The amazing this is that they've created a product that has some basic but reasonable functionality for less that what apple will charge for a share watch charging CABLE.....

If we're honest with ourselves, we let apple set amazing prices...

The ironic thing about the term "smart watch" is that the watch itself is only as smart as the phone with which is it paired, and without that device... well, it's not that smart a purchase OR a device, AT ALL.

What's with this incessant, obsessive "need" to be constantly fed with an uninterrupted stream of meetings, updates, twittlings, ****tlings and bobblings from the great (anti)"social" obsessives? I put my phone out of sight AND hand, in my room when we have guests, and it misses as many "urgent" notifications as I couldn't give two hoots about, and my attention span and quality of life is all the better for it.

Save your money, this crap is the ruination of friendships and focus on REAL LIFE.

Nowhere in this article is it stated that the company was falsely selling this watch branded/labeled as an Apple product. Unless this was the case, the headline is absolutely misleading. It's one thing to say they were selling a clone, knockoff, or use similar verbiage to describe something with similar looks and/or features, but that doesn't make it a "fake". The company used their own name and own product name. They weren't misleading anyone to think it was an actual Apple watch, were they? It's one thing to say they were ripping on Apple's look and feel (obviously the case), but fake? No.

You can if you count the 6th Gen Nano as the prototype. :p

That IS the device that got this whole smart watch craze ball rolling.

haha, yes, it was NANO that got people into Smart Watch. not Pebble.

*roll eyes*

Oh big deal. Walk to any Chinatown and you'll see Burberry and Louis Vutton have had Chinese knock-offs for decades.

Are you seriously just quoting yourself to create a new post with more images as you find them instead of just editing your original post? Come on, man. Denouncing tech on a tech forum was already bad enough once. No need to do it three times over.

Looks unbelievably cheap.

If that screen's actually glass and not plastic, it's the haziest glass I've seen on a personal device (smart watch, phone or tablet).

If you can attach more than 5 images in one post for me, I'll pay you in cookies...

"denouncing" - lighten up my serious fellow - it's just a little bit of fun, mixed with an Atlantic ocean sized portion of truth. Your reaction just reinforces that - but come on - have a giggle and stop being so serious :)

You could take the innards from a Nano, embed them in sculpted FIMO, bake and and have a decent looking iBotch NOW :D

not only it looks exactly same as Apple Watch.

it only costs 1/15 what Apple wants to gouge you for. AND the battery life is 10 times what Apple can do.

Let's be honest, this is probably made in the same factory that's producing AppleWatch.

it's okay, I don't particularly like the look of Applewatch either, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it makes me sick

The word GIVE ME A BREAK resounds large and clear, the screen is crap (you see right by looking at it), the SOC is crap (off the shelf and slow), the build and material... You got it... Crap. The integration with the Iphone (or any other phone).... Crap AND a security risk... The interface... Compatibility with Iphone Apps (you know the SDK...) well obviously Crap.

So, yeah, if you like crap they got it for you.

Ignoring the fact that Hyperdon had its own R&D man hours in the development of their watch, market prices are based on demand and supply more so than on the sunk costs of production.

If you don't understand the basic economics of pricing, I'd suggest you refrain yourself from making ridiculous comments about it.

I just logged in to say that your comment just shows how ignorant you are of how a final product such as the Apple Watch gets its final price. The price you pay includes years of research, development, which again intrinsically include design, prototyping, machines, countless man hours, the very same again for the accompanying software. Potatohead thieves can blatantly rip these off and sell inferior plastic junk (eg. Samsung) for 1/20th the price, because they didn't have to do any of these.

If you don't understand product development and business management, I'd suggest you refrain yourself from making ridiculous comments about it.

While there is no doubt a lot of overhead in creating the Apple Watch. One has to question the logic of the $350 retail price for the entry level device and the actual cost vs profit margin.

Even the original iPod Touch was $299 at retail price at 8gb, which is double what the Apple Watch will supposedly have. I know it's not entirely the same thing but with the progression of technology the Apple Watch is probably on par to what the iPod Touch was back in 2007 or even less than the equivalent being that flash storage prices have fallen to less than 1/8th the cost of what it was back then.

I'm not saying I don't want one, but at $350 for the entry level (one could say "inferior") model it really is hard to swallow for a "satellite" accessory for your iPhone.

The original iPhone sold for $399 on contract... it took them only one year to bring down the price.

Give them time to reduce production costs and cover R&D costs.

I 100% agree. It's like back in the day when Samsung first came out with their Android smartphone.

Lol don't even go there. Compare this crappy watch with the Apple Watch final product and you'll see the difference is real. This is priced for 25 dollars because no one will buy it for any higher. I doubt anyone will actually buy this anyway unless they are really desperate.
