Dear Carrot

I've got a major problem which has been happening all through the festive period.

Almost every day it's been raining stopping me and my family going out and when we do we find ourselves getting really wet.

This only started after upgrading to you premium service. If I cancel my premium service will my weather improve because it's starting to really effect my hair.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

CARROT said something about sacrificing a goat...?

I'll try again tomorrow to see if the location info changes on its own but today it didn't without a manual refresh. You state that as long as location data is set to always and I move a certain distance from my current location, within 30-60 minutes the location on the complication should change on its own right?

It should at least change after ~1hr. That's what I was seeing yesterday without having to manually refresh, I was just periodically getting "unknown" and "current location" instead of the location name.

Ok well when I goto work today I'll see if it changes.

Also determined that after 24 hours of keeping location services set to "always", there is no effect on my battery. My 24 hour use for carrot is only 2%, 1% higher than when it was set to "while using". So that's a plus for anyone hesitant about that issue as well.

Dear Carrot,

This probably isn't the place to be doing this but I think the quality of your weather app is fantastic, especially how accurate it can be when predicting when the rain/wind is about to start, to which I have a proposition for you.........

App Idea:

"Carrot Wife"

Similar to Carrot Weather, but this will predict mood swings with your wife/partner.

Brief:

Travelling home from work you can check your Apple Watch to see what mood your wife is in.

This will determine if you're safe to go home or even recommend putting your foot down to get home early (if you know what I mean )

Complication could include :

- Rush home, she's lit the candles
- Take your time, she wants to buy something
- Go around the block, she's got shampoo in her eye again
- Avoid at all costs, she's found your credit card statement
- Get home ASAP, all your clothes are out on the lawn.

(More available on request)

Please note that my app idea is very early in its conception but get this right and I feel you could put any price to it thus allowing you to easily retire as the queue to download this app would be phenomenal.

Let me know what you think?.

Kind Regards

And how would CARROT go about predicting this behavior? :p

I'm running the newest Beta (2.2.1.7) and in the small complication that I am using for Barometric Pressure I noticed a blue up arrow. I thought the arrows were all red?!? I checked the site for a Legend and no luck.

Ps. using a modular watchface.

I switched the icons for pressure from all red to

Up = blue
Down = red
No change = white

to make it a little easier to tell with a quick glance if it's going up or down. Pressure charts usually show blue as up and red as down.

Is there a list of colours somewhere and what conditions they represent?

So far I'm guessing yellow is sunny or partly cloudy, purple is nighty and blue for rainy. Any others?

Yellow - sunny or partly sunny
Purple - moony or partly moony
Gray - cloudy/foggy/windy
Blue - rain/snow/sleet

I'm glad to report on the newest beta that the location updates are definitely noticeable and very much appreciated. Finally have a stable location reporting weather app that self updates on its own and it accurate.

One quick question though. I notice the app usually says "xx% chance of rain/sleet/snow" when it's expected. At what point does the complication change to a precip countdown? It seems it like I barely see it on the complication but do when I click the app.

Glad to hear it's working better now!

There has to be actual precipitation forecast in the next hour *when the data is downloaded* for the countdown to show up. It can sometimes be a little hard to catch it, given the update interval of the complication and the fact that the precip forecast only extends out an hour. (You can tell when there's actual precipitation forecasted when the precip chart shows up in the main Watch app or if the "Short-Term" chart has anything in it on the iOS app.)

The premium upgrade adds extra features for the Apple Watch complication, including more frequent data updates, rain prediction, and the ability to customize the complications with additional data (precip chance, wind, humidity, etc).

thanks!:)

Can you confirm the following:

(I've upgraded to premium)

When does the watch complications automatically update (without the need to open the app on the watch)? I'm sure I read it was every 30mins.

What mileage do you have to travel for the app to realise you're in a new location and to update the complication?.

I only ask as mine seems to only update if I activate the app on my watch.

i believe that functionality will be fixed soon, once the beta is not beta.
