So here is my experience in case it helps:

After placing the order with my AT&T billing address, I called in try to change the shipping to my desired address. I used the method from above about calling macbook sales and asking to be transferred, and spoke to someone within 15 minutes. I was told it was no problem to change the address. He changed it and said it would take 24-48 hours to update online and to recieve an email confirmation. The time was 11:30am eastern.

As of 8pm this evening, nothing had changed on my end, and I had received no email. So I decided to call again, and using the above method again I spoke to someone in about 20 minutes to verify the change.

They told me that the request to change the address had been submitted to the "back of the house" but they have been having issues with AT&T orders. Specifically with changing the address. Therefore they didn't know if the change would be made before it was shipped. They then told me that if it does ship before the change, apple will submit a request to the shipper to change the address, and I should still get the phone on time.

I asked about changing the shipping on my end using ups mychoice or fedex delivery manager but he said that this can cause problems because Apple has an agreement with the sippers that they are only to make changes that come straight from Apple.

So here I am, hoping Apple wasn't feeding me b.s. and that my orders arrive on time at the address I need them to be at. Sorry for the long post but I figured I would share it with yall since this forum has been so helpful for me.

So I just fonay got an email from apple saying "we are working on your request" for my order that is still "processing". Nothing yet for my other order that is preparing for shipment.

Also, my orders are still showing the incorrect shipping address online.

Baby steps.

Since I have a tracking number for the order "preparing for shipment" I called UPS and they told me since they don't actually have the item yet there's still time, and I should contact apple again to make sure it is changed. They had no record of a change of address submitted.

Doesn't really help me but in case anyone was considering calling UPS.
 
Called Apple on Friday and was on hold for about 2.5 hours. They changed my shipping address no problem.
 
Just about 72 hours since I first called to change the address, and nothing's changed. I now have 2 notifications from UPS about my orders going to the wrong address.

Looks like I'm going to have to call again, let's hope something works eventually.
 
Called on Saturday to get my address changed using the calling tech support route. They submitted a change request to the back office... It's Tuesday and no email and no change yet. Both of my phones are Preparing for Shipment so idk what to do now.. I can't find them on UPS or FedEx either by the reference so if I call them idk what to tell them lol

The one reason I could call UPS is because I have UPS mychoice which alerts me anytime something is addressed to me, so I have the tracking number before apple gave it to me.

Anyway the tracking says Nashville to Florida (I'm in Florida), no tracking beyond that through China and Alaska like usual. I'm trying to do anything to change the delivery address before it gets to that point since it says next day air, so I assume that is Thursday.

i suggest you call them again to confirm. i did what you have done, and no email a day later. I call again, was told that the person didn't include the new address in the request. the new person help me enter the address, and 1-2 hrs after i got an email from apple saying they are updating it.

mine still haven't shown the new address yet.

And I cant pick my iPhone tracking up (never could) so lets hope that it still gets delivered on the 19th.

So that is showing on UPS or Apple?
 
I can't speak for anyone else but when I ordered in the AT&T store yesterday part of my shipping address did not stick. We thought we caught this 3x but nope.

I called AT&T last night and tried the store to no avail. Went back this morning and they had to cancel my order from yesterday and submit a new one. It meant me waiting a few more days for the phone, but lesson learned. <shrugs>

Next time I upgrade I'll just wait for ample stock and buy it then.
 
Called again last night since nothing looks like it changed. They told me that it had been changed on the 14th and everything was good. They blamed the lack of email confirmation and the order status page still showing the wrong address on the huge overflow of people trying to do exactly what I am trying to do.

They assured me that everything was good to go. They are taking the phones to a central location and overnighting them from there. Once they are scanned in to be overnighted, the address will update.

Let's hope it's true.
 
I changed the shipping address for 1 of my 3 iPhone 6 orders by calling Apple. The website shows the new address.

However, when I searched UPS by reference number, all 3 orders show that they're going to my billing address. 1 of the 3 actually has been scanned. The other two say that label is ready so maybe the shipping address will change later on one of those?

By the way, I never got an email confirmation, but the website does show the new shipping address
 
So after all that time I spent to change my address with apple...ups still has the wrong one. Apple says it's right in their system and ups says to call Apple because they cannot change it. Smh

Both of my shipments are showing the wrong address. However, on the tracking one of them says there was an intercept requested and the item will be shipped to an alternate address. No idea if the other one will say the same thing or not. Let's hope this is what's happening for all of us.
 
what am i suppose to do. my address has not changed. apple submitted the request sunday. i have called them two - three times since then and they just keep saying don't worry its all good and will be rerouted.

well its shipped per UPS and its showing the wrong address and its going to cost me $40 to have to resend it to receive it monday/tuesday or $80 to receive it saturday once it arrives at the original address

and ups just says we don't see anything and we can't do anything yada yada
 
I just got my official shipment notification from Apple for my iPhone. The package still hasn't been scanned in by UPS. I'm hoping that somehow when it is, the address will update and it will go to the right place. eek!
 
So I received email updates from apple saying that they were processing my requests to change the shipping addresses for my two orders and they couldn't change them by the time they shipped. So they were shipping to my PO Box and not to me.

I used UPS chat this morning and had them change both orders to pick up at my UPS store and it didn't affect my shipping date! So that's nice with UPS!

Picking them up on my lunch break!
 
The shipping address for my phone somehow showed an address I lived at 4 years ago. I had updated my shipping address on my Apple account prior to pre-order day, and my Verizon shipping address and billing address are the same. So every record to change available to me showed my CORRECT shipping address (which is same as my billing) but somehow the Apple order showed a very old address 2 states away.

So lo and behold I was shocked to see on Monday of this week that my shipping address was my old home address. Nobody knew where it was coming from at Apple but "No problem" they promised me.....they'd fill out the right form and put the change address to my billing address request into the system. "Everything should be fine, you'll get an email telling you so."

24 hours pass...its now Tuesday of this week. No email, nothing changed, still shipping to my old home address. I call again.

"Not sure what happened because I see the other help desk person placed the request to change address...perhaps with the huge demand for the best iPhone evah things are just taking a little longer. But rest assured, you'll get your phone on Friday."

I get an email from Apple later that day saying they were processing my request and to expect another email "soon."

This morning at 430A my phone buzzes and its Apple telling my phone has SHIPPED TO THE WRONG DAMN ADDRESS.

I call Apple a THIRD time, this guy looks at everything and says "Well I'm not sure how this happened but I will process a NEW request for you to change the shipping address." Per him, this will take "days" now to re-route my shipment to me. But the way it works, I believe, is some UPS worker somewhere along the way will scan the box and see a delivery exception and then re-route the box manually.

Moral of story....don't trust Apple to "do the right thing." Three calls and I'm betting the phone I've paid in full for goes to someone else who promptly sells it on eBay.

Man, I spoke with someone from Apple the other day and they said they changed my shipping address fine. But now my tracking shows its going to the old address, and when I called UPS they said its going to the old one still.

Ditto, I suspect we are going to see an awful lot of "Dude, where's my phone?" threads 24 hours from now, with an equal number of "Dude, look I got a free phone!" threads.
