Not yet--will be testing this weekend.

On 2021-01-08, the steering wheel buttons still work for media control, but you can't see media info on dashboard and phone controls are not reliable. For the moment, I've set the car's driver display setting to "show no information in background".

Do you see the call info though? I don’t really care about the media info as I just have the maps in the middle of the dash.

Does anyone know how or even if possible to check current version running? I assume there is a way from the 192.168.50.2 address? If there is an update available, it just shows the new version and not current version running.

On 2021-01-08, I do see call info sometimes. Is it completely not working on 2021-01-28?

My experience from earlier FW versions is that if media is not updating then calls will not show as well.

Thank you, I appreciate you getting back to me. Key for me is the answer and end button working.

Will play with a few different images tomorrow to see if I can get it working

Same here. Will update the thread if I figure anything out.

2020-08-04 was the last version that worked relatively well for me, although it sometimes stopped working too. If the call info is not showing on the dash, then the steering wheel buttons will not work to answer or end the call.

Thought so. I tried some older builds earlier today (sept) but they wouldn’t connect to the phone. I just got this screen.

Oh screen needs a dust.

Ok, I think I figured out how... http://192.168.50.2/cgi-bin/server.cgi?cmd=getversion

However, mine responded back it's running version 2020.10.19.0001??!!! This version doesn't even exist to the best of my knowledge? Any thoughts?

Can I downgrade to august firmware to use it without Siri crash?
Thanks!
Yes, you can download the firmware from here.

Download this one - U2W_Update_2020.08.04.1602_ROLLBACK.img

Remove the _2020.08.04.1602_ROLLBACK from the file name so you are left with “U2W_Update.img” and place it on the root of a FAT32 USB Drive.

Put the Drive into the Adapter and power it up using a USB charger and not plugged into the car. It will flash red and green for a minute or so and turn solid red. Once it turns solid red, give it another minute and then plug the adapter back into your car without the USB drive attached.

You should now be on the August firmware.

Anyone tried waze on the latest Jan firmware? I'm using Dec firmware and waze app crashes my unit all the time. Google/apple map works fine.

Thanks! I'll try this evening

Just rolled back to 2020 08 04 and it still wont run the initial Bluetooth connection. To get basic functionality back I‘m now on 2021 01 08

So wish I hadn’t messed with it and tried the latest update as its killed my dash display and steering wheel controls

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

P.s. Carlinkit USB-C version

The rollback doesn’t work. Something has changed in the dongle I think in relation to BT firmware.

Any solution greatly appreciated

On mine when using Waze any voice notifications come through distorted. I’m on 2021-01-08 which is latest OTA for me on v1 CarLinkIt.

It also happened on other FW as well. I don’t use Waze much, or any voice really tbh but just wondering.

That is strange. I just did the rollback yesterday after finding out the 01.28.2021 firmware didn’t work right in my Explorer.

Maybe flash it a few times? I have the 2.0 Version of the Carlinkit with the detachable USB Cable. This might make a difference.

I'm not sure this is effective or not for your case. but when I tried several revision, BT connection show "..." instead of iPhone name, then I couldn't connect to adapter. so I made "Reset" on 192.168.50.2. then I could recover it.

I'm guessing some of BT setting are stored in adapter, and it might be conflict if we change firmware revision new to old.

Most settings are easy to understand

- GPS : Switch between GPS signal from the car / from the phone
- Frame Rate : Limit the frame rate of the Carplay encoded video (it is a MP4 played by your head unit)
- Media Delay : Delay to sync audio with video ( I usually set 700ms, under 500ms the sound will be hatched )
- Sound Quality : Probably 128Kbits (CD) or 192 Kbits (DVD) encoded audio
- Sync mode : Probably the way how touch is transmitted
- Automatic : I would guess it is about auto connecting your phone at startup
- Startup Delay : Easy to understand, I use 5s
- Background mode : I don't know

I don't see most of the settings mentioned here.

All what I have in my settings are
