CashForiPhones legit?

Definitely use eBay.

I sold my 2G 8GB only about 10 days ago for $280.

It was only jailbroken and software unlocked.

I never have any luck with ebay.

I only sell a Apple Mighty Mouse one time.

When Playstation 3 fist come out.

I grab one and try to sell it. Almost got cheated by some people in the middle east, try to get me to send my Playstation 3 before the payment.

I end up keep it for myself and I am not even a gamer.
Now, I use it to watch blue ray movie only.
What a waste....

cashforiphones.com is a scam

So here I sit two weeks after sending in my phone. They initially quoted me $160 for my phone. Once I sent the phone in they sent me an email 3 days after they received the phone and offered me 1/2 as much due to light scratches on the screen and case. I'm sorry, but if I were buying a phone that was used I would expect their to be light scratches... and believe me, these scratches were light as I always kept the phone protected.

Anyhow, once I received their adjusted offer I advised them to send the phone back to me. Two days later I called and they confirmed that my phone would be shipped back within 48 hours. Before I cold ask for the man's name he hung up on me.

3 days later I receive another email offering me $120 for my phone. Um...you said it was going to be shipped back to me no later than yesterday. Needless to say I sent them a nasty email explaining my disappointment with their service.

Today I recieved an apologetic email explaining that per the terms and conditions they have the right to adjust the price as long as I agree. No way I'm agreeing, send the phone back to me. Lesson learned - cashforiphones.com is a scam, rip-off and an unethical company. Beware!!

Next stop - Attorney General of Nevada.

Just think about it. They have to make money also with your phone. More than $50-100 so as soon as they receive it they'll say in the condition it's in we are offering you $200
and what they will do is put I up on eBay or cg and double their money.
If you request it back and don't agree to the offer they might counter offer but doubt they will send it back. They will tell u it's already in the remanufacturing process or has been sold or lost and other bs

I've used BuyMyTronics.com before and it's legit. I sold an old HTC Mogul and they gave me what the initial quote was on their website.

I'd suggest finding someone local or let your friends, coworkers and family know you're selling your iPhone.
See if you can jailbreak and unlock it so it's possible to be used with people that have Tmobile as a service provider.
iPhones sell like hotcakes you will sell your easy and for a decent amount. Don't risk losing it or sending it to some shady company for dirt cheap.

Yeah cashforgold.com lowballs you on gold. They send you money but at a fraction of the worth. This cashforiphone.com probably does the same exact thing.

Of course they do. Have you ever heard of a successful business that buys/sells things at cost, without building profit-making into their cost structure?

If they bought whatever from you for what it was really worth, in order to profit from it, they would have to sell it to the next guy for much more than retail/what it's worth. These kinds of services are for people who just want to be rid of something and make a little off of it at the same time for little-to-no hassle. You get to clean house and get some cash, they take on the risk of the actual sale and make a profit.

For some people who just need cash now or don't want to hassle with putting their stuff up for sale, they would see this as a win-win. For others who want to get the most bang for their buck, they would be better off selling to the next potential owner privately/directly (craigslist, eBay, whatever).

I tried the quote link on the home page of Cashforiphones just for fun and they quoted me $435 for the 3GS 32GB with nothing wrong with it.

Gazelle.com buys electronics as well. A friend at work has used them alot

I've used BuyMyTronics.com before and it's legit. I sold an old HTC Mogul and they gave me what the initial quote was on their website.

Gazelle offered me $362 for a 16GB 3GS in perfect condition.
BuyMyTronics offered $375 for the same.

I'm eligible for an upgrade, it's almost tempting to get a 16GB 3GS for $200 from AT&T and sell it to BMT for $375.

Or sell it on ebay for $500. Or unlocked for $600-700!

FYI, friend sent their iPhone to them and got half of what was quoted.

He went through a bit of a fight with them and eventually got some of it, but not all.

I saw the emails he fought with them....got a bit nasty

They're legit. I sold my 3G to them last year even though the quote was on the low side. Forgot the details but I got the full quote after a few weeks. My phone had no defects at all. It was always in a case.

I've heard that they will inspect the phone closely and deduct for every tiny defect they find. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone though.

They are offering $485 for my 3GS right now! My phone is in perfect condition. I may go for it....

I've heard some bad things about them. I've read that a lot of the time they will say that it's not in the condition that you said it was when you got the quote. I'd avoid them if I were you. However, I have used BuyMyTronics.com before and have been very pleased. I've used it twice and have always received the price I was quoted for. It may not be nearly as high as cash4iphones but at least it's legit.

They quoted me $120 for a brand new in box iPhone 3gs 16gb. I think I'll go the eBay route. No way will I part with that phone for 120!!!

Edit:

$120 for new in box
$450 for mint condition...

Hmmm...

So we sell the phone to them, but yet we have to ship our phone out first before receiving payment? No thanks. And like someone already mentioned, they'll probably deduct $10 for every hair line scratch and $1 for every piece of dust they find.
