I will say, to add in on the subject, I just got my first iPhone. It's a beautiful device, and I really love holding it all the time. Especially when it feels cold in the hand. Putting a case on it, it still looks good, just not in the same way. While I worry for possible damage, I'm bummed that I have to resort to using a case. :(

A thread with 15 pages where I see people arguing about using a phone case or not. Actually it's all so simple. If you want to use a case, use it. If you want to go naked than do that. Don't judge other peoples choices/preferences. Not only with phone cases but with everything in life. Just live and let live. Adios!

We can judge, we must and we will.

I always use a case, it not only protects it from wear and tear, but more so now, it adds a bit of depth and heft. I personally think the iPhone is getting to thin and I prefer something with a bit more depth to make it more holdable, if that makes sense.

I agree, the 5s felt fine without a case, oddly the 5c felt more robust when I held one. Back when I use Nokia dumb phones I never used cases, those things mostly bounced. The 6/6s is like a bar of soap without a case, id prefer thicker phones and better ergonomics rather than form over function. Phones don't need to be so thin.

First off it doesn't stick out that much. Also the lens cover is sapphire crystal so very very hard to scratch.
And as for the metal ring around it well its just that a metal ring pretty robust.

Cases may kill your experience, but concrete will kill your phone !!! I'll let you caseless guys think about that one for a while...

Especially when it comes to selling your phone so you can upgrade to the next one and you get sad because you can't sell it due to its condition; there's too many scratches and dents and broken parts on it because you chose to carry it without a case and now it's broken LOL.

I don't sell my phones. I trade them into my carrier. All they are about is that it turns on and the screen isn't cracked. They can care less about Knicks and scratches.

First of all, you can pretty much always find a buyer for a working iPhone, and the difference in what you can get for a mint condition phone and one with a few scratches or bumps is usually about equivalent to what people spend on a case, so you don't come out ahead by a significant amount.

Second, not everyone bothers to re-sell their phones. I usually just give mine away.

Third, nothing your said was clever or funny, so what's up with the LOL?

I was caseless with my iPhone 4S and my 6 originally. But then I dinged it and that was that! I bought a case the next day. Luckily the iPhone 6 developed a separate issue so Apple replaced it.

All it takes is one accident to change your mind!

If I didn't have a case on my X, I'd probably be on my third or fourth device by now. Unless you have Tim Cook money, going without a case just seems like a poor choice to me.

This has been said about as long as I've been on this forum and probably before.

I've had a 6s+ since September 2015. No case. It's 2.5 years later and no damage.

I can recall when everyone was saying the 6s+ was too slippery.

Not using a case has not been a poor choice for me.

I used to go naked but since I dropped and cracked my screen I know use an ultra thin case which seems to give me the best of both worlds. Still slim but some protection.

Damn... Zombie thread.

I've always been extremely careful with my phones yet I still choose to use a case because as has been mentioned, to me the phone feels better with a bit of thickness and heft provided by Apple's leather case. I also hate fingerprints.
