Chinao owners couple questions:

Does this case work with a full body skin on the iPad?

Also where could one purchase this case? Amazon where I usually find cases at doesn't seem to have it available.

This is the Chinao WHEAT case that is being discussed the last few pages, even though the thread started off on the subject of a different model. The fit of the wheat case is quite snug, and I doubt a full body skin would fit. You might want to look around this forum for the discussion of the Chinao Vaja clone, though. That might fit.

Edit: look at post #39 of this thread, you will see pics of the black Vaja clone. This case could possibly allow for a skin.

I'm confused on which Chinao this thread is about. Is it the one called 'CHINAO Apple iPad 2 Vaja Style Premium Leather Smart Case' that kk sells for $43? It comes in 2 color choices?
And has the back cover unhinged from the iPad to form the open tabletop stand? Never had a stand like that that exposes the iPad and it takes a bigger table space.
Wanting to consider this case further. Thanks.

Hhmmmmm...........dunno if we should even allow you to SEE the case, 'cause then we would be just enabling your erm......"Case Overload Problem".:p

However, if you simply HAVE to ponder this subject, see my post above.:p;)

I have the vaja clone in dark brown with a screen protector and carbon skin on the back and I do not have any issues. There are some pics in post 35 that show the iPad in the case with the skin. The fit is probably a little tighter than what it would be without, but I have had no issues. Check chinao-usa.com for the selection of Chinao cases.

i have a thick skin on the back of my iPad and it works with the wheat case very snug but fits. you can find the chinao cases at www.chinao-usa.com

What? That thing is sick man. Let us know on iPhone accessories how you like it, I'm interested.

well here is the matching iPhone case, had to take the phone out to snap the pic. The cutout lets you push the sleep wake button to view the time or see who is calling without having to remove the phone. Its a nice case good protection while in the case but keeps your iPhone beautiful when out.

Looks nice with the wheat case although not really my style. Couldn't resist anymore though and pulled the trigger on the wheat case

I have to commend the company on being very fast with their shipping. I ordered on Thursday and already received it tonight. With other companies it would take them a full week so I'm impressed.

As for the actual case, my overall feelings are more negative than anything. For some reason I thought the case had a rigid back rather than the whole thing being flexible. While not a big deal I think I would've preferred a rigid back similar to my CaseCrown Bold. It was also ridiculously hard to shove the iPad into the sleeve and it's something I wouldn't want to put in and take out consistently. Not to mention going in, the sleep/awake button got caught a couple of times in the openings for the headphone jack and mic. Another thing I'm not overly pleased with is the full-length flap that tucks behind the iPad and secures it in place. I feel like there's a better way that could've been done because the case is such a tight fight and trying to completely insert the flap is a chore (again lending to the fact that I wouldn't want to remove the iPad and put it back in too often). The sleep/awake and mic cutouts don't line up well and the camera cutout is a bit weird too (don't care as much about the camera since I don't use it). One of the biggest drawbacks is that the sleep/awake feature it supposedly incorporates is very sporadic and more often than not it doesn't work. Really not sure what the deal is there but that's disappointing.

On the plus side, the leather and the interior have a nice feel to them. I also like that it provides protection all around the edges so I'm not worried about denting the corners.

All in all I think it's a letdown after all the good reviews here and I think there are a couple of things I'll need to email them about, particularly that sleep/awake feature.

sounds to me like you should email them with with this since none of us are able to replace or refund? You may have received a defective one because it doesn't sound like anything we received with the exception of your negative views that are clearly described not only in the description but are shown in the video. Yes its a tight fit but if it was loose that would be a bad thing too? He is a great seller and I'm sure if you asked him he would replace. But it just kills me when i go thru and read some of these posts the amount of people who complain to the wrong people and make one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. No i didn't make that up.

I'm not going to refrain from posting a negative viewpoint solely to appease you and maintain the illusion that this case is perfect. If the case is not up to par, I believe it is my right to express my opinion (whether it agrees with the majority or not). If you don't like that, well then I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you. Life's tough.

As for the point at hand...like I said at the end of my last post, I was going to email them (and did). I have nothing against this company and once again I'll commend them for their fast shipping and quick response to emails. They are working with me to resolve this and while the case looks great and feels great, the fact remains that its not perfect.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not a big Chinao case fan either. I got the wheat case. It's OK. Not great. Didn't have any problems with the sleep/awake feature. Thought the fabric flap that goes behind the Ipad when sliding the device into the case is excessive and poorly designed. The case would be better if it had magnets in the corners to keep the lid from moving around when closed. I'll keep mine and see if it grows on me, but I also got the Yoobao Executive (version 3), which I really prefer.

When I got my wheat case, the magnet was not right... It would work about 10% of the time. I contacted the seller and he had a replacement sent to me that same day. Great Customer service.... I read the reviews and watched the video review so I knew what I was getting. I love this case. Once you take it in and out a couple of times, it becomes easy. I also have a grove case, switcheasy case, Vaja leather case... The wheat case I use the most....

Ditto. I've noticed that the lid needs to be opened/closed at the slightest angle to work properly. One thought Kevin offered was that maybe the binding just needs to be broken in so he said if things haven't improved after a few days of use, he'll send a replacement.

i didn't like the yoobao cover too flimsy and the fake leather excuse me the cowskin glued to shredded cotton was just nasty. The case was ok as far as scratch protection but didn't offer any protection beyond that. The new Yoobao iSlim case i have ordered to add to my collection and i should have next week since they are back ordered looks like a good alternative case. I need a new black case since my ver 3 has begun to peel. The back flap on the back i do agree could be different but i don't use typing that much and never us the upright position. I like how it lays flat on a table as opposed to the Yoobao starting to tear where the back flap is sewn on. But everyone has their own preferences thats why we have so many choices and so many threads on cases

A perfect case has not been discovered yet

That's my point...what's yours?

All I did was make a post about issues I had so other people could be aware and for some reason that's not allowed in your book because...why? All I have to say is get off your soapbox and move along. People are going to post their opinions whether you like it or not.

I returned my Yoobao iSlim for the same reason, the front flap slides around when closed or carried, very insecure. I didn't know the Chinao was the same, all the more reason these cases need magnetic closure or the dreaded tongue flap IMHOO.
getting closer to perfect but the weak hinges/front flap looseness and weak smart fold stands are the drawbacks for me.
iCarer addresses both these areas for me, tongue closure (magnetic would be much better) and the non-smart folding stand.
I'm just a click away!

well this is the new version that has magnets to keep it closed so if i need to loose the skin so be it, no longer use the smart cover since i got the chinao but wanted something for those casual days

My Chinao Wheat case does not have magnets to keep the top cover secure when closed. I think having the magnets would make this a better case.
