I have to once again reiterate something I've said many times before and never fails to be true:

Rich people are downright WEIRD.
I guess there are a lot more poor people that would want these. They just can't buy them.

Russian company Caviar, known for making luxury variants of popular tech gadgets, today announced that it will be releasing custom AirPods Max plated with "pure gold" for the high price of $108,000 at some point in 2021.

Can we please stop reporting on this fraud/scammer company's "products"?

Please?

These are made upon order. What we see is just a render. There are billionaires who spent 100 grands on a weekend trip. When you have everything, it is nice to have something that your other billionaire friends, dont.
It says "Gold plated", MR words, don't know if that's the case but if it is those who purchase these are stupid, it should be solid gold.
*Gold plated adds maybe 100 grams of gold, does not compute pricewise. (±€5000)
But then again, you need to hold your head to support the weight of this thing.

Do you actually know any billionaires? Yeah, neither do I.

I do know a few “rich” people though, and they wouldn’t be caught dead owning something as tacky as this.

Stuff like this will be bought by rich Saudi teenagers and used a couple times in front of their friends, then tossed in a drawer or closet.

The black and gold looks nice but 100k lmao gtfo.

Spray paint is a dollar.
And in a year or two when Apple releases a highly popular, stainless steel gold version — like they did with the Apple Watch — the few idiots who bought these will be lost in a sea of stainless steel gold headphones, and either suck it up, or inform those around them that their headphones are “real gold,” and look like huge losers.

Can’t. Wait.

They “could” get in trouble as an unauthorized Apple reseller BUT they probably sell so few of these that isn’t an issue.
No one will get “in trouble.” Apple isn’t the police. This is no different than Colorware selling custom colored airpods.

I could buy a couple pairs of these, laser engrave “Lock her up!” on one side and a crude photo of Trump on the other and sell them online and Apple couldn’t do ****. Good thing I’d never do that, because I’m not a horrible person.

Also, good luck trying to stop a company in Russia or China from reselling things.

This is something nouveau rich and entitled people would buy. Maybe Trump will get one since he loves gold stuff.

The custom AirPods Max will be available in white and black, with each color offered "in a single piece worldwide," suggesting that the headphones may be quite exclusive. In the words of Caviar, the pure gold design apparently "looks elegant, emphasizing the status of the owners and their impeccable taste," for people who "want to always be on top."

Caviar recently introduced a custom iPhone 12 Pro that supposedly includes a small piece of an original Apple I computer's circuit board, but this claim has been disputed.

These don't come with a "bra" carrying case. They come with an actual naked woman to carry them for you.

Would you buy gold plated jewelry?

The Caviar is only “plated in gold”.
Gold plating is a few microns in thickness. This is not even close to an actual gold value. At $60K per Kilo you could get over 3 pounds of gold for that price.

I’m curious to how they were able to produce these so quickly. I mean, unless they were going off the past renderings of what we saw over the last few months, they obviously need to have time to engineer/blueprint in manufacturing these, so how else would they have the proper specifications when the Max just launched like a little over two weeks ago.

So I’m guessing they either have inside information, or they were using the specifications based off the renderings, being that you can’t just manufacture something like this in a short amount of time, especially given the craftsmanship that these are generally probably made in very small production numbers.

Produce what? All they are doing is buying sets of Apple headphones taking them apart, powder blasting or chemically treating the metal parts and then dropping them into a gold electroplating bath a few times. It also looks they they replaced or/and covered up some of the other pieces with other materials. However all that takes is some that can sew.
