No you're absolutely right. All criminals deserve to be shot and killed. Especially thieves. Well, unless they are white kids who shoplift a little. Then they should be grounded. But otherwise, you're correct. Kill every purse/phone snatcher without question. Yeah. Those are fantastic morals. I don't even know what I was thinking. Sorry. Carry on with your life.

So carrying a gun and shooting a criminal is racist? Spoken like a true liberal...

Please keep talking. I'm finding this very entertaining...

Yes I'm a liberal. No wait, I'm a conservative.

Well I have to be one or the other, right?

Hahaha at your user name.

But should kids who shoplift be shot and killed?

Yeah..I guess Im your nightmare. Global warming non believer, conservative, big truck, no emissions, animal hunting, Obama hating Texan.

BTW...I got the name 8mpg because I had an old 69 Mustang 393 stroked mustang that averaged 8mpg.

Should we shoot everyone? No. But I swear to God...you make me question my safety of my life, you wont be around long. I guess you only read what you want. I have been robbed at gun point. Have you? Ever have someone threaten to take to your life over the $30 in your wallet? Ever felt your heart sink because you think you wont be around for your family because of some worthless ******* wants to take what you have worked for?

Shoplifting kids are not threatening people... robbing people, attacking people, and threatening people with a weapon is a different story. People make the decision to attack someone and try and take their property. I make the decision to get my property back.

Go back and read again. I didnt shoot anyone or draw my gun to kill someone over a weedeater and leaf blower stolen out of my garage. They were kids, unarmed, and stealing stuff when no one was around. You attack and try to take something from my hands or my body...you are asking for some hollow points.

So if you're walking down the street, and you're holding your brand new iPhone4 a little too lightly, and some person, kid, teenager - whatever- snatches it out of your hand and begins to run, and that mother****er is fast, you're not catching him, and you have a CLEAR shot it his/her back, do you take it?

And not to start a side argument, because I just want an answer to this question, do you think that driving a large truck with questionable emissions status is a little selfish? Just wondering if you did or not, honestly not calling you out, just trying to understand a mind-set.

Nope... I hate to say "I dont care about the environment" because I do things like recycle and what not...but I dont believe that carbon emissions from vehicles will destroy our planet. I have done research papers on global warming and the basis of it is just a sham headed by Al Gore. All the research of the 'hockey stick' method of analysis was proven wrong...the IPCC gets a condensed, 20 page version of a 1000+ page book based by leading world scientists. The list keeps going. So is it selfish...not when I dont believe it is hurting our environment.

Our government is so skewed on this. THe whole cap and trade that our government is worried about will kill our economy. To reduce the amount of carbon emissions they want to in the next 20 years, over 1/2 of the US manufacturing will have to move our of other countries like Mexico, China, India where they will do even worse for our planet where they have absolutely no regulations.

Oh...and would I shoot a kid in the back after snatching my phone and running off...probably not. I wouldnt chance shooting someone else that is an innocent bystander. By the time I react and the kid is running full speed, odds are I cannot draw, aim well and have a clear line of fire without worrying about others.

In crowded places like Times Square and on the subway, I just wrap the Vaja case's strap around my wrist. That way, if anyone goes for the snatch, they're SOL. Now if only Vaja made such a strap for their iPad cases. As-is, I just carry the pad close to my chest with 2 arms in a case.

One day these devices will be cheap, the majority will have them, and we'll be laughing about the day when we were guarding them like treasures. Remember the original prices of VCRs and flat screen TVs?

Is everyone really that afraid of getting their phone stolen? I have my iPhone out all the time riding the subway, walking down the streets, it sits on the table at restaurants (sometimes). I'm not really cncerned nor have I ever felt in danger because of it. Maybe it's because there are so many in NY...but I don't really change my habbits when I go to LA, SF, Miami, Seattle. Not in London or Paris either.

On the subway here in NY, I have it out in my hand so I can change music or reading. I'm not really worried about it. I mean I am basically clutching it all the time but it doesn't have one of those hand straps or anything.

I would. Taser gun.

Typical... Try the race card and when that doesn't work quickly change the topic. Liberals love to whip out the race card when they don't have much else. Then when you're called on it you throw a ridiculous question about shooting someone in the back never to mention race again. So your best arguments seem to consist of name calling and implying others are racist. Debate a topic with logic not the crap you're coming up with. I'll listen to people who have valid points/opinions but you close a lot of doors with your comments.

I remember the 1st launch because the phone and the price were headline news. Then they sent people home with iPhone bags! That's like the bank giving you a money bag marked with hundred dollar bills when you withdraw.

This launch may be worse because of the extreme backorder. Oh, and if you get a white one...t-a-r-g-e-t.

Suggestion for those concerned in public: Put your iPhone away, and use wireless headphones. I haven't found the need to do this with the 3GS yet. And in fact. I've noticed a couple of odd dudes staring down my wireless headphones, so I worry about those getting snatched sometimes, which would be very easy, but the iPhone? Not so much. It's just not a novelty anymore, and I secure it with a strap.

only the cops should have guns. what is the matter with you people? i will dial 911 and get my phone back that way. if someone pulls a gun on me i will submit to them. surely something terrible has happened to that poor person to make them resort to crime. it isn't their fault.

bunch of animals some of you are

I always carry a little packet of bums blood in case anyone tries to steal my phone. I just make sure to squirt the phone with it before I hand it over.

I like the remote iPhone explode idea that someone mentioned.

The part that sucks is that the phone is only the price you paid for it once. So, you may pay $199 for the phone, but you are locked into a contract. If I was robbed, I wouldn't make as big of a deal about it if I could just get the phone again for $199, but I'm stuck paying $599 instead.

The question was valid because the poster said that he would shoot a thief.
I'm not a liberal.
I'm not a conservative.
I don't vote.
I don't use brands like that because I don't educate myself with TV and I think that people should be given more credit than just grouping them into 1 of 2 groups.

OK Trent? Because *that* is what is typical.

Race and Guns Aside...

Do any of you think that the remote Find My iPhone mechanisms like remote lock, alarm, message and wipe would encourage anyone to return your phone, or would a hardened criminal just continue working on breaking it down?

I think the Find My iPhone would be most effective for honest finders only. Maybe that front-facing camera could send a pic of a thief to the police. That would be ideal :D

If you live in big city / high crime area, you wouldn't think "you better kill me I won't let my iPhone go." believe me they will. Don't get killed just to protect your god damn phone.

I'll protect my phone within reasons, but I always have insurance that covers theft, and I'll keep my life intact.

I live in nyc had my iphone attempted to be snatched except i caught the guy in the face with a beautiful hook. Then dragged him out the door at the next stop and he was arrested.. mind you i'm 6'2 and 220 pounds and this guy was like skinny teenager i would say.. had no chance

You showed remarkable restraint in that you simply didn't blow his brains out.

I would love to have witnessed that.

Why would some little skinny kid try to test you? It's like those NY toy dogs that bark at the big dogs that walk by, and the big dogs are like, "Yeah' whatever kid." LOL!
