Seems I was last on here to order! I placed an order for a 256GB Space Gray at around midday on Friday and was told I can pick up in store on the 3rd. Had an email off them yesterday saying there was a problem with my CC payment. Phoned them up and the CC company and got it all sorted. After seeing all post about delivery dates I called them today and was still told it’ll be available for pick up on Friday. Despite all this I’m expecting a “delay email” sometime on Wednesday or Thursday but fingers crossed I’ll get it on Friday..

Estimated delivery 3rd.

Last year Carphone were terrible for falsely promising delivery dates on the 7 and keeping customers in the dark (no emails or updates), but they did offer £20 store credit as an apology when asked. Unfortunately CW’s tariffs are far cheaper than upgrading through the carrier.
Can I ask how delayed were They by last time?
 
Hi guys I ordered the black 64gb at around 08:25 got an email at 08:30 and a second around 14:00.

It’s saying it will be delivered the 3rd. I’m hoping it is but reading some comments here doesn’t fill me with confidence at all.

Any idea when we would get an update
 
Okay so finally got the awnser of the 10th so I’m not happy anymore. Going to try my luck with JL Friday morning and if so gonna cancel my order with CPW

Did you get an email about your delivery date? carphone have taken my money over the weekend but ive not had any emails since Friday

Not an updated one but I just done a live chat cause I’m still awaiting a confirmation of change and he said it’s 10th even though they told me I wouldn’t lose my 3rd slot...
 
I feared this would happen..... don’t think they ever had the inventory to supply all the 3rd orders taken. At the least ‘sharpe practice’ and very disappointing!
 
Just got off a live chat with CPW, Ive gone for a silver 64GB (originally a space grey) but they kindly changed it for me.

This is what the advisor said -

"Thank you so much I can see that delivery is still out for the 3rd on your account, however we are still awaiting for confirmation from apple, if there are any other updates you will most certainly be notified.
Thus far I can see you should still be receiving it by the 3rd"
 
I just got off web chat with them and they said mine should still be here by the third, does it seem like they dont know anything either?
 
I have just called CPW again. The lady was very pleasant but admitted to being ‘tortured’ by customers enquiring regarding iPhone X orders! She did suggest store pick-up orders where most likely to be available for the 3rd as shop stock was ‘fluid’ for sim free and contract orders. Delivery orders had slipped to the 10th in most cases she claimed.

She did suggest store pick-up orders where most likely to be available for the 3rd as shop stock was ‘fluid’ for sim free and contract orders. Delivery orders had slipped to the 10th in most cases she claimed.
I spoke to them on my lunch, they still are saying the 3rd

So I can just walk in to my local CPW store on 3rd and walk out with a SIM-Free X?
 
Ordered 256GB Space Grey from Apple at 8:10am but got 2-3 weeks/13th-20th delivery.

Ordered same model from CPW at 8:23am, got acknowledgement stating 3rd Nov delivery, second 'order accepted' email through at 12:50 same day. Phoned them later that afternoon to question the 3rd Nov delivery that was still showing on the website, they said as far as they can see from their system delivery will be 3rd Nov. Not too convinced but fingers crossed.

Just called. After being kept on hold for 10 minutes, the operator came back on and said delivery now the 10th. Now been on hold another 10 minutes trying to cancel the order. They authorised full payment straight away when I placed the order, and payment left my account today. Funnily enough I can't see them refunding me in a hurry..

256GB Space Grey. Order placed at 8:23am. Went to 10th when I checked with them this afternoon, so have just cancelled.

To all the people cancelling why not just wait until Friday and then if it's a no show try your luck getting one elsewhere and then cancel the CPW order?

I have one open for expected delivery on the 4th for a mate of mine but unless he says so I won't be cancelling any orders as you cannot believe CPW customer services at all!

Have one on order with Apple for delivery on the 13th. Only placed the order with CPW based on delivery for the 3rd, so don't see the point in waiting until the 10th. Can't see them deliberately giving me misinformation if it's bad news, and would rather not let them keep hold of my money a moment longer than necessary.

It was a bit unclear from the language used but I gather the shop stock is made up of phones allocated ‘sim free’ and those for ‘contract’. I assume ‘fluid’ meant that they would sell contract phone stock as sim free in order to satisfy orders on the 3rd

That’s what I’m going to try. I’m going to see what happens this week but regardless will be ordering from JL on the 3rd anyway

I think that's a safe bet you can cancel the order without losing out.
