I know in Audi if the phone is left in the phone box or connects to the USB cable, it would have a voice feedback to remind you that the phone is left in the vehicle. I know I can turn that off in the MMI. However, if the phone is not connected to Carlinkit wirelessly for Apple Carplay, and the Carlinkit device is still connected to the car, would it still have the same warning message? Thank you.
Yes it will still work

My adapter always freezes and reboots when I use "Hey Siri...".
Is this a known problem and is anyone else experiencing this?

I also don’t have that issue. Hey Siri works well. In fact it wasn’t until a couple of days ago I realised that the long press on the steering wheel worked to initiate Siri. Before that i had always used “Hey Siri”

Thanks! I got the news back from my CC company that they denied my claim. It showed email exchanges between me and the seller. At this point I’m fine with it as I felt I pushed enough with the dispute plus my constant emails to them to fix my problems and they did finally , albeit after 2 months of dealing with it, make the Jeep work nearly flawless. Since the 12.30 update I haven’t had to touch the dongle. It works like magic everytime.

I have a Toyota Avalon and it works well except...

1)when I first start the car, it sometimes shows the CarPlay screen for a few seconds and then reboots - when that happens, that 2nd boot always works)

2) I have seen my iPhone XS lose charge VERY quickly (that started with the Dec 30 release). But with the Jan 6 release I haven't seen that problem (yet).

Not all Mercedes Modells are working with the adapter. Newer cars with the new MBUX-system and usb-c port are not recognizing the adapter.

Just tried the lastest firmware today (2020.01.06.1408) and it still DOES NOT WORK on my Jeep compass. so on Jeeps, your mileage may vary.

I've used and tested on a friends Hyundai HB20 and it works flawlessly with good voice and controls.

Ok, so I have some information to add to this thread.....

One of the users on here had a dongle with the issue that many are describing. Plug it in, RED led is lit but no wifi or bluetooth.

So I bought it off him.........

I plugged it into my Volvo and it worked....straight away.....

It needed to be activated, so I had to find the wifi network on the screen and use passcode 12345678, and then the dongle activated. I then proceeded to update the firmware via 192.168.50.2.

So, I think the thing to take away from this is....for those of you with this issue, you really need to plug it into a supported vehicle to at least activate it (Volvo, Audi etc) as without activation, it appears that no bluetooth will be shown. Then update to the latest firmware. (As this is what may or may not contain fixes for your vehicle)

I now have 3 dongles, but only 2 cars :p At least it makes testing new firmware safer :)
[automerge]1578317162[/automerge]
Also...I just plugged it into my Windows PC and it no longer shows as an Iphone. Just as an unidentified device.

So maybe the older firmware shows as an iPhone in Windows, but now it just shows as unidentified device, but it DOES work 100% in the Volvo....

I have the "no blutooth/Wifi" with my Jeep (also keeps rebooting). But it works flawlessly when I connect to a friends car (Hyundai). So, there may be much more to it than the activation. I've been using his car to apply all the current updates, but when I go back to my Jeep, nothing happens there... and then back to the cable.

What uconnect system do you have?
I have 8.4” latest firmware from the dealership and I’m near flawless

Tried mine that’s never worked on a Vauxhall, just solid red LED, on a Merc and worked. Connected to the dongles Bluetooth, then connected and worked straight away.

Didn’t have to activate or anything, interface just opened after a few secs.

Tried back in mine, and nothing, solid red LED, no Bluetooth or anything. FW 01-03-2020

For those of you having problems, at least you have the adapter. I ordered the Carlinkit from Amazon more than a month ago and still haven't received it. I may have to dispute the charge very soon.

I ordered both of mine from Carplay2air.com with express shipping and they both arrived within 3 days. Just thought you may want to know in case you cancel the amazon order and still want one.

Express shipping to US via DHL takes five days and is well worth the additional $10. Standard shipping to US takes over a month and tracking information is useless. Ask me how I know.

Although the CarLinkIt and CarPlay2air look and seem to have the same interface are they the same?

It’s just the CarLinkIt doesn’t work on my Vauxhall, yet on the CarPlay2Air website it specifically says that it works with Vauxhall’s.

Do they have the same firmware? Anyone have CarPlay2Air and a Vauxhall?

Thanks

They are identical. It was confirmed by Carlinkit themselves on their website. Somebody found it and posted it somewhere in the 38 pages of this thread.

but they do cost more than eBay and Amazon. Aliexpress is much lower.
