Yeah dude, I received the deluxe edition so I have Fighting the Gravity and I can understand why it was dropped.... there's nothing deluxe about it though so I could have done without.

I've had severe 90s nostalgia lately and it's probably partly to blame for why I've been lukewarm on the album. Enema's my favorite, too, but I'm not big into AVA. I need more "umph" - like the old blink. Right now my favorites are Natives, Kaleidoscope, and Even if She Falls. Though, with me, the more I listen to albums, the more my favorites tend to shift to songs I didn't like much at first for some reason.

Anyway- sorry to veer off topic. Guess I better mention the iPhone so I don't get penalized:

iPhone 4S / 5

Nice plug there. Oh and the deluxe adds Even if She Falls, so there is at least 1 deluxe thing about it. Although I like 3 of the 4 additions, so it's more worthwhile for me.

Also, let's not forget this article from thisismynext.

There’s one question that has yet to be answered, however. Just why was everyone reporting on the supposed “iPhone 4S” recently? It seems that just a few months ago the entire tech media world was convinced the new iPhone was set to be merely an iPhone 4 update —*and now many are assuming that the 4S will actually be this cheaper version the WSJ is rumoring. Well, we have the answer. Simply put, as the iPhone 5 components are built for a smaller and lighter device, they can be easily fit into a casing which for all intents and purposes looks identical to an iPhone 4… and that’s exactly what Apple has been doing. Our sources tell us that the company has been testing the new components in old iPhone cases, for obvious reasons. Some of those reports we’ve heard about a larger screen for the old design would make sense too, as a slight tweak of the size (say, to a 3.7-inch display), would be barely noticeable to the eye, but obvious in internal component design. So if you’ve been wondering why the rumors about the iPhone 4S rose to such a din, now you know.

Why abandon the iPhone 4 design so quickly though? We’ve heard that the device is out of favor at the highest levels of the company, and folks are ready to move on to an entirely new product.

They are just nitpicking out of disappointment.

Why would anyone be disappointed??

Because Apple didn't manufacture something Rumor sites wrote about??

I honestly don't think Apple makes products according to information disseminated on Rumor sites.

Question arn.

it's a world phone. has both. (the N94).

arn

So if you had to make an educated guess, you would say the new iPhone*...

1. "World" Phone
2. A5
3. 8mp camera
4. HSPA+
5. Same form factor as the iPhone 4 (no larger screen)?

* Referring to the higher end iPhone if there ends up being two released.

Rumor sites discuss rumors derived from industry insider news and analyst reports. Not the other way around.

I don't know- your guess is as good as mine. It won't disappoint me because I am more than content with my iPhone 4 and wouldn't upgrade to a 5 even if it did come out.

iPhone 4S folks. That's it. Tuesday will be the biggest keynote disappointment in the last 5 years.

Let me get this straight....

You are disappointed because Apple is Not making a product they never were going to make to begin with. But you thought they were going to make due to leaks you read about in the Internet right???

HMMMMMM.

Were there any hard rumors about the original iPhone or the 3G. Is it possible that Apple really cracked down on what info gets leaked out and if there is a iPhone 5 that nobody would know about it until Tuesday.

Precisely. There hasn't been a rumor of a larger screen until this generation. Maybe it was a deliberate false rumor. Maybe it is delayed or cancelled. Who knows. Nothing ever came of the iPhone nano rumors either.

It's not really a fair comparison, since the iPhone 4 was completely outed and disassembled (gizmodo leak) well, before the production ramp. So there was no real demand for production photos.

arn

Very good point, after I asked the question, I realized that this was probably the case. Maybe looking through leaks of the 3GS would be a better comparison. If memory serves me correct, the rumors were locked on adding video recording but that was about it. Until Gruber posted that it would be called 3GS, S standing for speed. But no one was talking redesign at all. My guess is that we've heard about this new iPhone 5 so much because it does exist, but for various reasons won't be ready until 2012.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

If by bottom left, you meant bottom right, maybe...

A bigger form would enable a more functional device. the current screen is a bit cramped.

That is NOT true with electronics!!

Back in 92, when I Photographed one of the first Iridium Phone Prototypes, the thing was Tiny, the first Test Model (when we put a satellite in semi Orbit on the SR-71) the unit was HUUUGE in comparison, but the actual Production Model was Tiny again!!

On a larger Scale, Speedotron, a Studio Strobe manufacturer went with smaller units, yielding the same power due to better and more efficient electronics, the units were still big due to the need of multiple capacitors.

I'm glad there were no Rumor sites back in 92 when we were Photographing the Iridium Phone Prototypes, I saw like 15 of them in one year. The final product looked NOTHING like the prototypes we photographed.

Hell, the First Iridium Satellite I shot was made of Foamcore and wood dowels ;)

Last Thursday, I traded my Droid Incredible with a great Guy that didn't want his IPhone 4.

I went to the Apple Store and covered my rear end with Apple Care and I'm happy. I must confess, I'll buy whatever comes out. Why?? I have an Upgrade and... Because I can!!

Or a Prototype that didn't make it!! Trust me, That happens more than you think!!!

Someone leaked the wrong Prototype!!

I thought Foxxconn wasn't in Brazil yet manufacturing anything because they weren't getting any "deals" with the government. I just read an article today saying that they will start manufacturing at the end of the year. Maybe this is just a hoax.

there are already Foxconn plants operating in Brazil, the one in trouble is a new one

It's funny that people are still waiting for picture leaks of the iPhone 5. There is no iPhone 5.

iPhone 4S = "the iPhone 5"

I'm guessing that we'll see the iPhone with the larger screen next summer.
