Is this an actual Apple render or a mockup... as those vents are all over the place on the corners?

Also shame the monitor wouldn't allow to rotate 90 degrees for coding, oh well, we'll see.

I think it's a mockup. Probably a pretty accurate one (it's the day before the event).

BUT I could be wrong and it doesn't look like that, but I think that's probably what it will be.

The exact display I am wanting is basically the new iMac format, minus the Mac (and associated chin).
If that configuration lands at $999, I'm in the moment ordering opens.
Why do I get the feeling we'll be looking at $1,499?
I get that feeling too. $999 isn’t even worth Apple’s heartache on a display methinks.

I waited years for a better option from Apple or a reasonably priced 5K monitor from LG. I recently gave up and bought the $400 LG 27UP650-W. It's 4K and I have the resolution set to look like 3008x1692. That gives me the screen real estate of the Pro Display XDR. I don't see pixels at the distance it is placed. It has a P3 color space and it looks great to me. I recommend anyone at least look into this before dropping $1000+ on anything better.

Careful with these rumours.
Miani often said he's not a leaker.

While he's great at analyzing current and upcoming Apple stuff, and he's often spot on about upcoming stuff, I don't think he has any sources at Apple.

BTW I don't want to sound like I'm advertising something because I don't know the guy personally, but anyone here should subscribe to his channel, it's in my top 2 favorite Apple channels.

I'm always careful with EVERY single leak - I look at them and think "that's cool if they released it, but if not, that's fine also."

I never think there's an 100% chance, because there never is.

I'd love to see a 30" but I doubt they'll do it. They'll make you buy the XDR if you want anything over 27". :(
The next Pro Display XDR is rumored to be 7K resolution and 36”. 24, 30, and 36-inch sizes would be so clean, as would 4.5K, 5.5K, and 7K resolution.

Keep it simple Apple, don’t introduce a 27” size to the mix, which fits oddly between your next-gen 24” and 36” sizes.

They could even have models with and without the XDR suffix (mini-LED option), for a $500-$1000 cost increase, until the mini-LED production capacity / cost makes it possible to make it a standard feature on all displays.

I’m tempted, but my LG 5K ultra fine is still an incredible display. No other monitor on the market can even compare to it picture wise (except for the LG Oled and XDR and those are priced way higher than this). I might consider selling it and buying the Apple display only if it has 120 hz. If not then what’s the point? It would just be the Ultrafine wearing a better outfit.

Says a lot that only a handful of commenters here even noticed the biggie-size-mini, and nearly everyone is fapping over a first-party display

Dropping displays from the lineup wasn't nearly as big a flub as, say, the butterfly keyboard, but it's gotta be a top five of the last decade for sure.

Crazy number of rumors now. iPhone SE and iPad Air seem to be locks, but beyond that... Mac mini? Mac studio? 13" MacBook Pro with M2? redesigned MacBook Air with M2? And now this monitor? Seems extremely unlikely it would be all of that.

I'd say it says a lot about you writing that comment without even noticing that "the biggie-size-mini" has it's own news thread AND 2 long forum threads assigned to it.

27 inches is too small.

Well, that is not what ..........

Yeah he's very good with Mac related content. (for iPad, iPhone and watch there are better channels)

It needs to allow rotation. No way they would miss that.
