That's a fair point, but at the same time it shouldn't mean people berate someone just because it isn't a US based subject? While to many it's far from a great thread, there does seem to be some over reaction.
I mean, I know who Kelly Clarkson is :p

True, I don't think us US folks should berate UK, etc folks for posting this here, but I just wanted to comment back that some folks here may not know who this person is since our exposure to UK TV is limited. :)

With that said, while I didn't know this guys name, I have seen him before while flipping through channels and where they talked about cars (History Channel, Science Channel, that group). :)

I am an American, never been to Britain and I love Jeremy Clarkson. Top Gear rules.

Don't let them get you down, I understand where you're coming from.

Add me to that list. I love this show. It's on Series record on my box. Can't wait for the next season.

There are Millions of white iPhones out there, is his different? If not this is a pointless thread.

Just a thought, maybe other folks around the world would realize that while accessible globally, this is a US-based forum. :)

Nice attempt to reconfirm the utter disregard for the rest of the world by many (but not all) yanks. This forum may be based in the states, but nowhere in the "about" or anywhere else does it claim to emphasise America. It is a global accumilation of Apple/Mac news. Your comment just confirms a stereotype the rest of the world has of you by stressing how much more important the USA is than anywhere else. Get real.

Try reading some of the earlier threads! :D

Ah gotcha! I skipped a few pages ..looked like arguing over nada :D

Apparently the background story is that they're doing another A to B challenge and came across this wedding reception while Clarkson and James May were having a pint in a hotel.

Clarkson is driving a steam engine, hence the outfit and soot. James May is in a car I think, and Richard Hammond is on a motor bike which broke down, hence his absence from the photo. Probably why they've stopped for a pint too.

My favorite one was when they had to build the police cars and try to catch the Stig!

all the tech industry knows him! HE IS THE BEST AUTO PRESENTER IN THE WORLD!

Haha, he is far from the best auto presenter in the world.

Actually, I'd consider him more of the Bill O'reilly of automotive press more than anything. Runs his big mouth and alienates different factions of the industry with his abrasive, but brutally honest reviews.

Hell, still puts on a bloody good show though! ;)

You're right, James May is the best auto presenter in the world... Go Captain Slow! :D

It's not a stereotype. Americans do think the US is more important. (Hint: It is.)

And while my statement above is not the point of this thread, I just had to go there because you couldn't let it go. You're responding to a non-existent issue. bytethese's comment had nothing to do with us thinking the US is "more important." The fact that this forum is US based means that there are more US users and that outside celebrities will not be as widely recognized. That's it. Let it go - or as you would say, "get real."

You should go back and re-read the posts in this thread. Nobody said "OMG why are you posting this? TG is a UK show and nobody here cares about UK shows!" It was quite the opposite. Many people acknowledged recognizing him and the awesomeness that is TG. The problem people have is "OMG why do we care if XYZ uses an iPhone." Replace XYZ with ANYONE - whether it be Kelly or Jeremy Clarkson. WE DON'T GIVE A ****.

well im from the uk and think this iphone forum is the best there is , the 02 forum is pants it gets about 1 post a week !
I think u.s.a is brill especially its tv (prison break especially) and remember without the u.s we wouldnt have the iphone !!!

Just saw this, Jeremy Clarkson has made his iPhone upgrade to 3G! (presumably a HK retail unlocked version because he's on Vodafone) He used to own an unlocked original iPhone and before that the Motorola V3. Can only assume that this man's addicted to Apple now!

Apologies to Americans here who probably have never heard of him...

you know who else has been spotted using a white iphone? millions lol

who is this guy anyways

edit: was answered as i read thread

SWEET! :D Thanks for the news OP! I actually am American but am obsessed with Top Gear on BBC America. It's the same show but just broadcasted here. But why isn't Richard there?

someone in this thread said his car broke down or something similar, they were having a race.

Yikes!!

I don't understand why people of freaking out over the fact that people do buy stuff because celebrities have or use them. Isn't that exactly why companies pay out millions of dollars to celebrities to advertise and endorse their products? They pay out all that money because it is profitable, because people do buy stuff because some celebrity uses it or says it a good product.

While I would never buy something simply because some celebrity uses or endorses something. But I might look into a product if it is endorsed by someone that has earned my respect as someone that knows quality products. I honestly don't know who this Clarkson is, but I do know who Kelly Clarkson is. If it was Kelly I would say that maybe it is cool that she likes a certain phone that I happen to like too. But I wouldn't go buy one because of it. Now this other Clarkson seems to have earned the respect of lots of people in that he knows quality when he sees it. That makes a difference. I still would not go out and buy one simply because he has one but it would make me consider looking into it because it must be a quality phone.

Don't care who that guy is, and I have no clue why we would care if he uses an iPhone 3G or 4G or 957G. Completely unnecessary thread.

To you maybe, but not everyone shares your opinion, and unless we're now restricting peoples freedoms, then...

Quite agree :D However, don't forget that some sad people don't have anything better to do! ;)

Oh yeah, but he came back after. How outdated is this picture cause I saw the episode when Richard came back. And that was on BBC America where everything is showed much later than in the UK.

Where the heck did you get that from? Just cause I happen to think that America isn't the most important country means I'm from (I don't know..) Lithuania? No offense to any Lithuanians, by the way. I just had to think of a less popular country.
