That actually looks pretty nice. I'd of course rather seem some radical new redesign that blows my mind, but this is like an iPhone 6SE. While the iPhone 6 / Plus design is my least favorite thus far (harder to hold, slippery, no progress on thinner bezels, bending on 6, etc), this looks clean and nice, with an improved camera. If they give us a dark jet black option, that could be cool. I'm just excited to move from my Plus sized phone back down to regular.

Something about that shadow around the camera doesn't look right?! Looks like something that was thrown together in Photoshop.

Made my day the new iPhone 6SII
The 123rd image so far. And it excites me every time.

I'm definitely not upgrading my 6+ to this. I'll be getting the one with the dual camera! (Assuming those rumors turn out to be true, and Apple can show that they've taken advantage of the dual-lens to make better pictures in low-light situations.)

What would be good about a touch sensitive home button?
Everything. Embed that archaic dinosaur home button and functionality into the home screen and shrink those huge bezels, shrinking the phone in the process.

It's not coming, they will only be able to accomplish that with the glass back - rumored for next years model (iPhone 8). The only way they can do wireless charging that I can think of, would be through that smart connector on the Plus only model, but that would have to be with some sort of pad.

That's not entirely true. They have a patent for this "smart aluminum" body, which would allow wireless charging without having a glass back.

I don't know why everybody assumes that Apple will hold EVERYTHING back this year. There will be new features.
And they usually don't combine a completely new design with "big" new features, just because people will buy the 2017 iPhone anyway because it looks different and new. I don't see a reason against introducing wireless charging this year.

if you watch the mayor competitors like SAMSUNG, SONY, HUAWEI and LG, their new phones barely changed from their predecessors.

Understood. Those of us who care about functionality can now move on.

Perhaps just buy a snazzy case - You know, a cute kitten or something like that. No one will notice the phone underneath.

i would never ever buy or use a case for the reason i already mentioned :p

functionality is important of course but after all these years smartphones have reached its peak. nothing i cant do with my iPhone 6

I don't believe they will have it based upon them holding all features for the next iPhone, but rather because it seems incredibly inefficient to develop and use such a technology that would allow for full wireless charging through metal material, just to switch back to glass (leaving that technology unnecessary) the following year. Doesn't that seem incredibly stupid?

I'm not saying it's not possible they will add it this year, but it seems super unlikely because some people question that fact that they plan to switch back to glass to begin with (unless to aid with wireless charging). Glass does have a long list of issues by itself, including being less durable (drops/cracks) than aluminum.

don't judge a book by its cover. I personally think it's svelt...a refined classic. It's what's on the inside that really counts. That said, I do hope the dark, cobalt blue rumor pans out. That is a really snazzy color.

Yes, wireless charging will be there in a years time. Perhaps even without a charging mat.

But Apple won' t build it in the phone itself this year. I believe they will release a special case for true wireless charging, that case will be connected to the iPhone by a smart connector.

They will charge a lot of $$ for this case though.

Yes, but people today will want to do all of these things faster and at the same time. It is all about speed and multitasking these days...

Well, I guess it depends on how serious we should take these rumors for next years iPhone. I mean we don't even know exactly what's coming this year. It's just way to early to make predictions for next year.

But speaking of glass...we had a full glass iPhone a few years ago with the iPhone 4(s). They moved to aluminum for good reasons, so it also seems incredibly stupid to move back to glass just to allow wireless charging.

Anyone else notice that you can see the floor behind him/her and his/her fingers in the apple logo? This is a back cover, not an actual iPhone.

Why would you take a photo of the back and then not take one of the front too?

I never understand these 'leaked' photos, you do have to wonder if they are Apple deliberately drip feeding info so that case manufacturers etc can have something to work with.

The photo features the rear shell only, notice the floor through the camera and the fingers behind the apple logo. Perhaps the photographer had access only to this component.
