At the moment, I'm going skinless on both the 6S and 6S Plus.

Of the choices that are available, I agree the Apple leather case is least intrusive.

But...it still alters the way the beautiful devices look...and it changes how the buttons feel and work.

I like the very definitive feeling without a case.

I hope I don't end up regretting it, but that's what I've been doing for a while now. :)

I use an antiglare film on mine to cut down on the greasy fingerprints. The oleophobic coating wears off eventually and the screen becomes an oily mess.

I agree there i does become an oily mess, but there's no way i'd add even 0.001mm around the touch ID button, and screen "protectors" add much more than that.

Still with it George, i've had every single iPhone since the day the first one came out, naked. The way they should be.

Those engineers spend hundreds of hours to craft and shape the phone for the users enjoyment.
That's your warm and fuzzy spin.

Reality is Apple's brilliance... is convincing you of that, and they've succeeded too!

They've designed the size shape and features for one very specific reason, to sell the highest number of iPhones at the highest price. They have convinced the buyers that only Apple knows what's best for them, therefore it's immaterial what buyers want. Just buy a new iPhone and don't question it... :D

If you find the iPhone to have a shape that isn't to your liking, there are plenty of other differently shaped smartphones out there that you are free to try out and stay with.

If its your belief that Apple doesn't spend a lot of time and effort in crafting their devices then so be it. You're the one who's in control, not Apple.

Ive doesn't want you to use a case cause most of them block the Apple logo.

Because Apple offers silicone and leather case options for the iPhone 6/6s series, I highly doubt that case usage harms the intended experience much.

I actually think the 6-series looks better with the Apple cases (with the exception of the battery case) because the cases make the back more uniform, and also eliminate the camera bump.

I use the Otterbox Defender probably up there with the bulkiest case out there for two reasons.

1. I'm rough on my stuff. I travel a lot and running through airports and in rental cars without a way to secure it. In my personal car I have a mount that sticks to the windshield. While using the GPS driving a rental car on unfamiliar roads. I've had it slide all the way across the dash and end up between the passenger seat and the door. I was running to make a plane and had my phone in my hand with two suit cases. I ran up the stairs rather than wait for an elevator. I turned the corner and hit the banister dropping the phone. It bounced all the way down to the floor below. I picked the phone up and it worked.

2. I like the clip and carry the phone on my belt. I have a pair of Bose ear buds and listen to books when I travel.

The phone is too fragile and expensive to not have a case.

My Lifeproof Fre may be bulkier. I use the belt clip on it and usually carry it clipped into the pocket of a pair of shorts. I don't have to worry about it.

A quote from the piece on Apple from 60 minutes:

Ive explained that zeroing in on a product's "emotional context" is a big part of Apple's development process—investing lots of time experimenting with materials, surfaces, textures, colors, shapes, to arrive at the right tactile experience. He showed the 10 prototypes for the iPhone 6 and 6s that had been made with their in-house machining tools, before landing on the two sizes that "felt right."

Seems a shame that we put cases on our iPhones when all this time is spent to make them feel right huh?

We kill them with plastic and blocky rubber cases.

I don't put a case on the phone unless it accentuates it. It could make a phone look more businessy or more cute. It could make a phone feel more comfortable.

Otherwise, I don't purchase a case. The reason why, it's just another thing to spend money on.

Associates want to tell you that you have to have a case, but that's just not true.

Will you have a tougher time should it drop if you're not wearing a case? Well, yes.

But just don't drop it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh I also forgot to mention that I use the apple leather case because it's just more comfortable. Sure it feels premium without, but it just feels more comfortable to me. Also, why would apple make a case if they didn't want you to put one on?

I can understand why someone wouldn't want a case, but I can't understand why someone wouldn't want a tempered glass screen protector. 9 times out of 10, the screen cracks on a hard fall. I install a tempered glass the second I remove the plastic on any new device. They have saved me several times.

Every manufacturer wants you to advertise for the company. Y not blocking their logos. At least APple doesn't allow the carriers to also put their logos on the devices. Unlike Android which can look like a walking advertising billboard on the phones depending on the carrier. Cough.cough Verizon

Personally, I find that they detract from the experience of handling the phone.

My first iPhone was a 4s. I got a case and screen protector for it, but quickly removed them. The case just made the phone feel intolerably thicker and heavier, while the screen protector affected the smoothness when scrolling and interacting with the display.

Likewise, I used the 5s naked. I don't go out of my way to baby the phones, but save for numerous scratches on the back and sides, they are in good condition.

Currently using a case with my 6S+, but I have decided to give the Dbrand skin a try. I will take my chances with the protruding camera, because I find when I use my phone at home without the case, the experience is still at its best without any sort of case or protector.

Everybody I know that has started our carrying a naked iPhone and raving about how cool it is...has had it slip from their grip & hit the ground either badly enough to break a screen, or at least badly enough to ding the phone up so that the "coolness" isn't so much any more. It just looks like they're rocking a beat up phone. Not very cool.

I use the Apple leather case because it's the closest thing to naked I can get and still offer a modicum of protection in case I do drop the device...and I have. It also adds some "grippy-ness" to help me hang onto things more easily, and looks good too IMO.

I friend a work with broke her iPhone 6 by dropping it about two feet to the hard tiled floor. The entire display is shattered. She hasn't replaced it yet and I'm not sure how she'll feel about cases in the future.

I use a matte glass protector and a Thule case. It not only protects the device, but feels great to hold in hand.

My 6+ in September.

Sprint had given me a screen protector so I put it on. That's about the only concession I make. Hate cases still, don't use them still, even after this.

My 6s+ has no case. It could happen again, I hope it doesn't, but I have only had one screen crack in three years of naked iPhone ownership.

If I thought that was true then I wouldn't be using them. I love what they do for my screen.

It is true. And the only thing they "do" for your screen is make your finger further away from the touch sensors - all that hardwork Apple do to try and make it feel like you can touch the pixels!

Again, if I thought it was true I wouldn't be using them and I don't have that problem with the touch sensor. It works 100% of the time, every time.
