Mine that was ordered 10-22 at 1205AM is en flight from Anchorage to Oakland (being delivered to SF). It's about 45 minutes into flight so it's likely just having a cocktail and pretzels about now. I'd IMAGINE that if it's getting into Oakland at 930pm tonight that it'll have no issues getting the 10 miles to SF and out for delivery tomorrow by 10AM

Hi,

I swear by Waterfield Bags. Over the years I always used the sleeves from this company, and they are great! They don't wear and tear with very intensive use, they look slick, are light and don't scratch your laptop.

The new Macbook Air version is on it's way.

Highly recommended!

With kind regards,
Bas

Have you or anybody else tried the suede sleeves, or the SleeveCase? I'd like to know how the suede sleeves hold up.

I just ordered a sleevecase for my 11.6 MBA. I've owned the Waterfield sleevecases in the past-- just make sure you like the styling, because they *never* wear out ;).

Great stuff, great company.

Warning... earlier I noted some Neoprene Sleeves for "10 inch netbooks" that I bought on ebay. It says it'll fit up to 11" devices however they arrived today and neither of them fit my MB Air. :-(

Boo. Now back to looking for a neoprene sleeve (preferably without a zipper, just like an open ended or side sleeve, hell doesn't even have to be neoprene.

Thanks for the heads up, I almost order one of those from eBay

I know, I was so hoping it'd fit. The inCase 13" Neoprene zipper cases are a little lose on a 13" so I was hoping that the neoprene on the 10" ones I ordered would stretch to fit like a glove on the 11" but to no avail :-(

Ideally would like to find something ASAP, but all apple has to sell are cases for the big boy laptops. hah

I need Incase to make a 11" sleeve like right now haha

Heartbreaking :(

I know I'm afraid to take it outside the house for fear of getting it wet...

BREAKING NEWS!!! Okay that was dramatic...

http://www.crumpler.com/us/Laptop-Bags/Laptop-Carrying-Cases/Fug-10.html?LanguageCode=EN&SKU=FU0201A

Crumpler claims their 10" is perfect for the Macbook Air 11" because there's no flap at the end so it just fits like a glove... an overpriced glove... I'm in San Francisco about 5 blocks from the crumpler store... I'd go try it out but with the World Series right around the corner getting to the store would be a cluster#$ck right now....

Anyone have first hand experience with this one?

This is what I use...

http://www.tucanousa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BFITXS

This bag is very slim and holds both my iPad and 11.6" MBA. It also holds the adapter and a few more accessories in the front zipped pouch.

We're all aware that basically any messenger bag will work, but the point of this thread is cases FOR the 11.6

That crumpler is about $20 overpriced.

It's in line with every other crumpler product... 2x the competition... much like Lacoste, you're paying for the logo... but right now besides that I'm not seeing a lot of options. Given that I'm afraid to take my laptop out of my house I should probably get one.

Update: I went to the Crumpler store tonight before the airport, and bought the 10" Fug. It's a Neoprene Sleeve without the flap. It's the PERFECT fit snug around the 11" laptop. It's a little short, but a little stretching and it's amazing. $40 is steep, but Crumpler makes decent quality. Comes in red or black. I bought red. Took it to the airport for my flight tonight and it was awesome traveling with!

I highly recommend...

Still wanting a hard case such as Speck or Incase!

I stopped by Frys to check out simple sleeves and found 3 that fit. I chose this one: Sumo Sleeve

It stretches to fit the length of the 11.6 MBA and is slightly wider than the narrow width, but it does stretch easily to accommodate the MBA and the flap closes over just fine. I use it inside-out since I don't like the pattern on the flap.

This Case Logic bag also was a reasonable option. It doesn't hold the MBA as tightly (slight room in the length about an inch or more in the width), but has a pouch if you want to carry the power cord and has handles.

If you want something with a handle but no pouch this Ohmetric sleeve was a secure fit but had funny padding on the flap. If I had bought this one, I would have cut those off. I suppose they are meant to be folded into a wrist rest, but I wouldn't want that.

I was also at Fry's the other day and checked out the same exact cases, lol.
I ended up going with the CaseLogic one... not the best looking case in the world, but MBA 11" fits decent and it will get me by until Incase comes out with a sleeve.

I use one of these:

I am not going to argue with you because it is your personal preference, but buying a MBA and then putting a case on it defeats the purpose of owning a MacBook Air.

Wait, a case prevents you from opening the machine and using it to code/browse/e-mail/edit photos/watch videos ?

Or are you one of those guys who thinks he's buying street creds ?

If you paid that much for an Air, wouldn't you be a little more careful with it? Even with a case, I would never put even my MBP in a normal school backpack. I would buy a black InCase sleeve and carry it around, in my hands, in that.

Having paid so much for an Air, there's no way in hell I'm carrying it in my hands. A bag strapped to my back is a much safer place. First, it'll be much better padded than a cheap thin case. Second, I drop stuff that's in my hands, I've never had a backpack come undone and fall to the ground. Third, I forget stuff sometimes, if it's strapped to my back, it's going along for the ride.

Maybe you're being a bit too careful. The thing is made out of metal.
