what kind of material is the inner shell..is it like rubber? thanks

Its very tough to explain, its not silicon I can tell you that. The grip of the inner shell isn't like that great in my hands either. But its very rigid for a non plastic based shell material. I would have to say it reminds me of the old Kong dog toys, very very tough without the rubber stickiness to them.

Thanks for the pics guys
It might be that the plastic spine is squeezing in the sides at the bottom so it creates a sag? Wheras at the top the plastic covers the length of the side

does the black catch lint in your jeans?

i have the white one and its always in my pocket. it does not collect like the other soft cases but it does gather a tiny bit of lint. the amount is so small, its barely noticeable unless you plan to examine it under a microscope.

I was on the fence about buying, especially with the defects in some of the cases, but I finally bit the bullet and went on and ordered the Arctic case. I think that will be a good compromise of having a case but not totally blocking out the beauty of the iPhone... plus I can always take it off I suppose

my biggest issue now is whether to try to buy a universal dock so I can use the adapter to still be able to dock it... I hate to think that my standard dock will be useless to me now

Capsule Rebel - Black

Received mine today and immediately followed the instructions - put on the plastic screen protector, then the case itself. I can confirm the following issues:

1. The edges of the screen protector form bubbles around the screen
2. The bottom area of the case, close to the home button is loose and i can see the bezel

I have sent an email to switcheasy - lets see what they say...

others have had the same issue with the loose bottom..just contact them..and they should send you a replacement..hopefully everything will be resolved.

Apologies for reposting the same question but not sure anyone will see it a page ago...

Can someone who has one talk about how easy it is to get it in an out of the case? Would you be annoyed if you had to take the case on/off every day or two? I use a sports case when I work out, so need something that's fairly easy to get on/off.

Thanks!

Pics

Here are some pics i said i would post. Also, about the screen protector. If you can afford it, I would buy some bodyguardz (clearer than IS and no orange peel texture) and put it on before the case just for the extra ease of mind-double protection even against the case if you're paranoid it might scratch it (although it won't).

Cool - So can you verify that bodyguardz does not bubble up on the sides when you put the case on?

yup, %100 percent. The case slips OVER the bodyguardz. Now i would wait till the bodyguardz cures overnight before putting it on as to not take the chance of messing that up.

Like other folks mentioned on earlier posts, it's requires a little effort to get the exo-skeleton off and it seems like you will be scratching the iphone while doing so - but at the end of the day, the iphone is fine - the silicon (or whatever that material is) ends up getting a little scratched - but not the phone... i wouldn't get this case if you need to take it off and then back on every few days - the only reason i say that is that you will probably de-form the silicon base of this case very quickly... would love to hear what others have to say about it though!

Egggcellent... thanks for the quick reply! The bodyguardz is available on their website for $24.99 with lifetime replacements. Would you recommend, i get it directly from the manufacturer or from other resellers such as: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?In...03677&zmas=1&zmac=129&zmap=BGZ-APPLEIPHONE-3G

Thanks!!!

Ordering from them would probably be easier if you ever had to get any replacements as they could look up your purchase and they KNOW you got it from them...

Thanks again - appreciate your input.

I just saw the video on bodyguardz's website about how to apply the screen protection - Pretty slick. Looking at how this case really wraps the iphone, it really feels like it will cause bubbles or peel off the protector from the sides.

Perhaps its just my defective case thats making me think this way. But then, it also looks like the bodyguardz goes on pretty tight on the iphone making it difficult to peel.

<Sitting on a fence thinking!>

I just pulled my phone out of my pocket from work so there is a CRAP-TON of dust but i took a picture of the side to show you that it doesn't bubble. It just fits OVER the bodyguardz. Hope this helps...

I ordered my Arctic one earlier this afternoon and they shipped it out within an hour. I live fairly close so I'm expecting it by tomorrow at the latest. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

hey all, I got my arctic white case, and unfortunately it also has the loose bottom. Additionally, the left side, near the volume buttons, is also loose and seems to bow out just slightly. Hopefully I just got a bum case and can get a replacement, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Wow... this must be hitting SwitchEasy's profits pretty hard, this is a buttload of replacements, and that's just here... still waiting on mine, although I won't know if it came today or not til I get home after work.

Yeah, looks like the manufacturer of the product has blown it big time with the first batch of units. I'm still waiting for instructions for returning mine. It's a shame that these first batches are coming out bad. The Capsule which I still have on my 1st gen is still on and gave the best protection in my opinion. I was hoping they made the same model for the 3g also, but instead they re-designed, which looked amazing on paper. Something else in practice. Kinda like MobileMe.

Yea, but unlike mobileme I have a slight interest in this case :) Never saw mobileme as worth the money, I'd probably pay something like 100-150 for a flat fee (if it ever gets stable), but £59 per year is a rip-off.
