I haven't noticed any degradation. Certainly better than BlueTooth.
The provider told me that wire and wireless are same quality but native bluetooth has more quality than wire or wireless carplay (also than android)

Which provider said that?I dont know, that is what provider says. Maybe is about using a USB port for transfer the data (wired is from lighting to USB and wireless is with the wireless dongle)
Thats great! I was thinking that you would lose some audio quality. Right now I have my native system but in the future when the lag problems in android system get solved maybe I will install an android display. Its possible to use the carplay2air in a Android system or only is valid for native multimedia system?
But if you use the carplay2air or similar (carlinkit) the connection is by USB dongle and this one connects by wifi with the phone, so the base connection is USB (this is what told me the provider)
WiFi should have better performance than Bluetooth as it has more bandwidth as far as I am aware.
And USB is faster then Bluetooth...
You are right. Wireless transmission is via WIFI, not Bluetooth. Bluetooth is only used for device discovery. At present, many front-loading vehicles use 802.11g. We have adjusted the wireless connection to 300Mbps in version 2.0 and use 5.8Ghz communication.Wired Carplay streams music in LPCM format (lossless), Wireless Carplay streams in AAC-LC (lossy). There is a little bit of compression but for most people (myself included) it’s very hard to notice the difference when driving the car with all of the other noises going on.
Still a lot better than Bluetooth A2DP which is limited to 0.3Mb/s. Nowhere close to the stream capacity of 802.11g (54 Mb/s) and 802.11n (600Mb/s) in newer cars.
I ’m NEO, from Carlinkit, I ’m willing to answer your questions about U2W,This is a product based on the wired Carplay protocol. The wired and wireless protocol interworking is realized through our equipment. We have been updating this project, and it is currently compatible with most original carplay models on the market.

For me the unit works really well I would however like to see the button used to answer and end calls on the steering wheel functioning correctly along with the info in the dash.
You're still using some old software. The connection screen still shows the version from 11.11.2019.
You are using the old 1.0 Version...
Meanwhile there is the big 2.0 update, unfortunately I can't say if the behaviour you show will change, because my Volvo hasn't been delivered yet![]()
I'd say, reproduce the issue and then open the web interface on your phone, press the small button and then the one in chinese. input your car model and describe the issue and press submit to send them the device logs.
dude, time to let this die.....we have all helped you to the MAX! I gave you the advice of opening a dispute on your CC to get your money back, and all you need to do is show the CC company your messages with them, and prove to them the product that was sold in fact does NOT work with the vehicle. They will come back with "small compatibility issue" like they did with me, but at least they fixed 99% of the jeep problem. SO, technically, Jeep is compatible. You WILL get your money back if you can prove they have false advertising on your vehicleHad another reply from CarPlay2Air who said they’ve confirmed works on Vauxhall, I’m still dubious as my CarLinkIt has never worked.
I’ve mentioned that they are same dongles, which they just dismiss, and say can’t comment.
I’ve asked for video proof, but say haven’t got it. Anyone with a CarPlay2Air try it in a Vauxhall with Intellilink system, and prove please, and take video if does/doesn’t so I can tell them please?
you need to upgrade, you ar eWAAYYYYYYYYYY behind in software updates@Neo
Welcome to the thread, great to see the manufacturer taking an active interest in the customer base.
For me the unit works really well I would however like to see the button used to answer and end calls on the steering wheel functioning correctly along with the info in the dash. That would be fantastic as it works for the wired carplay experience (see video). My car is a 2020 model Volvo XC60

Hello Neo! Great to have you onboard!
I find the device working almost perfectly in my 2020 Volvo XC60. The only problem is when streaming music from any of the streaming services the track information display in the center of the dashboard freezes after a few track changes. Track information in the CarPlay screen is always correct. Everything else is working great. I'm using the latest firmware downloaded via my phone at 192.168.50.2.
