Last night this was what I noticed:
1. App on iPhone showed 57 degress with WUnderground data
2. App on iPhone showed 56 degress with Dark Sky data
3. App on the watch showed 48 degrees
4. Complication on watch showed 42 degrees

I get the difference between the temps with WU and Dark Sky, but three different temperatures between the iPhone, watch, and watch complication? Not to mention the location update is broken (obviously on the server side because it worked for a couple of weeks). I sure would appreciate it if the developer would throw a post on here just to give us (or me) a heads up on when things should be corrected.

Same issue here!
Not getting an update every 30 minutes or even hour!

Not only that, I've had the watch display cities I'm no where near or been at...and last night my complication just displayed "current" for my location instead of the city name.

Weird, thought it was just me, sad :(. What are you all using until fixed?

I thought I heard the Dev had a kid - hope all is going well.

Just a thought - do you have the Carrot app in the dock?

I have recents for my dock. So I guess I don't. But regardless of recents - started acting up a week ago or so (same as when people started posting here).

I noticed I have to open the app on my phone for the watch to be good. Doesn't bother me that much as I don't check the weather terribly often.

Just a little annoying cuz I'm getting the rain notices on 100% sunny days. :p That's got Dark Sky written all over it even though I pay for WU.

Still a happy CARROT customer. I got a lot of fun out of carrot and still do - Dev was super responsive (may still be - having a baby is a good excuse!). Hope it starts working again or he comes back. :) App on iPhone seems to be fine (minus rain warnings on clear days). The watch just goes nuts.

I've rebooted, unpaired, repaired, rebooted, force close, etc.
When the latest release came out, it worked absolutely perfectly...until a week or so ago...then went to near garbage.
That, to me (I am a developer) means something is wacky server side...

It is with great sadness that I have to abandon Carrot.

Not through any fault of the application or the developer, but because Dark Sky is absolute crap. Even with my temp set to use WU, because I still get alerts from the Dark Sky "portion" of the app, I cannot use Carrot. Today, on a perfectly sunny, almost cloudless day in Yuma, AZ, I was receiving precipitation alerts. Same thing happened last week here. And last night. Every other weather source (WU, TWC, AccuWeather) showed 0% precipitation/nothing on the radar. Dark Sky showed precipitation on radar and in the hourly forecast.

Not really sure what I will use. Perhaps go back to eWeather or AccuWeather...stock weather app is out of the question because the widget never updates. Oy!

How is Dark Sky crap? It's not meant to be an overview of the general area, it's meant to be hyper local. However, maybe it's GPS doesn't realize where you are? The only reason I stopped using it because it wants full-time GPS access.

I was using BeWeather2 while Apple's weather widget (and complication) were broke. Now I'm back to stock now that BW2 seemingly stopped updating.

I'm just curious if the location on the watch bug was fixed...

edit: So far so good!

It was for the Apple widget/complication at least. This had been an ongoing issue in the 11.x beta threads prior to the official release of 11.3. 11.4 b1 and b2 seem to be working fine as well.

Agreed. Gone back to the stock weather app (shocking!)

Why shocking? I suspect it uses less juice than third parties. Which brings me to my question.

Is there an option to just straight up buy all of Carrot? I don't want to do a subscription.

Update: I forgot how much all the other weather apps suck in comparison to Carrot. I’ll just go without precip alerts and continue using Carrot!

Yeah, this is the biggest surprise I have. How bad the other Weather Apps (however popular) are. Just WOW. Full screen ads, begging for payment EVERY TIME I open the app, etc... How do 400k people use this? I can't stand them at all.

I switched the Watch to Apple's weather app but I'm still using Carrot on the phone. Seems like all the weather apps are really taking a tumble. Must just not be $ in it anymore or costs rose up somewhere.

I have the same issue with DarkSky as BigMcGuire.

Full sun, 100 degrees out, and Dark Sky says it’s raining

Odd. I've never had that. I've gotten rain alerts and it turned out that an area I was near got precipitation. That's what led me to believe the app wasn't polling GPS or something of that nature.

Come to think of it... I haven't gotten an alert in a while now.

So sorta back towards topic; is Carrot worth picking up? I like the snark and all, but what I need is a weather app with a widget and complication that actually updates properly.

For what it’s worth, my app complications and notifications seem fine. Only really just checked now and I have just updated iOS to 11.3.1

Bummer. I mean, $20 a year isn't bad, but it's something that I would easily lose track of and suddenly have a surprise charge.
For premium (what I use) it’s £3.49/year. Although I’ve not switched from 49p/month yet.

I'm noticing a battery savings with the stock weather app on my AW3. I'm definitely holding a charge longer. I still get CARROT weather alerts via the watch even with the app not installed on the watch - which is what I only care about. So this seems to work for me. CARROT seems to be working fine on the phone - minus the rain warnings (but has only happened twice recently).

Edit: lol - now the stock weather app is reporting different weather than the stock weather app on the iPhone. Ugh. I think I'm going to give up on weather on the watch.

Edit: Went back to CARROT on watch. 8 degree difference between what watch says on complication and what the CARROT app says on phone AND watch say. ???
