These great sleeves are available for the 11.6" Macbook Air:

Thinking I'm just going to wait and get a nice Crumpler sleeve or backpack maybe. I need a new backpack.

I got a nice laptop sleeve from Waterfield for the 11.6 MBA. I have some of their products, including the same sleeve for my 17" MBA, and I've been most satisfied with their service and quality.

I was at Fry's yesterday, and saw the Tucano Work_Out for 11.6" Netbooks. Luckily it was also conveniently in the Apple section, so I tried it out on the 11" MacBook Air, and it fit PERFECTLY. They do have it in a medium blue and red if you want something other than black. It is very well padded and has several pockets. I think it'll do nicely. Hope this helps.

Cool, I want a basic neoprene sleeve tho :-( no pockets, not the thick padding, just a super-thin neoprene (think wet-suit) slide-in no zipper sleeve.

I was actually going to pick this up too but the measurements of the 11.6" width seemed a little wider than the internal bag measurements. Do you have an ipad as well? Can you tell me if you can fit both devices in the bag and have some room left over for accessories?

Hmm, i like their sleeves but I want something more slip-on\slip off kinda thing. All of the second-skins are so thick with padding. I just want something to prevent scratches, I'm not so worried about drops\bangs,....

I want my Macbook Air the same way I like my women: slim and wrapped in tight-fitting leather!

I want a leather sleeve case with very little padding, just a tight fight. I don't want to add much to the weight or bulk.

Tucano's site doesn't list a WORK OUT for 11" netbooks...

Are you sure that's what you were dealing with? Thanks.

Bella92108: I'm surprised she didn't say "You want fries with that?" Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Since 11.6" is already an established screen size, there seem to be lots of sleeves and cases out there. With an 11.6" noteboook... it's easy to avoid the comically-big shoulder bag, or the comically-big backpack.

Those plastic shells that attach to the laptop -- clear or colored -- kinda define "tacky." My laptop wouldn't be caught dead in one.

I agree. But the tucano case you ordered looks right out of the 80's... of a freebie I get at trade shows.

Can't wait for Incase to release their black neoprene sleeve for the 11.6". Not that I have an 11.6" yet, but I really want one. I can use my imagination for the moment. :)

Hi,

I swear by Waterfield Bags. Over the years I always used the sleeves from this company, and they are great! They don't wear and tear with very intensive use, they look slick, are light and don't scratch your laptop.

The new Macbook Air version is on it's way.

Highly recommended!

I like the overall design of the case, but the deal-killer is that fabric strap-flap that comes down. If it didn't have it, it'd close like an envelope, but the pseudo-buckle is annoying, and my reason for not getting this one. lol

No no, you can configure the sleeve as u want. With strap/without strap. Horizontal/Vertical. With flap/without flap.

Bas

That suede sleeve looks pretty nice. I'm tempted to wait and see what Incase will offer though. I have a green bag with a flap that I bought from Incase ages ago and it's the best I've owned. I just wish my MBA wouldn't swim in it when it arrives!

Oh, I didn't see that. Very cool! I just may have to order one. I ordered this on ebay, which is perfect width, and about 1/2 inch too short, but neoprene has about 25% elasticity, so it should fit like a glove, and it's super thin. Ordered from them before, they're amazing, and for five bux they ship out same-day. Can't beat the price. And you get a red and black reversible.
