Apparently the background story is that they're doing another A to B challenge and came across this wedding reception while Clarkson and James May were having a pint in a hotel.

Clarkson is driving a steam engine, hence the outfit and soot. James May is in a car I think, and Richard Hammond is on a motor bike which broke down, hence his absence from the photo. Probably why they've stopped for a pint too.

My favorite one was when they had to build the police cars and try to catch the Stig!

Thanks for that! I was wondering!

Apologies to Americans here who probably have never heard of him...

Top Gear IS on in the US, too, you know!

Time for a Top Gear top tip, buy an iPhone.
Some say his left nipple is the shape of the Nurburgring.

Everyone knows that description is about The Stig!

We are a full series behind in the US, so we won't see this episode until the fall.

That episode is priceless. Richard Hammond's Vitara spike trap thing is easily driven around, Captain Slow's paint mist is easily washed off with the windshield wipers, and Jeremy Clarkson's wheel spikes end up backfiring and ripping his own wheel right off. Sadly, my wife doesn't find the show nearly as funny as I do.

EXCLUSIVE!

My coworker now has an iPhone!

Tell your friends.

How did you get such a great picture of such a well known celebrity?

Well I think that dispels any myths as to whether the white iPhone is girly or not.. ;):D

This thread is not pointless; Jeremy Clarkson is one of the wittiest people on television, no exceptions. He is also pretty opinionated (in a jokey kind of way) so I don't think he'll be bashing Mac users or Apple products from now on.

Far from being another one of those "x celebrity has bought an iPhone" threads, this might actually get some naysayers buying an iPhone..

Just a thought; maybe Americans could accept that someone may be extremely notable in other places in the world without being so in the US! International homogenisation of culture doesn't have to start in California.

In Britain, Australia, and gearhead communities world-over, this man is the ever-popular host of what is regarded to be one of the best comedy-documentary (hard to really classify) shows currently on TV.

i see the point in this thread but don't see the point in the replies from idiots that are going out of their way to say how they aren't interested.

we get it, you aren't interested.....you guys are sooooooo cool.

Just a thought; maybe everyone shouldn't give a crap about what phone someone else has, celebrity or not.

We get it, you're soooooo cool for pointing out something you're simply perpetuating.

This thread is no different from the one about avril using a Mac.

That's the argument we're going with?

This pointless thread is ok because other pointless threads exist!

If that's the best argument to make then I really don't feel so bad about making fun of this one. Is this guy famous for hating Apple products? Did he say he'd never buy an iPhone? Is he a major stockholder in RIM?

Any of those would make this very interesting, but so far I haven't seen anyone mention anything like that. Instead, we get:

International homogenisation of culture doesn't have to start in California.

Uhm, good point, I guess, but I really don't see how that makes the thread relevant.

Er... isnt this news quite old. I mean I think he had an iPhone when Hammond raced a Bugatti Veyron with that fighter plane..
