Thanks for this. Do you mind sharing the video with me? Is there a specific way or code for the car model and country to be entered?
Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm stuck on the same screen you. Any help much appreciated.

You need to contact Carlinkit support (I did so via Amazon) to activate manually. They will have you send a log file to them and then they will give you a unique account and password to fill in.

Hi there,
I got my Carplay2Air these days 2. Same issues as discribed earlier this thread.
Flashed to 03-06-2020 - like suggested - audio shuttering is gone! Thanks for that :)

My Car:
Opel Insignia Sports Tourer Combilimousine 2.0 TDI. (late 2018)
Softwareversion of the headunit: 84388006

One last problem: after restarting the car the adapter won´t be recognized. Weird - unfortunately there´s no working FW which fixes the problem :/

Somone has a idea to fix this? Or should I stay with my USB-on/off Button-Switch. Not the best, but works.

Your Opel doesn’t have Intellilink system by any chance does it? Just I have a Vauxhall (UK brand Opel) and my CarLinkIt doesn’t work. Be interesting to see if yours is and why mine doesn’t if same.

Do you have a screenshot of your system or link?

Thanks

@MrMister111
In my car it seems to be a Navi 900 IntelliLink head unit.
Software version is in my post above.

I don´t have a picture our vid this moment - but this should be the right one:
Youtube Example Vid
Mine has no Onstar or Wifi, it supports android car und carplay.
But a software upgrade to a newer software version (maybe this could solve the issue with the faulty recognition :/) is not possible (I was told so, upgrade via USB port is not possible...)

What´s really weird - when you use wired carplay - then when you start the car it shortly disconnects the power surge icon on the right top corner on the iphone (like its charging for a short moment) and reconnect it in under a sec.
And the usb ports (both in the middle console) stops working after you lock the car (so no voltage on the ports).
I don´t know if this is a normal behaviour because my car is modified (it´s a car from my work - with private usage option).

@svenic
Yeah seems the page is offline Oo
I added the version 03-06-2020 - fortunately I didn´t format my usb stick yet^^

Here is the 2020-03-07 file, which is the last update that was posted on their firmware site. I know for some it caused audio glitches but I've been running it a few weeks with no major issues.

This is actually the 2020-03-04 file. If someone has the file from 2020-03-07 please attach it!

That’s what mine is, a Navi 900 Intellilink, looks exactly like that YT video, and your CarPlay dongle for wireless works?

Mine does have OnStar and does have WiFi though, strangely I switch off WiFi on the car, but iPhone can still “see” it in the list, so I’m not sure why it’s still finding when it’s supposed to be off.

Could you go into your car settings and take a pic of your versions, I’ll check mine.

I only have 1 USB port, that is used for the wired CarPlay though.

I’ve never had the dongle work. Most I’ve had it do was flash up CarPlay icon on screen and then disappears.

I’ve tried everything. Updated dongle firmware, reset iPhone, reset to factory settings on car, various settings in car etc and never once had the dongle work, since I got it in Sep ‘19.

It’s interesting though that yours works on Navi 900 Intellilink, gives me some hope!

*download site is down at moment as well*

My Carplay2Air works, yes - with the not starting automatic bug I described above, but yeah, with 03-06-2020 FW everything works well.

I will make a few photos 4you later this day ;)

@bookemdano
Hm, I´m interested of flashing this FW but really afraid of the shuttering sound may come back :/.
This is my greatest fear^^.

Or is it possible to downgrade? Have sth. in mind that this is not possible via USB to flash a lower FW. Is this correct?

I haven't ever tried downgrading. I think I saw someone mention earlier in the thread that downgrading via USB was possible, but please don't take my word for it. Maybe better to just stay with 20200306--especially if you had problems with the audio glitches before (in my car I never had that problem with any firmware).

@bookemdano
yeah that sounds reasonable, think i will stay.
I just ordered a carlinkit adapter in addition via amazon to try the next higher FW.
But it´s out of stock :/

or do someone know for sure downgrade would be possible?

Maybe someone has an older FW lying around?
To test it in the actual state.

Thanks for that, you’ve given me hope maybe mine can work! Can I ask what you did to make it work? Just put in dongle, and it connected? No problems whatsoever?

I only plugged it in and that was all I´ve done.
No, after 2020-03-06 update everything was fine. Only the startup problem after locking the car is present but i think it´s a problem with the usb voltage supply of the car :/

I attached you serveral photos of the headunit and the setup. Hope it helps ;)

@TOPIC
I got a error downloading the files too, it´s not working for me.
And downgrading FW - working or not? Maybe someone tried it^^?

If you keep using the existing URL and replace the date accordingly, you will be able to see if there is a new file or not. If the file is downloading (e.g. for 2020-03-06) you know that there is one. If you receive the 404 message you will know there is no new file.

Now that I think about it, the user here "2018 Denali" said he was able to downgrade via USB. He was running 20200307 and experienced audio glitches, so he said he reflashed 20200306 and it went away. You might want to contact him and double-check, but I'm almost positive that's what he said. You can find his posts about it in the previous pages of this thread (maybe 3 or so weeks ago?).

Edit: See this post

I will give it a shot, maybe everything is working well, or partially, or it dies^^

We will see :)

For my 2018 GMC Sierra 3-6-20 firmware was the best to this point.

I was able to downgrade and upgrade as long as the image file was in the main directory not in a sub folder from the files we had access to but no longer do.
