Warning... earlier I noted some Neoprene Sleeves for "10 inch netbooks" that I bought on ebay. It says it'll fit up to 11" devices however they arrived today and neither of them fit my MB Air. :-(

Boo. Now back to looking for a neoprene sleeve (preferably without a zipper, just like an open ended or side sleeve, hell doesn't even have to be neoprene.

The reason these sleeves don't fit is because the MacBook Air is a 16:9 screen, it is not a square display or even a 16:10 display, and it has a fullsize keyboard, so it is wider than pretty much every other 11" model out there. Also it is not 11", it is actually 11.6"

Think different. Stop being rude. The 6-color Apple logo is classic and I am upset that Apple abandoned it in the first place. It was a trademark, colorful and gave character to the Apple brand. It is not ugly.

I don't know why but the Macvelope ones look cheap.
I've used one made by an Australian company called Shuky, I hope they will make them for the 11"

Expensive but the quality is great.
Here's a pic I stole from some ones review

They made a MacBook Air parody video with their case, I have the patent leather in red and the case is very very snug on my MBP, even after trying to stretch it with books when I first got it, but I think it's because the lining is different.

Waiting for the Vaja case!

Hi Ya - Bought the 11.6 128 GB Macbook air and love it. I'm going to wait until Vaja do a case. I'm looking for a similar case to ivolution silver it a great looking case.

does the waterfield suede jacket actually close completely over the top/side (depending on orientation, of course). it looks like it just slides in there and leaves at least one side exposed while inside your bag/backpack?

what options are available? anyone get anything yet?

I bought my macbook air 11inch yesterday and wanted to buy some sort of case/cover before I unboxed it. There was very little available in most shops I went to (including the Apple store), so ended up getting one of these:

(hope I have entered that URL correctly, new here!).
The label said it was for a netbook, but the air fits in snuggly and it will do until more options become available.

was hoping these guys would have this in 11 inch...

best sleeve I've found so far.

I like that case but I am wishing incase make some travel kit plus for macbook air 11.6 as they did for ipad:

I used that case and I love it. I hope they make a new one for the macbook air. I love this case because apart from the macbook air you can carry many accesories as external hard disk, earphones, charger..

This Case Logic bag also was a reasonable option. It doesn't hold the MBA as tightly (slight room in the length about an inch or more in the width), but has a pouch if you want to carry the power cord and has handles.

I bought this other Case Logic in September for my entourage edge e-reader, but it fits my 11.6" air perfectly because there's a band to hold the device tight to the padded side. This is the same line of case we use for our portable external back up drives. It adds bulk, but I feel like it's enough protection.

Unfortunately at the time I ordered, they only had hot pink or baby blue, but it looks like more colours are in stock now.

I was actually going to pick this up too but the measurements of the 11.6" width seemed a little wider than the internal bag measurements. Do you have an ipad as well? Can you tell me if you can fit both devices in the bag and have some room left over for accessories?

Yes, you can squeeze an iPad in it, but it's pretty hefty. Not to mention that both power adapters in it make it a tight fit.

I agree completely. This iconic logo was powerful, and immediately recognized. Along those same lines, abandoning the PowerBook name was another great loss.

Yet that said, if there is one indisputable fact about Steve Jobs, it's his supreme marketing expertise. That alone has made past & present Apple blunders nearly unnoticeable.

Any company that can influence a massive group of customers, turning them into zealot like supporters that believe the company & it's leader can do no wrong, proves that hero worship still exists.

bags for the 11

I found a couple of existing bags that seem like they will work for the 11.6 MBA. The first is made by timbuk2 freestyle laptop bag. While it is designed for netbooks, according to their website the 11 should fit fine in the dedicated padded laptop section.

Also, according to Darcy over at Tom Bihn, the 11 + cache + co-pilot should work well togeather.

I have the freestyle Timbuk2 bag. Best Ipad bag I've found (never looked at the water field muzzetto which looks very nice as well)

This is a great bag that works for the 11" air but is not a perfect fit. The dedicated space, for a ipad/net book, lined in the red soft material, does not fit the 11" air. It is about 1/2 inch to short. Bummer.

In that net book space I am keeping my power cord, usb drive, headphones, etc.

In the center of the bag I am keeping 11" air in a cheap neoprene net book sleeve until I find something better. The nice thing is the air feels protected but the foot print of the bag is still small - which is what I wanted

A couple small tweeks from Timbuk2 and I am sure this will be the go to MBA 11' bag.

well, i suppose that this is good and bad news. the bad news is it doesn't fit well... the good news is i was about to order it. this will save me the hassle of returning it.

In the UK?

Anyone in the UK managed to find a half decent sleeve that fits the 11 incher?

Not really taking it out with me at the minute as no protection.
