She will be missed, as will all the others that have passed this year. Sad news indeed.

My first love (well crush).
Sad news.
Even sadder for the family.
For some of you youngsters on here, 60 sounds pretty old. For some of us, it doesn't sound that far away.

I took my son and a friend to the premier showing of Revenge of the Sith showing in DC. We also attending the party. We were fortunate to get our seats early and Carrie and her mom Debbie, along with Carrie's assistant sat behind us. Both of them were so generous in talking with us. The assistant left briefly and came back with hot dogs and drinks for all of us.

At first I was disappointed that Harrison Ford was there, but after chatting with both Carrie and Debbie, I found out why she was so loved. My son will always remember getting a pic with Princess Leia.

Super jealous. I just got to see ROTJ with Darth Vader (David Prowse).
I think the only other film I saw her in was when Harry met Sally. For me she'll always be (a young) Princess Leia.

This is very true, but damn it. Scary I tell yeah.

Virtually all of the early celebrity deaths this year were directly related to lifestyle choices, including serious drug abuse or dangerous sexual practices.

If you are leading, or have led, that lifestyle, then you will not likely see 70 years either.

Is it sad that these talents are lost to us at an early age? Of course. It's hard to feel sorrow however, when one causes their own early demise due to lifestyle choices.

You are not qualified to say that Carrie's earlier lifestyle problems were the cause of her heart attack.
Don't paint with such a wide brush.

I hear one can whither away into a shallow husk of a human from self-righteousness. Although it would be hard to feel sorrow for someone suffering from such a pathetic demise.

You can name call, attack me, and deny all you want. She nearly died several times in the last 15 years directly related to her drug abuse. Of course, as die hard fans you already knew that.

Yeah but the fact you keep posting about it leads most here to think that there is something wrong with you. Like you would ever say that to a person whose dad just died. "Well he did drink a lot...".

Genuinely gutted over this. I love the Star Wars films but more than that I'm really proud of her mental health work, and that she was a cocky woman. I've been rewatching old interviews of her and she is just always sharp and witty.

Her and Bowie really shocked me this year. Both were hugely influential in my teens.

My absolutely favourite comment from her in recent years was the cocaine Trump one. She owns her past, and I love that.

(I found an old Star Wars VHS that I watched earlier. Got the bluray, but there's something about VHS that suits some films.)

Best not judge, that's a flaw (you know it's not directed at you fanboy :)). We only walk in our own shoes, and should only be worried about judging ourselves in this matter.

We live our lives on custom length treadmills, with a duty to make the best of the unknown time we have, before who knows, what's next.
