If and when it comes out, great! If we have to wait till 4.3, then that's what well have to do. My only complaint is this constant pissing match back and forth between the devs.

I think so many of us are frustrated not that it isn't released, is just the lack of factual updates. A lot of people bought in with the anticipation of am Xmas release. That came and went with little or now explanation. I guess all I can wish for is better updates, not exact release dates.

Very well put!

Quick question. A guy just told me that he brought his phone and paid $20 for jb, he claims it is 4.2.1 untethered. Is this possible?

It would only be possible with "Monte" if (A) the previous owner had saved the 4.2b3 SHSH blobs and (B) He had access to the 4.2B3 ipsw.

It's not that Apple's getting better, they're just releasing updates quicker. When IOS first came out, there was no competition. Blackberry was out there, but they really just update once per device and that's it.

Apple has had to increase the frequency of their updates to keep up with Androids explosive absorption of market share. Android has done in 2 years what took Apple 4 to do.

Apple IOS is now less popular than Android OS for the first time since it's initial release, and they're trying to do it by little updates like Android does. The problem is that Apple is taking a jail cell and giving the prisoner a sprinkle of salt on their meal with each release. Android gave Lobster with the first release, and now is dishing out sides of steak and shrimp. Apple is continuing the mentality of a closed system (argue it all you want but until their OS supports all the features available on Android that u have to JB on iphone, it's TRUE). Apple's closed-system mentality held them back in the 80s when they had the golden opportunity against MS Windows, and they lost. I only hope they start to realize Android is here to stay and start making progress toward what people want\need from their mobile device.

But yeah. Each release of Android entices me a little more into their camp.... but honestly it's the discontent with what Apple DOESN'T do with each release that pushes me AWAY from iPhone :-(

Remember, this is all MY OPINION :)

Just another android brown shirt marching forward, saying, "Open! Open! Open!"

Open for whom? For OEM's and Carriers to lock down. Look at the big picture. Name a single compelling feature of your android handset that I can't do with my iPhone.

CLEARLY you don't own android. I own both.

Personal hotspot
Themes
Weather\News Lock Screen
Flash Support

I'm no android fanboy, my primary phone is an iPhone. You're just the apple fanboy who says PC is BAD because their MAC is good, and turns the blind eye to all of the disadvantages, which holds the platform back rather than advocating for change.

But you can get those if you jailbreak your iPhone. And I hear Android phones aren't that great until you "root" them. I don't know if that's true but in my experience with any android phone, they are very clunky, too many things going on and there is a slight lag. Plus the fact you can't integrate with iTunes makes organizing and syncing more difficult.

I nobody's fanboy but there is nothing on an Android platform that makes me go ZOMG I WANT IT!

Ciao.
I can express fine, just can't stand stuck up attitudes and repeat negativity that's all.
Maybe try some meds or something else to bring up your mood sometimes.
It must suck being constantly miserable.

Thanks AJ...You got me to figure out the ignore list feature. I was getting a bit tired of him as well...

I was looking around these guys twitter accounts. A lot of people are telling them not to release it because most people can use the Monte. What about the people with brand new phones? What about people that didn't shave b3 Shsh blobs? I don't think it's fair not to release it because SOME people can already get untethered.

Oh yeah you CAN do everything with an iPhone, my only point was it's already built in on Android... this will queue the trolls, but the only real reason anyone roots android anymore is to install apps they didn't pay for, unlike iPhone where most do it to make their phone usable :)

I still prefer the iPhone personally, but with Android making so much gains so quick, it's almost at the shift-point for me. My satisfaction with iPhone has gont from 90% to say 75% in the last 2-3 years, whereas my satisfaction with Android has gone from about 40% to now about 75%, so if you look at the progress they're both making, the customer adoption and satisfaction is growing so quickly for android and staying the same or lessening for IOS.

Welcome bro.
Its just not worth putting up or having to listen to the same attitudes over and over again;)
The ignore feature works great.

Typical mentality that got America into the financial crisis and lost it's dominance in world power... "You have to agree with me or you're wrong. You have to tell me my opinions are right, or you're just being confrontational. If I want to fight a cause, you have to fight with me, or you're the enemy"

That's all I see:D
So I dont have to listen to your nonsense any more "bella9208"
Have a good day.
And as you can see Im not the only one that's getting fed up with your bs:)

It sure does and for the same droid troll. :D

You're suffering a daydream Apple is sharing right now... just like they did in the 80s... just because a product has been successful, and is successful, doesn't mean the competition isn't going to try and steal your marketshare. You can sit back and pretend the competition doesn't exist and hope your customers stay loyal, or try to actually listen to users and make the products better.

I'm NOT an android user (tho I have one, i still prefer iphone),and my 3 household computers are MAC, so I'm CERTAINLY qualified to give opinions on MAC since I'm 100% mac.

The mere fact that people respond "I can do all that as long as I jailbreak" which apple just asked the government to stop, proves my point that things are going in the wrong direction.

Meh, even if a user is annoying and spouts nonsense, I still never ignore them. Maybe they will say something interesting or insightful in the future, in which case will be missed.
