Agreed! I just hate that BBC America edits about 15 minutes out of EVERY episode. So disappointing! Can't wait until I move to Manchester in September. I will firmly plant myself in front of the tv watching DAVE.

My favorite episode is the one across Africa. I love it when Hammond yells for Oliver when it is sinking in the river. Brilliant!

What parts are cut out? How to they fit it in a time slot in the UK if it is 60 minutes without ads? Do they not have ads on BBC? Is it the funny parts or just random rambling? Thanks!

All i can think about is he looks like he got "blowded up" and he is getting is flithy hands on a nice white iphone. Who is he ? and why does he look like that?

Nope, no ads on the BBC

Thanks, but do you have any clue what parts are cut out? Because of this, I have now sorted to other manners (hint :D).

the news section is cut out. it's difficult to understand what they're on about without the context and almost certainly impossible for non-british to understand. not to be rude but lots of jokes about british comedians and presenters who are mostly not heard outside europe. eg, people they have the strongest tendency to refer to include bill oddie, david attenborough, michael parkinson, adrian chiles, graham norton and etc etc

boys also like to joke about certain parts of britain, among their favourites are yorkshire, norfolk, cheshire, colchester, "the north"

I thought this thread was going to be about Kelly Clarkson, and as such, almost didnt click it... however, the sheer chance that it'd be about Jeremy Clarkson was true! Best show ever made. Love Top Gear.

Just saw this, Jeremy Clarkson has made his iPhone upgrade to 3G! (presumably a HK retail unlocked version because he's on Vodafone) He used to own an unlocked original iPhone and before that the Motorola V3. Can only assume that this man's addicted to Apple now!

Apologies to Americans here who probably have never heard of him...
I am grossed out that he used a Motorola V3 before the First generation iPhone.

I really don't get why anyone's mind would go to this Kelly Clarkson person before Jeremy Clarkson. I had almost no idea who she was before this thread. Still not sure what she does. I guess she was on american idol or something. Who watches that crap anyway?

My point is- I don't expect most people to even know what Top Gear is...

Comcast shows longer "director's cuts" of recently broadcast episodes in their "On Demand" area. Still not the full 60 minutes, I don't think, but up into the 55 minute range.

The major cuts usually include the news and bits of the celebrity interviews. There are usually small bits cut out here and there in the car reviews and maybe in the in-studio banter. Sometimes larger chunks of other things are cut - for example, in the "winter olympics" show, the race around the speed skating track against a skater wasn't in the broadcast episode but was in the "director's cut."

I wish they'd just put out season sets of the uncut episodes here. (I think Season 10 has been released on DVD here, but I'm not sure if the episodes are uncut, and those episodes have been played to death by BBC America anyway.)

I really would. She became very popular very quickly. She has had numerous number one songs in the US and in the UK. She was the first winner of American Idol. And it isn't watched only in the US. I have lots of friends that live outside the US that watch it all the time. I don't really watch Am. Idol but she is the first Idol contestant to have a number one hit in the UK.
