they do because im on mac. Ive worked on teams that were never aware i was on mac.

And fyi, the metal shader language is practically the same as hsl. In fact you can sometimes use hsl and xcode will compile to metal.

So? The market share proves that Mac is the most terrible platform.
You know this because you're an expert in the field?
The annual market share proves it by experts.

Good to have some actual firsthand knowledge here instead of another self-proclaimed expert who actually knows nothing for a change, thanks.

What a terrible way to determine that. Doesn't prove your attempt at a point at all.
And that's how Mac users dont wanna accept the fact that Mac is the most terrible platform. That's also why many games aren't even supported on Apple Silicon. Why do you keep ignoring facts?

That doesnt make mac a terrible platform. It makes it an unpopular one. But this unpopularity is driven more by badmouthing like you are doing right now than by the actual platform.

It IS a terrible platform. TBH, Intel Mac is way better than Apple Silicon Mac because you can boot Windows but not anymore. Apple only cares about mobile games, not Mac games.

No proofs? No thanks. Apple only cares about mobile games.
I don't think you know the difference between a fact and an opinion. And I see that temper tantrum with the dislike button is still continuing. Not sure what you'll do with yourself when you hit the daily limit on those.

Arm is the future. Vr/ar will rely on arm to be untethered. Mac, ios, nintendo, oculus are all on arm and thats bigger than all the other platforms.

The FACT is that Mac is never known for gaming industry especially after the transition to Apple Silicon. I have no idea why you wish to defy the fact.

And it wont be Mac to lead the gaming industry. How many times do I have to say that while we are talking about PC games? You already out of topic.
