The shipping address for my phone somehow showed an address I lived at 4 years ago. I had updated my shipping address on my Apple account prior to pre-order day, and my Verizon shipping address and billing address are the same. So every record to change available to me showed my CORRECT shipping address (which is same as my billing) but somehow the Apple order showed a very old address 2 states away.

So lo and behold I was shocked to see on Monday of this week that my shipping address was my old home address. Nobody knew where it was coming from at Apple but "No problem" they promised me.....they'd fill out the right form and put the change address to my billing address request into the system. "Everything should be fine, you'll get an email telling you so."

24 hours pass...its now Tuesday of this week. No email, nothing changed, still shipping to my old home address. I call again.

"Not sure what happened because I see the other help desk person placed the request to change address...perhaps with the huge demand for the best iPhone evah things are just taking a little longer. But rest assured, you'll get your phone on Friday."

I get an email from Apple later that day saying they were processing my request and to expect another email "soon."

This morning at 430A my phone buzzes and its Apple telling my phone has SHIPPED TO THE WRONG DAMN ADDRESS.

I call Apple a THIRD time, this guy looks at everything and says "Well I'm not sure how this happened but I will process a NEW request for you to change the shipping address." Per him, this will take "days" now to re-route my shipment to me. But the way it works, I believe, is some UPS worker somewhere along the way will scan the box and see a delivery exception and then re-route the box manually.

Moral of story....don't trust Apple to "do the right thing." Three calls and I'm betting the phone I've paid in full for goes to someone else who promptly sells it on eBay.

I am hoping that if it doesn't update as soon as it is scanned in that it won't at all. I can drive a few hours to go get my phone if it delivers to the AT&T billing address, but I would kill myself if I had to wait until Monday.

I've had this problem that the last few posters are having. I called apple saturday to change my address, then called again sunday to confirm. On Apple's website it had my new address, but when Apple sent me my official shipping notification my old address was still there. UPS tracking also shows that it's going to my old address. I called apple again this morning and the guy said this time they'll make a request (which they said the last 2 times so i don't know why it took them this long).

I checked UPS tracking again about an hour after that and I saw that UPS has received an address change once my phone reached Louisville. I suspect that when they are scanned there, the updated requests are visible. I'm not holding my breath about receiving my phone tomorrow however.

I just got a scan alert on the package. No change to delivery address. I called UPS again, got same answer, only sender can adjust delivery address since the name/address on the package don't match my MyUPSChoice account.

Called Apple again, who confirmed that they have put in TWO shipping re-route requests to my new address, but basically just shrugged and said "You'll have to wait for it to be delivered with a proof of signature, dispute it and then we can send you out another unit....in 7-10 days or more."

This is such a clusterfark......

I ordered an AT&T iPhone 6 (NEXT plan) Friday morning, but waited until Monday to call Apple about changing the shipping address. I called again on Tuesday after not receiving an email 24hrs later. The guy I talked to on Tuesday was more helpful and seemed to submit the request properly. I called Apple again on Wednesday to followup on that request. The woman basically said it was too late in the process to change the address because the label was already printed. However, today I received an email from Apple saying "we're working on your request" and just now my tracking updated to what you see in the image. Fingers crossed it arrives at the change address tomorrow.

I never received an email from them, but I called 3 times. All 3 times they said I would get an email. Your UPS tracking looked like mine for the last 4 hours, but now mine has departed Louisville but it is still shipping to the wrong address. ****ing dumb.

It just landed in the state of my original address... so it is not looking good for me.

Edit: called UPS and they said it has to get to the local facility of the original address before it can be potentially rerouted. That seems silly.

The package is not accessible during transit,. we would have to rerout all packages loaded with it as well thats what they just told me. even though i got a post 9 am this am that it will be rerouted it won't be rerouted until it reaches the original location and therefor will be delayed till monday

UPS just notified me that they've received an alternate delivery address request.

This only took 4 days, 6 calls from me to Apple and 3 submissions of the request.

I'll get phone next week some time.

yeah but i don't think its appropriate care and I'm complaining to apple and really this is UPS. they use an outdated system where packages have to be manually rerouted they aren't periodically scanned as one would think they would be like amazon does

was told repeated times from Apple that address was changed

only to find out iphone shipped to wrong state anyway. I also ordered a case, which was dropped on the porch of a temporary address and not my preferred home address. so frustrating.
i called Apple on Friday and waited on hold 3 hours. On Monday I called again and they said my change did not get put through but that they would do it that day. Tuesday got an email confirmation of address change.. but UPS tracking still showng shipping to wrong state. No one cares at UPS. Got hung up on twice. I wasn't even rude or anything. I politely explained that the shipper has been notified repeatedly of the address change. My iphone tracking shows that there will be an address change intercept yet it still wound up at the wrong state, at least 1500 miles away too.
Very disappointed and frustrating.

Yeah mine did that also....same text, yellow box and everything. That happened about 3 this afternoon also in Louisville, KY.

Then, it arrived in IN and is now back to same green, same WRONG address, and on its merry way to the WRONG address. Again.

I give up. I'll just wait and file a claim tomorrow when someone else signs for the thing.

Yep, this exact same thing has happened to me. I want it to be shipped to me in california, but even after the deliver change request its going to my house in michigan. Apple really ****ed up on this one.

4 more scans, no address change even though still noted on UPS one was requested. Now says "Out for Delivery" on tracking. Someone living in my former home is getting a new iPhone 6.

That totally bites. I have a feeling mine will soon be showing it's out for delivery in the wrong city as well. Mine had been in Louisville yesterday when the address change intercept was noted. I had my hopes up that it would be reroute to the correct destination city at that point. So I confirmed by last minute special arrangement to take a day of vacation today; a day's pay that I've really not even accrued that time. I was excited until I got home and it was then that it showed it left Louisville and had arrived in the wrong destination and state. I also have had 4 scans since it left Louisville.
What an absolute crock. The person I spoke with at Apple yesterday morning was quite adamant in telling me over and over again that I had nothing to worry about and that I would still get my phone on Friday no matter what.

Basically I think they (Apple) were well aware all along of the UPS policy that states that they must attempt delivery to the initial address first before any address changes will be made. I would not have been happy to hear that last week but it still would have been better than being lied to all along. To make matters even worse, my case was indeed delivered yesterday to that wrong address and it was noted it got left on the porch. Now whomever intercepted it will have my name and when they see that it is a case for the new iPhone 6 they can then anticipate receiving a new iphone 6 and possibly even signing my name when it gets delivered today; what a deal they got while I, a long-time loyal customer, gets screwed. And despite repeated attempts to fix the problem and false promises all along.

It looks like my iPhone was rerouted at the last moment. It also shows my new address on the side.

Truth be told, I think this issue has a lot of different fingers to point:

1) Where the heck did Apple get an old shipping address from? Its nowhere in my Apple profile at this time, I moved from that address years ago. Their reps claim that the shipping address was supplied by the phone carrier, but I went out to Verizon and checked my info and again...no record of my OLD shipping address to be found on their site under my profile either. In fact, about 1 year ago I ordered a Note 3 from Verizon and it was shipped to my current shipping/billing address. So somewhere along the data pipe there's some old garbage data stuck in the machine.

2) There is no reason why I should have had to call Apple so many times this week to ask for the same thing repeatedly. The mid-week support peeps started blaming the early-week support peeps of not completing the right paperwork, or blaming the "back office" people, etc. Only the guy yesterday who put me on hold for like 30 minutes came back and said "I have taken screenshots with definitive proof that I just changed your address for the FIRST TIME today and added it to your call record/support ticket. That way if there is a misdelivery you'll have proof we tried to fix this prior and we can get you a replacement faster than having to wait for UPS to conduct their investigation." But it literally took 6 tries for me to get that kind of response from Apple. Only got ONE "We are working on this" email as well this week even though all 6 promised me I'd get one of those shortly after the call.

3) UPS waiting until the item gets allllll the way to its destination before re-routing it makes no sense to me. It obviously was getting scanned along the way. Admittedly, perhaps the actual box wasn't being scanned but rather a bunch of box tags from a shrink-wrapped pallet was being scanned and mine was just buried in there and unaccessible. Who knows but seems stupid to me.

4) Apple for promising me that no matter what the intercept would happen and I'd still get my package today. Only the guy yesterday was honest and said "No way will you get it on Friday, early/middle of next week is more likely, but it likely won't even start moving again until sometime on Monday/Tuesday." Everyone else....just flat out lied to me.

Yes I'll call Apple and complain after all of this, but I don't expect much other than one of their cases, which I don't want anyways.

Oh well...I'll get the phone eventually hopefully.

So I ordered a 6+ through AT&T, and for fear of losing my place on the 12th during pre-order, I didn't change my shipping address. After making 5+ calls attempting to change it after I placed the order, it was finally updated (supposedly) on the 17th.

Well now, even though it's the same order number, but "order date" is showing 9/17 rather than 9/12, and an estimated shipping date of 11/9-11/27 instead of the early part of October. I'm about to call and try to get to the bottom of this, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem?? No way that I'm waiting until late November for this phone.

My iPhone delivered to the original address today. I have to drive a few hours after work today to go get it, but I'd rather have it that way. I was worried an intercept would be requested and delivery would be delayed until Monday or Tuesday. It's still too bad that it wasn't changed fast enough to make it onto the UPS label. That would have been a lot better and I would be holding my phone now. I'm just happy I am getting my phone today though.

It sounds like they cancelled your order and placed a new one. Eek! I would call someone asap and see what happened.

serious F apple and UPS or even ATT for that matter. this is BS:mad::mad:
now i have to wait till monday

Preordered Called 4 Times for Address Change and still without a phone.

Called 4 different time 1st to change address 3 times to confirm the change.
I was put on hold each time for over an hour until speaking to a rep.
each time the rep assured me the request has been input and that it would be changed. I called several time because I no longer live there. not only did it ship to the wrong address but a random person signed to receive the package.
unbelievable.called apple and complained they said the shipment would now be under investigation and that would another 72 hours to investigate. 72 business hours. I stayed up til 2am for the preorder, called 4 different times to change the address and because of their inadequacies i'm paying the price for their inaptitude. the whole purpose of calling and preordering is to get the phone on the day of. not only am i not getting a phone on the release but i may not even get the phone. I requested that they make a phone available and that they do their investigation and do what they need to find out but I still think i shouldn't pay for what they were unable to execute.

Will this damn saga never end?

Got this email yesterday from the Apple Store.....

We're having trouble with your address.

Our carrier is having trouble delivering your shipment—it appears your address is either incomplete or incorrect. To update your delivery address, please reply to this email with the following information:

Recipient first and last name
Company name (if applicable)
Street number and name
City, state and ZIP
Telephone number

Please provide a physical address—we’re unable to deliver to postal centers.

If we don’t hear from you, our carrier will return your shipment to Apple.

This after FOUR calls to Apple in the last week to REPEATEDLY get them to make my shipping address my billing address and FOUR promises that they did just that.

So I send in the requested information and call them to get to a supervisor.

1.4 hours later of jamming to hold music....

"Gee whiz sir, not sure how this has happened but I super secret squirrel promise that we have this right this time. Apparently 4 other of my associates here can't spell worth a lick and have totally mis-typed your address four different times. But on the bright side, at least your phone is now sitting in the right state!"

I've been offered a free case for my trouble (I took it but don't want it). I've been offered a $25 iTunes gift card (Took that will give it to my kids). The guy last night offered me free Apple care (which I had already bought with this phone and which arrived LAST WEEK to my PROPER address I might add). They won't budge on giving me a credit on my order, but have offered me freebies for my troubles.

I just want my damn phone sent to my billing address. Why is this so freaking hard?!?!?!?!?! My shipping address is my billing address. The same damn address you ask me to verify EVERY STINKING TIME I call in to get you to fix this mess so I know you've got it right there in front of you. I don't even have that difficult of an address to spell....it's not 123 Anywhere Street but its pretty freaking close to that simple.

I've bought a lot of gear from Apple over the years. Never had this kind of an issue before. Totally inept service process.
